xAsh-chanx SweetKanashimi i think ive hear about some sort of gay/bi/lez day, but i dont know if its national. it was ridiculous tho, to celebrate everyone was supposed to have a moment of silence or something. but i think it would be better if we talked about issues of prejudice against gays instead of a silence. better to try to resolve an issue than just dwell on the sadness of our oppression, right? very true Eh, I kinda disagree. The Day of Silence is meant to be used in conjuction with talking before and/or after it. The silence does effectively raise awareness. We had over 125 people participating at our school this year, and it worked very well. When that number of people aren't talking, people notice. They become motivated to find out the why their classmates aren't talking. If we had just had an assembly or something, how many people do you think would have paid attention? The day of silence is meant to be symbolic. It shows instead of just tells.

"sorry ma'am you cant sit in that seat cuz your black, you have to stand"
"sorry guys you cant adopt because your gay"
descrimination is started over with a new group and its called us. lets kill the government. heart
