[Kyla: Mysterious Tower: Yen Sid's Study]

To the one on the chopping block, that was some heavily embellished dialogue being spoken about her, and it smacked her like the nastiest whiplash, making her shoulders visibly cringe.
-“she would risk Kyle's life and our lives by pausing”-
That’s not true!
-“Kyla told me not to heal James”-
It wasn't like I demand it by force.
-“fooling around with the life of one of our team”-
I would never do that!
-“she didn't even indulge what it was she was going to do”-
I had no time, I was doing what you guys told me to do! Just fight! Focus! I WAS listening to you!

-“She even disregarded Sora's input”-
That’s not true either! I understood him, but that doesn’t mean I change my mind or forget how I feel I…
I wanted to do my best for everyone sake.

“-whatever else she said about it she decided on her own, there was no other intention behind it besides a firm, though angry, no.”

-----“ I'm not going to wait for you to try and experiment with magic you don't know so you can be a ******** hero”

How was I supposed to take that?!

It took all of her restraint to remain perfectly still. The choice of words framed things in a very bad light. Not only did it sound it heavily bias to the pictomancer – some of it was basically untrue, or wasn’t the entire truth- but it was spoken as if it was fact.
Kyla looked at Noelle for a moment as she said her piece, the mages face unreadable as the healer seemed to continue to talk. It had to have just been her opinion, but it was lacking the key phrases like – It seems, or it looks, or I felt like, or it felt to me,-‘ Instead everything Noelle said, she said it like fact.
Loaded words were simply a more insidious way of lying… and Kyla had been stung by such tactics too many times in her life to forget it.
It looked like Noelle was illustrating Kyla was some sick apathetic dictator who demanded the girl heartlessly ignore her friend’s plight so she could play Hero. But Kyla knew what was in her own heart – and it wasn’t this.
This was ridiculous! Even the logic made no sense either now that ti was said back. They made it perfectly clear how annoyed they were that she was acting so slow- but wait- NOW she was supposed to do a full briefing on her plan while James got shot in the face?!
She was damned either way then.
Kyla had enough and looked at the floor. Focused on a speck on the carpet and stared at it like it was the most interesting thing in the entire room. She stared at the floor and waited. She tried to take comfort that if the sphere was viewing all that transpired, the Wizard would have seen it unfold. He wise enough to understand semantics.
Noelle seemed angry still, and perhaps despite how it sounded- maybe she wasn’t throwing Kyla under the bus at all, but explaining how things felt from her point of view and simply didn’t bother with semantics but assumed they all knew the difference.
Yes. That was logical. Then it was a valid reiteration if Kyla thought about it like that. Noelle wasn’t like that- she was honest.
This was simply how things unfolded from Noelle's perspective, and surely everyone in this room was smart enough to figure that out.
Surely if she was patient...

---thinking about it like this- Kyla silently reprimanded herself for even thinking it was anything else.

Keep it together.
Keep it together.

Kyla instead concentrated on the soft warm comforting presence of her summon that brushed up against the inner surface of her heart to once again let her know at least one person understood her in this room.

{James : Mysterious Tower : Yen Sid's Tower}

Before anything else could be said or done, Yen Sid took all of them away from the Chamber of the Cornerstone and the resting Kyle and took them to his study. The corsair stood at attention where he appeared and immediately noticed the lack of the Cornerstone's influence which made him feel even worse about what had transpired during the drop.

{{cue:Despair}}

The corsair remained silent as Yen Sid asked Joe for a full report regarding the events that had transpired after they had entered until the seal had been destroyed. James remained silent as he listened to Joe's very truncated version of the report, anticipating to finally get the berating that he felt he deserved for it.

'A small mishap...? My biggest mistake yet and that's all it was to him!?' the corsair thought, his anger not at Joe for the statement but again, himself for the mistake.

