Well, quite long for me. Wifi is completely shot in my house, meaning only one system can be online at a time, and no TV options on any TV in the house. We called Verizon on Monday to figure out what went wrong. Turns out it was a problem with my modem communicating with my router. We've not had a new modem in at least 7 years, so they offered to send us a new modem/router combo. It was going to be free since we have been their customer for 14 years. Well, we were promised to get it on Wednesday. No modem. Nor on Thursday, or on Friday. We called, and had to talk to at least three people today.
Turns out that the modem was delivered to our old address, despite them confirming my address several times. The box was delivered on Wedesday- and is gone. No modem. After fighting like mad, we got them to resend a modem for free since they were the ones to lose the first one. However . . . that means over a week without TV, movies, netflix, etc in the house. I only can get online at my wife's comp, and it is just a royal pain. I miss being online and comfortable at the same time.
Won't get my modem till likely Monday. stare

Oh, that's terrible. Despite the delay, I am glad they're giving you a replacement. Hopefully the installation/setup goes smoothly.
I had a similar but thankfully much shorter experience like that 2 years ago; I felt especially isolated since I was working at my college during the summer, so the campus was nearly deserted.

yeah, my phone was my lifeline, but my data is dangerously high in usage now. I don't dare use my phone for net unless Wifi is available. At the moment, that means nowhere but work- and I was off for 5 days for my anniversary with my wife.
Tomorrow, back to work. Tomorrow, supposed to get wifi back.

Did you enjoy the time w/ your wife, even w/o proper internet?
So today is a mixed blessing

Alas, the modem issue continues. The first time, it was to arrive on Wednesday, and lo- it made it. This time? Nope. Nothing on the day promised. UPS has it for "early delivery" on Tuesday, so it may show up tomorrow. It might show up Wednesday. Who knows?
We had some good times. Did a LOT of driving. Drove about 90 minutes in three separate directions took a toll on my nerves. Still, there were good times to be had.

Too bad. Hopefully it has come already.
I'm not a fan of road trips either. I generally like to stay at a given destination at least as long as the round trip takes; otherwise it just doesn't feel worth it.

They are indeed, and I have to say the new modem/router from Verizon is working better than I thought it would.

Good, I'm glad. I've heard good things about their internet service (FIOS, i think).
