I'm 17, but I'm in college because my mom made me graduate early from high school. If you ever feel like hearing someone b***h about something, ask me about it.

Anyways, I don't know what I'm studying, but I'm finding that I'm really not cut out for humanities/language related topics. So, I'll probably be a math/science person. So, yeah.

And stuff.

So what's the biggest complaint about graduating early?

Ah, but most of you probably didn't have a 1.2 GPA in senior year.

I...umm....well damn. eek

Exactly.

Without trying to insult or pry, but how the hell do you manage that? eek eek

Sometimes I wonder.

But seriously, it's easy, just be so arrogant that you feel that you're above every single homework assignment that comes your way, and then don't do them.

To beaufleur: I can't think of anything at the moment, except to stick with it and copy edit and most certainly don't expect your first (or second, or third, or fourth) submission to get accepted.

I am also under 18, though not for much longer, and only in high school. Grasscutter, you're lucky your school offers such interesting courses, half my classes are rather boring.

My passion is history and gaming, my mom is a published Fantasy/Sci-Fi author who writes under the name Kate Elliott. My dad has a Ph.D in Anthropolgy and works for the DoD finding MIA American soldiers in other couuntries. I actually inherited my passion for gaming from them, in comparison to their success, i'm so lazy I may fail high school.

Wow, a lot of you make me feel, rather incompotent.

Don't feel that, because you're not - you'll find your niche which can be challenging when both parental units are successful .... and shoot ... gaming is never going to die ... but ... xd it might go holographic!!

Say, does your mom have tips on how to finally get published??

I hope the gaming industry goes Holographic, But what I really want is for the industry to be able to produce games that break the Computer-Nervous system barrier. That is, the Game plugs into your Central Nervous System and throws your conscience into the game.

Independent films are beginning to take hold even more. This was a sad, sad year for the big studios and people are beginning to realize that many foreign films kick ours to the curb. I live in a city that hosts an international film festival and it's growing by leaps and bounds every year. The field is wide open right now.

Only to be over taken by the Video Game industry, with the release of new hardware, the possibilities are endless. Where as, technologically, the Movie industry remains rather static.

That I didn't feel like I had a choice in it. And that I would get yelled at if I said anything about it. And the stuff about how horrible it is for me to put any value on social life when I could just be academicking myself to death.

It's early, and I'm not in a pissy mood, so this isn't a bitchrant.

I agree to a degree .... heh ..... Lucas began once again revolutionizing everything by filming the last two SW completely on digital ... 'course his prediction that in the near future we would have no more need for 'live' actors and actresses went over like a lead balloon .... but with CG improving constantly and more sites going up with home animation .... the sky's the limit! The industry's slow to catch up but they'll go where the money is ....

Whereas other industrys will leave it in the dust. Hopefully we can rely on the Europeans to entertain us at the movie theather. Lord knows they're already cornering the Movie market.

Currently, the forefront of technology is in games. The games are getting first dibs, and the movie industry is taking some of those concepts, but as more polished versions with more scripted parts.

Think rendered cutscene in a game.

Heh. I could very well currently be the youngest member in this guild at 14.

Eh, doesn't matter. What matters to me is if I can find a good intelligent discussion. Which I think is already an established fact in this guild.