The corsair didn't speak out though, retaining his composure as Sora confirmed the report, adding a bit more detail to what Joe left out regarding what happened at the conclusion, which caused Yen Sid to ask for an elaboration regarding the apparent trust dispute that had arisen while James had been in agony at the hands of Anima. The wizard then asked to hear both sides of the story starting with Kyla and then moved onto Noelle, who started off apologizing to everyone, especially him. Causing him to look her in the eyes and give her a small reassuring smile, which faded as soon as she looked back to Yen Sid. He didn't hold anything against her, he probably never would. He blamed himself for letting it happen in the first place. Since he had been in agonizing pain during the entire argument, he really had no right to judge either way, which was the same way he felt regarding everything that happened in Atlantis as well. He would leave it to Yen Sid to discern what he would from their stories, discerning things was definitely one of the wizard's strong suit.

He took the time after Noelle spoke to finally speak his mind and get what he had been feeling off of his chest.

"I am sorry to interrupt, but I have to say this. Noelle, you don't have to apologize to me for what happened," he stated, looking at the agromancer briefly before focusing on Yen Sid and the others again. "I shouldn't even have gotten myself into that situation to begin with. It was a stupid move on my part, Anima's fist must have knocked my brain for a loop because I clearly wasn't using it! It was the biggest mistake I have ever made and it could have ended up costing us everything we were trying to do," he stated, his hands now clenched into fists which he was trying very hard not to hit himself in the leg with. "For that, I am truly sorry for all of the trouble that it has seemed to cause and I can assure you guys it will not happen again," he concluded feeling slightly embarrassed for speaking out of turn. However, he felt a bit better having gotten how he felt off of his chest.

[ Yen Sid ; Sora ; Riku : Mysterious Tower : Yen Sid's Tower ]

Yen Sid listened to her story, hands still tented in front of him. When she finished, he was momentarily silent, eyes shut as he processed everything.

Then James spoke.

The moment James opened his mouth, Yen Sid's eyes shot open, staring him down. Not a word was said, but not a word was needed when one could feel the piercing silence of the high mage's ire. His gaze remained, unblinking, focused, for a few moments after James finished.

"Kyla, Noelle," Yen Sid called the two women forward, his attention back to the issue at hand. "You both seem to understand you have erred. For the future, though, I feel I must emphasize how grave these errors could have been."

"Noelle, you gave way to personal anger and frustration. As you well understand, these emotions feed the darkness within us. It was within your right to deny the plan, but letting loose your distrust could only make things worse," he explained. "To be a guardian of the Light, it is not that you must ignore these emotions, and by absolutely no means suppress them, but you must tame them, control them. You must accept that you feel them, but only act on those that benefit the situation."

"In loosing your negativity, you invited Kyla to do the same. Sadly, you gave way as well, though you did so in a different manner," he began, his gaze shifting to Kyla as he spoke. "Both of your emotions were strongly palpable even to myself."

"It was no coincidence that the abomination spawned shortly after that," he said, closing his eyes with a heavy sigh before opening them again. "Or did it not seem curious that it appeared after absorbing a large amount of your darkness? Darkness that might not have been so stong had emotions been kept in check."

He let that hang in the air momentarily, keeping silent for a few seconds. "Our foes feed on our negativity. We cannot give them sustenance, or they will defeat us even before we have a chance to fight back."

"But that is enough about emotional control. Kyla," he started, turning his gaze more directly to her now. "Your error lies at an earlier point."

"I presume that you have never actually used what you call a "limit break," because if you had, you certainly would have known using one would have drained you of your entire mana stores," he explained. "As a result, being a magician, you would have been forfeiting your powers for the rest of the battle, leaving your allies to do the rest of the fighting. So you can see that what you call "limit breaks" are meant as an absolute last-ditch effort. Using them too early is more likely to ruin any chances of victory."

