They were at a computer store soon enough. It had involved nearly killing them all by racing for a spot with an eighteen-wheeler, almost running over a busy man with a suitcase, and almost running over a poodle taking care of its business at a fire hydrant, but they were there.
The fence behind the store was also run over, but that's what you do to avoid five o'clock traffic out front.

Lulu was frightened in the backseat of the car. Sheo's driving was insane, she rather walk/fly then ride in a car. In her bunny form, she hopped down to the floor of the car, wanting to be as close as she could to the ground.

Aurelio got out of the car. "I'll be back in an hour. If I'm not, assume that I'm dead, and leave me."

Sheo leaned out of the driver window, pouting. "I have to wait here? If there's a chance you're going to die, why can't I come and at least watch?"
The engine idled, and Sheo reached over and switched it off, letting silence come from the beautiful red Humvee as it glistened in the daylight... except for the score of bullet holes scattered along its body.

"Hmmm..... Let's see here...." Aurelio picked out his parts and walked to the counter, paid, and got out. He was surprised to see the humvee still there.
(I don't know computers very well.)

Sheo blinked when Aurelio came out of the store. "You only took... ten seconds," she told him, glancing at the digital clock on the dashboard. The Humvee was off. Sheo glanced at an imaginary wristwatch on her left wrist, nodded, then said, "Yep. Only about ten seconds. What'd you buy?"

"Computer parts. I won't bother explaining, as you probably won't understand it."

Sheo raised an eyebrow. "Was that supposed to be an insult? What? Am I not supposed to understand the ramifications of the central processing unit you may have purchased? What about input and output features? Mouse, keyboard, microphone, video camera, joystick, touchscreen - all those fancy ways to input? What about the soft copy? The monitor? The speakers, the printer, the fax? And software? Will I not understand how much RAM and ROM - Random Access Memory and Read-Only Memory - you bought? How about memory? Is it in gigabytes or the new terrabytes? Does the CPU support dual-graphic cards? And how many fans will this mega-machine require to operate? Did you get a wireless internet feature? Maybe you saved hundreds of dollars on your car insurance?"
Sheo continued to list different, specific parts and functions of computers, computer terminology, and software and hardware specs. After five minutes of non-stop jabbering, she stopped talking and took a really deep breath.
"...Well, Aurelio?" She asked. "What will I not understand about it?"

Aurelio sighed. "Look. Do you know how to hack a government computer, steal data, delete the original, and get out of it without the government noticing?"

Sheo stiffened. "That's not primarily about computers. That's just what you do with them. The hardware you buy doesn't determine the illegal hacking you can do with the technology. So, what'd you buy?"

Aurelio looked at Sheo. "Petroleum byproducts, and purified rock."
(That's what plastic is! A petroleum byproduct! Metal is purified rock!)

"Huh?"
Sheo shrugged, and started the car. "Where to now, genius?"
The reason Sheo didn't ditch Aurelio immediately (besides the fact that she actually, truly felt like helping) was that she would get a kick out of watching the hilarious scene that she knew would unfold later, when Kate came back.

"I thought that would confuse you." Aurelio smiled smugly. "We need to get back to that warehouse thing. I can easily set up perimeter defenses, or I could have Zero pretend to still be under CL control and lead them in the wrong direction."

"No," Sheo replied. "They will look there, and I doubt you have enough prowess to suddenly build from scrap a machine capable of fending off Alpha and all of Carl... Caraski... that Travis guy's company."
Sheo decided to make an executive decision. "We're going to Kate's apartment," Sheo thought aloud, already pulling out of the lot and causing another car that had been going straight to swerve and land in the ditch.
Sheo giggled. And then they were going ninety again.
