Core's heart wasn't racing or anything. He was fast asleep. He turned so he was on his side. He hugged Chiasa slowly and snuggled into her like before.

Chiasa's breath caught in her chest. Now their faces were touching and if Gab wasn't in between them, there would be no space at all. Her heart was beating furiously, like it wanted to escape.

Gab wiggled a little high onto the bed. His nest had never been quiet this warm, or comfortable. He cuddled closer to one side of it, lifting his wing so he could wrap it around the warmth.

Core stopped snuggling when he got into a comfortable position and he sighed contentedly.

Chiasa let out a slow breath as Core finally settled. Her heart was still pounding but she was a little less freaked out, now that he wasn't moving. She resettled to see if she could get some more sleep.

Aislin had tried to stay awake when they'd finished, but she'd been too tired. She was acutely aware of Barck still wrapped around her before she'd passed out.
As the sun came up the next morning, she was awake, but didn't move. She was warm, and felt safe, and comfortable. She'd wait until Barick woke up to get out of bed, even if she wanted to get up and start stretching. She nuzzled closer to him, breathing in his musky smell.

Barick slept silently with Aislin in his arms. His breathing was soft and slow.

Aislin shifted into a more comfortable position and began tracing the lines of Barick's arm muscles. She wasn't use to being abed this late

Barick felt her finger on his muscles and slowly opened his eyes. He smiled at the sight of her.

Aislin was almost oblivious to him. She was completely aware of that section of his skin however. It was soft to the touch, but underneath was a strong, hard layer of muscles. There were a few breaks in the smoothness of his skin due to old scars, and a burn or two. He was a smith, it wasn't uncommon.
She loved his skin, the way it was silky soft, almost always dry, and warm, nearly hot when they were making love. It didn't seem to hold dirt the way hers did. Aislin had heard of smooth as a baby's bottom, maybe that term applied to Barick...

Aislin jumped, shocked out of her little world by the sound of his voice. "My name is not Babe..." She warned before she stretched her neck to kiss him lightly on the lips, "Not even my father was allowed to call me such a thing..."
She reached up and brushed his hair from his eyes. Where did men get such eyes? Barick's warmed her to the tips of her toes, she smiled at him, "But.... I don't believe I've slept that well in a long time... You make me feel safe... Safe enough not to need to stay half awake to defend myself... You and Gab are most diffidently changing me."

Aislin petted his face, "My father... He use to call me 'Dream' when he wanted to use a pet name... I wouldn't mind if you used that too... I've never let anyone else use it... Not even the last man I loved... He never even called me 'Lin'..."
She smiled back up at him, a little embarrassed to have shared that information with him, "When I'm with you... I feel like I don't have to defend anyone... least of all you."