"Compounding this is your choice to take on damage, as opposed to allowing Noelle to heal it outright. On the one hand, had you known about the costly nature of limit breaks, perhaps you wouldn't have even mentioned it," he began. "That siphoning skill, after all, should be considered just like a limit break: a skill only to be used when there are no other options."

"And yet, on the other hand, the error may be traced even farther back. You have told me that you have been suspect, both in action and competence." he said, eyes still on her. "If that is the case, was it wise to break formation? Before your group entered, Joseph established roles for each of you. He and Sora, the melee assault; Noelle and Dawn, the healing and support; and James and yourself, the artillery and defense."

"The individuals in a team often can cover many different areas. However, what makes them a team is their ability to cover their specific role. Each of you are like a single cog in a clock," he said, gaze switching to the grandfather clock in the room. "If everything is in place, and everything does what it's supposed to do, the clock works flawlessly. But even if all you remove is one gear, the entire mechanism falters."

"Trust and respect, as you likely know, is earned. And in a team, the best way to earn them is to fulfill your role as given by your leader," he said. "Not to step out of it. The more trust you earn, the more leeway you will likely be given. Until then, your safest course is Joseph's orders."

"You may find the roles restricting, but you must remember: they are trusting you with those duties. You may have been trying to fulfill them in this instance, but at the cost of inhibiting Noelle in her duties," he said. "And, of course, at the cost of all your magic power, but I have already covered that."

He paused, closing his eyes momentarily, before glancing at both young women.

"What is important is not what lies behind us, but what lies ahead," he explained. "We have made plain today's errors. Noelle, you must temper your heart in dire situations. Kyla, you must earn their trust before asking for it."

"You both have already acknowledged your problems, which brings you to a good start on repairing them," he said. "Address them, but do not hold on to them. Such weight will only hold you back. Do you both understand?"

[Kyla: Mystery Tower: Yen Sid’s Study]

Cue: Black Song

It killed Kyla to hear James apologize for anything, she was the one who planted the stupid idealistic idea in their minds and James acted on it.
Kyla couldn’t apologize, let alone speak. She felt she had no right to say anything anymore. It felt like no one trusted her. After all she’d had tried, even now trying to fulfill her given role at the beginning of the fight- it was just yet another thing to add to her list of screw ups. They have given her a job, but she sucked at it.

And then Yen Sid divulged something about her own magic she didn’t not understand- That being the Limit Breaks themselves. The girls’ brow visibly rose in surprise at this revelation.

What’s strange as well, Kyla did remember using limit breaks, but the after math has mixed results in her memory. Like back in the Beasts castle, she used it after Cory “died”- and… well.. she didn’t recall her mana being completely drained away afterwards. Then again, the entire ordeal was a haze- and afterwards she didn’t use her magic in big ways, so perhaps if she had tried to do anything truly substantial, she would have discovered that she was out of power. But those experiences alone weren’t enough to realize it was BECAUSE of the limit break.

She recalled Tyue actually whisking her away by force- and didn’t Carbuncle draw upon her magic?

When else did she use a limit break-? Back in Atlantis? Yes, it took all of her mana- she remembered that. But unlike her offensive limit break, this one was a buff, she didn’t think it’s taxation on her mana would be the same as something explosive like Burn lvl 3.

Also, considering the nature of these moves, each following an extended amount of fighting- she concluded that the lack of mana was the result of an entire fight- not from the finishing blow itself. It was clear now that Kyla failed to make the connection that the result was consistent no matter what kind of limit break it was.

This critical error in her information was a surprise and it was clear on the girl’s face she felt so stupid for not figuring this out, thus her cheeks turned pink from embarrassment. The wise man was right, had she known, there was no way the girl would have spoken up like that- even if her limit covered for an extended period of time, there was no guarantee it would compensate for her lack of inclusion in the overall fight. And they wouldn’t afford to protect her if she was helpless.

The emotions that followed after he concluded his explanation was unexpected- she didn’t feel as terrible. Though it was a critical error- it was a reasonable one to have been made. It could have happened to any one and Yen Sid was right- what mattered was what was ahead now and Kyla would never make this mistake again.

It also seemed that Yen sid understood Kyla was at least trying to make an effort to adhere to her ‘role’ in the team, even if it failed this time. His emphasis on her avoiding taking on things that would do her harm, like her inked exchange- was also quite surprising. It was a response she did not expect, and despite how stern he could be, there was a gentleness and honest concern in his choice of words that Kyla felt honestly touched by. This made the lesson sink even deeper then if it had it been screamed at her. Overall, while he was firm, the man was shockingly calm, and that calmness was infectious to her, it stopped her shoulders from shaking.

He was disappointed, right fully so, concerned of course, and forthright in his instructive attitude. He was determined for them to understand the error of their ways, but not in the condemning sense that left no hope, or gave a sense of abandonment.
She couldn't help but think... he sounded like how a wise father would in this instant, and it was exactly what the girl needed.

Like Kyle and James, Yen Sid gave the artist something she could work with.

Something to solve, and problem solving was her forte- it gave her a starting point. Up until now, Kyla had to admit… for all her power- all her creativity and diversity, her magic came with a sort of class ambiguity that left her at a loss of what she was truly ‘good’ at.

Everyone else had a fixed focus for their class, melee, defense, tank, glass canon, healer- but Kyla’s powers could go in any direction.

She was like a red mage, a jack of all trades. If she took enough time in one spectrum of skills Kyla could very likely hone them to greater heights to equal a specific paradigm. This was why her default was non-elemental after all.
The problem was, with no fixed direction, she ended up worrying about everything. Healing, defense, offence, and status. In her quest to become the perfect compliment to any of her allies should they need her- she was perhaps.. pulling herself too thin over everything.

Was she pushing herself too hard?
She remembered Kyle's words, and James-

'..maybe... I don't...have.. to try so hard?...'

~ Good Girl!~

Thats when she realized something else- she put the thought aside for now, it would have to wait till things were done- but it involved a talk with Joe and Kyle.

She must earn their trust. Alright then.

“- Do you both understand.” he had asked.

She couldn’t speak for Noelle, but Kyla nodded- “ Yes sir.”
She understood alright, and understood she would need help. Perhaps this could be something she could ask for help with. Only time will tell.

[Louis? : Mysterious Tower : Yen Sid's Study]]

The boy was silent, standing behind Kyla, watching the events unfold. He stepped around to the girl's right and looked at Noelle and Joe, with his head tilted to the side a bit. The others spoke, only drawing his attention away momentarily, but he seemed focused on the duo. His body language became further and further negative as he shoulders dropped and hands slowly closed into fists. As Yen Sid proceeded to turn to other subjects and focus on the girl's argument over plans and 'roles in battle' and wrapped up with the mostly rhetorical question, "Do you both understand?"

The bestial boy took a deep breath and raised his hand, "Uh, I have something I'd like to add. First off, I was the one who thought we might have been going about fighting that woman the wrong way and suggested it first, not Kyla. I thought we might be able to get through to her and maybe have everyone walk away alive instead of experiencing a needless, tragic loss of life... so can those two-" he motioned to Joe and Noelle, "-please stop beating her up for it, it's annoying.
Second, what was wrong with considering an alternative? That lady obviously needed help, we're the good guys aren't we? We are SUPPOSED to save people, we can't turn a blind eye just because it's inconvenient. Sure, it ended up not working, but wasn't it worth giving it a shot? Can you honestly say killing her without giving the alternative a chance would have been okay?"

With a depressed look back at Kyla he added on, "With the level of apathy you guys show towards someone in need, hell, even go as far as to reprimand someone who was there helping and protecting you who thought killing might not be the only answer... you guys don't come across very good at all. In fact, you've been pretty downright cruel and you should be apologizing to her. Kyla's my friend, and I won't stand to watch you attack her for your lack of a conscience."

[Nick :: New Orleans :: Cafe du Monde]

Oh joy, she's really amused by this. Time to be blunt, I suppose.

"Well, getting right down to the point, are we? Well, let's take a look at the board here. I'm an all powerful magical melee type class who very much enjoys the violence and the bloodshed, yet as far as complicated plots go, I'm not exactly the best at it. I wield an oversized transforming sword and my summon is an immortal dark deity connected to a collection of eldritch shadow creatures. You are a sarcastic, lustful, underhanded troublemaker support type character, following the stereotypical prissy evil queen tropes of never getting your hands dirty."

He paused, taking a sip of his drink before continuing.

"However, you seem to have a ridiculous amount of knowledge on magic and magical items, things I'm looking for. So, here's my thought. In return for healing me and possibly acquiring magical items, I'll be your blood knight. You want someone eliminated? Done. Magical item acquired? It's yours. It's not exactly much, but you know I'm a loyal lapdog for those who've shown me a kindness."

Nick placed the glass back on the table, then leaned back in his chair. "Of course, if you have a counteroffer, I'd be more than willing to listen."

[Kyla: Mysterious Castle: Yen Sid]

The familiar voice of the specter, who had become some kind of passenger inside her heart, made the girl raise her head and blinked at few times at where he was supposedly standing. Now in this quiet place where all eyes were on each other, Kyla was able to note his more bestial form and could help but draw parallels between him and Zidane in trance.

The gem on his forehead was like a Hindu bindi but a bit more pronounced. But that wasn’t what entirely what caught her attention it was what he said. The girl to onlookers would simply straighten up slowly and her eyes go a bit wider in realization, her gaze focused on something invisible.

As Louis spoke, she couldn’t’ help but smile pitifully, eyes almost brimming with moisture as no one else could hear him but her, but his gesture touched her none the less. It reminded her of when James supported her idea to originally help Louis in the first place- now more than ever she felt strongly convicted to do so. This was the real Louis. This was the person she wanted to try and save, her friend, and for now- the other protector presiding over her heart.

Kyla felt sorry for how things turned out. She felt sorry and apologetic for the danger that occurred. She felt sorry that people got hurt and her plan failed- she’d apologize for those thing but she doubt anyone wanted to hear them.
However one thing she would not feel sorry for was this- Even when faced with massive obstacles she could not, COULD not turn away from attempting to save everyone. It may not work, she may fail, but she could not help from at least giving it her all to try. Life itself, to her was just too precious to overlook. She felt obligated to others in this way to do her best.

This fundamental part of her seemed to be the very thing others disliked most in her.

The thing was part of her wanted to change in order to help- but a much stronger part of her refused to compromise with this moral.

“…thank you, but it’s ok. Just let it go, alright?” She muttered softly then realizing she tried to say it inwardly-

‘They can’t hear you. Only I can. I appreciate you standing up for me- it means a lot. Thank you.’ Even if just one did. That would be enough for her. As long as she wasn't alone. Thats enough.

[Dani:: Disney Castle :: Festival]
"I kind of remember square dancing." Dani admitted looking at Bobbi. "Although it wasn't as popular where I am from. They mostly did the YMCA, Cotton Eye Joe, and the Electric slide. Man I miss the electric slide."

When Demyx extended a hand to her Dani immediately blushed before poking the hand with a single finger. "You do realize that I would probably step on your toes since I never really danced with a guy before," Dani said embarassingly before turning to Bobbi. "Also no Bobbi you do not seem innocent and Demyx doesn't really seem too gentlemanly if I remember right. Is it alright if I dance with him or should I stay here?"

{Bobbi, Demyx, Zell, Red XIII .:. Disney Castle Town .:. Fairgrounds .:. Dancing Area}

Demyx pouted at Bobbi as she insulted his gentleman status, giving her his biggest hurt puppy look ever. Instead of having the intended effect, though, the look made Bobbi laugh, and Demyx shrugged and grinned. Can't win them all, he figured. When Dani poked his hand and claimed she'd squash his feet, he plastered a bewildered expression on his face.

"Yeah, right!" he said, trying to sound sincere in his perplexity. He gently grabbed the hand that had been poking his, and pulled her close, positioning her free hand on his shoulder and his own on her waist."You can't be that clumsy. And besides, I'm the best dancer in the world! Now, this is how to waltz..."

Bobbi stepped away, the "what am I, your boyfriend?" retort to Dani dying on her tongue as Demyx whisked the water bender off. The music had calmed to, appropriately, a lovely waltz that Bobbi was surprised she recognized. It was one of her favorite instrumental pieces, and she decided to simply listen and enjoy the music for a bit. She watched Demyx and Dani dancing for a moment, then retired to the side of the dance floor, where Joe, Nanaki, and Zell were standing.

"We didn't get a proper hello," Bobbi insisted to Zell, holding her arms out for a hug. With a grin, he bent down to embrace her, then surprised a yelp out of her by picking her up and spinning in place a little, though he took care not to accidentally hit Joe with Bobbi's feet. "Holyshitwhatareyoudoingputmedown!!!"

"Haha, sorry, I just couldn't resist," the monk said laughingly as he set the archer back on her feet. She grabbed his arm to steady herself for a moment, then hit him in the shoulder.

"Don't do that to me, Jesus crap!"

[ Noelle ~ Mysterious Tower ~ Yen Sid's Study]

Noelle chewed on her lower lip as Yen Sid spoke. His words were calm, but the criticism they contained was harsh. He was one hundred percent correct, but the reprimanding was still difficult on top of how hard she was already being on herself. She would certainly be remembering it all in the future, though. That was what was important--remembering this slip-up and preventing it in the future.

"Yessir." Noelle said softly, averting her eyes slightly.

[ Yen Sid ; Sora ; Riku : Mysterious Tower : Yen Sid's Tower --> with Kyle and Merlin : Disney : Hall of the Cornerstone ]

He nodded in acknowledgement, stroking his beard softly. "Good. Then we should all move on."

Momentarily, his gaze turned to James, and it seemed to grow cold before he closed his eyes and shook his head. "I would have had James explain himself next, but as he has already relieved himself, there is no need. As such, that leaves us with the last on our agenda--Sora!"

The teen immediately jolted into attention, standing straight and stiff in front of the wizard.

Yen Sid stood as well, and though Sora was the main focus, he addressed the group as a whole. "Mistakes were made, but the results should not be diminished: you were all successful in purging a potent darkness from your friend and ally, all without a loss. Kyle will not only live, but be able to continue his journey with you, because of your actions today."

"These actions came at great risk. Once again, Sora, you became the target of possession by the forces of darkness," he said, looking to the young keyblade wielder. "However, your heart endured. You resisted their will, and pushed back the darkness all your own. In doing so, today you have proven yourself worthy of the Keyblade."

"Sora," he went on, and for the first time, a small smile crept onto his face. "It is an honor to finally welcome you into the ranks as a new, true Keyblade Master."

Sora's entire posture changed, as his jaw dropped and eyes widened. Off to the side, Riku was chuckling, smirking in his friend's direction. It was only a few moments before he suddenly leapt up, whooping victoriously. Then, just as suddenly, he went back to attention, clearing his throat and bowing sheepishly.

"Thank you, Master Yen Sid," he replied formally, his voice calm--though only barely. "I promise to do my best."

"I believe you will, young man. Now, let us return," he replied, still smiling. "The festival will give you ample opportunity to celebrate, as you well should--as all of you should. As I have said, today, you have not failed, but succeeded. Rejoice in that."

With a nod of his head, everyone was suddenly whisked away in a flurry of starry smoke, returning once more to the Hall of the Cornerstone.

---

Reappearing in the large, white hall, the group would have been met with both Merlin and a now-conscious Kyle.

"Goooooooood mornin," he said, barely managing a wave as he leaned on Merlin's shoulder.

Okay, so barely conscious.

"How is he?" Yen Sid asked, raising a brow.

"All together and spotless now, though he really should rest," he said, struggling to keep the man from falling. "He insisted on sticking around until you returned."

"And noooow I should lie down," he said, tone slurred in exhaustion. He blinked slowly. "Hmmmmmm. Now. Yeah."

"Wha-no!" Merlin shouted, barely catching the young man from falling backward onto the hard marble floor. He grunted as he struggled to maintain posture. "No you don't. We're getting you to a room."

"Pffftokay."

[Joe: Mysterious Tower: Yen Sid's Study -> Disney: Hall of the Cornerstone]

The male let out a breath he had been holding once they seemed to be done reporting to Yen Sid. It didn't help that Joe had tensed up when James spoke out of turn, but it seemed that everything went as well as could be expected otherwise. Which made Joe wonder if he would ever command the attention of a room as well as the wise old man before him...

Before he could dwell on it for too long, Sora whooped, and Joe blinked out of his thoughts. Well, something good seemed to have come out of this.

With a poof of smoke, they were all back at the cornerstone room, and Joe cocked his head at Kyle and Merlin. Well, Kyle was doing...better. Joe had to assume the poor guy was tuckered out from everything. Just as well.

Though, seeing Merlin helping Kyle...sparked something in Joe's mind. He felt a little bad after thinking about it, too.

"...Hey um...Merlin?" He rubbed his arm where his tattoo was as he looked away. He then sighed and refocused on the mage. "Is Rae..." He trailed off. He didn't know if he wanted to ask if she was okay, or if she was any different, or here...it seemed hard for him to broach the subject.

[[Louis? : Fair Grounds : Inside Bobbi]]

The phantasmal boy heard the music and began making small steps in place as the others conversed and he merely observed with some jovial amusement. He stopped and nearly tripped on himself when the nobody from before began dancing with the shy girl, "Oh, darn, look at that. See? I told you you should have snatched him up while you had the cha-" he stopped mid sentence as she was greeted by yet another man, this time lifted off her feet and spun around, "Ooooh, scandal! The other man appears. I don't know... hard to decide... this one is cute too. Which to ship, which to ship... OT3 maybe?"

At the point the ghostly young man had maneuvered behind Zell and was looking over his shoulder at Bobbi, waggling his eyebrows with a mischievous smile on his face, "You like to hit the men who flirt with you? This your means of showing affection? Tsundere? Or maybe..." the boy turned bright red as some indecent though ran through his head, "Never mind. To each their own. Though, I suppose this one looks sturdier than the dancer, could probably take a good amount of punishment. I suggest this guy." another pause another thought, "Or better yet, reverse harem."

[Kyla: Mysterious Tower/ Yen Sids Tower> Disney: Hall of the Cornerstone]

She was glad that things turned out alright, and in Sora’s case even better than expected. Not that she felt she was any help now. Not anymore.
Mistakes had been made- but the result should not be diminished? It was easier said than done. She tried to smile, she really, truly did, but there was no laughter in her eyes. James who had got to see what it really looked like would know the difference now. Kyla smiled because she did believe the others deserved to celebrate, laugh and relax for the time being.
They worked hard, and this was their reward.
She on the other hand- had work to do.

It was all she could think about. Here away from the warmth and aura that sustained her spent mind and body-

‘You have not failed-‘ he said,
But-then why does it keep feeling like she had? Why did it feel like she kept failing? That it was all she did despite the actual series of events. She was supposed to smile out of relief but after these events, this feeling couldn’t possibly allow her to rejoice.

I want to, but I can’t. This smile isn’t real. I can’t let them see- don’t’ let them see. Be a good girl. A good ally and smile, then when you get your chance- get back to work.

When they reappeared in the hall she had a plan to do just that. Smile, bid everyone goodnight, but in actual fact, maybe go back to the library. She had something she had to work on for the future. She needed to learn more about these limit breaks, today just revealed to her how ignorant she could be, and there was no room for error. She could NOT afford to be wrong like that again- what if they had actually trusted her? What fi things went a turn for the worse?! In a sick messed up way, it was very possible that Noelle’s mistrusted stopped something from going wrong.

That though put a sick feeling in her stomach. Good thing to- for had they not returned she felt like she was about to throw up.

So tired. Cold, it hurts… tired cold, it hurts… tired so tired cold, and it-

Her foot felt stone marble, instead of the carpet.

Ok not so much anymore. Thank goodness.
The boosting presence of the stone was back, but she did look notably more pale again. Kyle’s sing sgon tone of voice brought her eyes up from the floor where they had been staring the rest the time without her realizing. He looked… familiar?

“Kyle?” her tone cautious.

Was it really him? Was it REALLY Kyle again? And if so what Kyle was he?
That’s when Joe spoke up again Rae. Ah- yes… Rae. everything was always happening so fast-It felt like they had only broached the fact in passing between all kinds of holy hell and chaos. Rae had been lost. In that moment a flash of Rae went through her mind-

The soft long hair tired back in a ribbon. Her classic white-mage like attire, her bubbly personality. She remembered that time she, Sora, and Cory rushed after a brain washed Joe. It was mayhem, but they survived. “Kyla! You saved me!”

She remembered her saying. That look on her face, so grateful and relieved was etched into her memory. Back when Kyla had just begun blossoming into the full scope of her defensive powers. That wall she erected between them and the Geists- filled with her spirit to keep them from slipping through like that the ghosts they were…

She had been helpful then, a team mate then, they could count on her then. Somehow, along the way that promise just vanished like a puff of smoke. Where did it go?

Rae…

“Where are they keeping her here?” she asked out loud to them for anyone to answer.

{James : Mysterious Tower : Yen Sid's Tower -> Disney : Hall of the Cornerstone}

James remained silent after he had spoken out of turn, Yen Sid's imperious gaze as he had spoken had made him feel extremely uncomfortable to the point that he had almost stopped talking immediately. After Noelle and Kyla had both stated they understood, Yen Sid turned that gaze to the corsair again, though only briefly before he spoke again. The corsair felt slightly relieved that Yen Sid didn't insist that he explained himself because he wasn't entirely sure he could, even if he tried. Yen Sid's focus then turned to Sora. However, he spoke to all, the corsair nodded in silent agreement, regardless of what had happened, regardless of the mistakes that were made, they had been successful, Kyle would be fine. There was definitely solace to be had in that. To top that off, they were here to witness what the corsair would consider to be e momentous occasion, as Yen Sid declared Sora to be a true Keyblade Master, The corsair couldn't help but smile as he watched Sora's reaction.

With no further business to take care of Yen Sid transported them all back to the Hall of the Cornerstone, the return of it's effect immediately evident to the corsair, who was glad to have it back. His focus turned towards Kyle though as he greeted them whilst leaning on Merlin's shoulder, clearly about to crash. At least he was awake though and back to the way he should be, that was enough for the corsair.

The focus of Joe and Kyla shifted to Rae, their lost white mage. With everything that had happened lately, the corsair hadn't really thought all that much about her, not because he didn't care. He just didn't want to think about it, unlike Joe, who definitely had taken losing her very hard. He had liked her, but hadn't really connected with her very much. He wasn't sure if seeing her seemingly sleeping form was what he wanted right now. His focus turned back to Yen Sid, whom he had been intending to talk to since his conversation with Kyla.

'If anyone has any advice about how best to prevent Kuro Oni, or anyone else from taking control of me again, it's Yen Sid, and right now, I could really use all the advice I can get,'
