"Sorry kiddo, their strawberry ice cream was kinda melty, so I had to get it in a cup instead of the cones you like." Tsu said making his way to the beach spot. He noticed that Zavier was making his way over to the spot from the other direction, enjoying the breeze thouroughly.
Kai on the other hand just started whimpering pitifully a little as he tried to keep from crying. Suddenly his day had gone from epic... to pathetic. "I don't want ice cream anymore. My hands feel gross. They're wet and sticky feeling." Kai managed, his lip quivering a little as he still tried to act tough.
Tsu sighed a little as he set down the cup of melting ice cream. "Did you try wiping them? Here's some wet naps... let's try that."
Kai mumbled something in displeasure as he tried Tsu's recommendation. "It's not working my hands still feel all melty!!!"
It was almost like the strangest form of witchcraft, as the wet nap was moved away, it looked as if Kai's hands were starting to lose their shape. Almost similar to wax melting slowly as the flame flickers too close.
"See!!!!" he squeeked in horror and a little bit of morbid fascination.
"...s**t."
Think Tsu, Think!! He was good at these things usually... but suddenly there was a panic going on. He probably wasn't helping any. Take a deep breath... think logically. "First? Calm down. Your hands aren't melting, and you need to think clearly. Next? We'll go back and see what we can do. That gross feeling is odd."
Zavier was reaching them as they were packing up all their belongings. He looked confused and a little hurt that they'd be leaving so soon... but emergencies were to come first. "...but... I just got here." He managed.
"Sorry Zave..." Tsu offered with a weak smile "Kai has an emergency we need to take care of. Feel free to stay out here a while and do what you'd like. Next time, I promise I'll come out with you and we'll do what you want to."
Zave took the proffered pinky in his with a sour look on his face. This would have to do. Meanwhile, revenge methods were running through his head. At least the wind was raging just as much to match his mood.
================================================
When they arrived home, Tsu listened to the messages on his phone. Apparently Jack and Evie had called and set up a location to meet as well as a time. There were some things they needed to compare about what was going on. Plus... they decided on a bar... and Tsu could really go for a drink right about now.
Kai finally decided that when he had to tell this story to others, it would be the "Melty Hands Fiasco of 2007". With a firm nod of his head, it was set that Evie should be the first to hear about this tale.

Unfortunately for the young Drinkable! babe, things were about to get a bit sticky. Literally. The consistency of his hands shift suddenly from slimly to incredibly sticky. A stickiness similar to having hands covered in grade A glue! Well, maybe it could be turned into something useful?

"Boredddddd" The familiar tone from Kai came echoing through the apartment. That was until a familiar form came floating into view. "Hey Zave!! Zave!!! wanna go pl--" Kai was cut off as the door to his own room was shut in front of his face. Stuck in the cup it wasn't like he could go over and open the door either. Huffing in his cup, he sat and sulked. No one ever went out of their way to ignore him like that before and he didn't like it.
Leaning one arm on his cup, he rested his cheek on one hand only to notice... it stuck. Not the wet clamping stickiness like normal... but more the strong industrial glue stickiness that Tsu used to paste the papers to the wall. Situating himself better, he tried to pull his hand free and finally succeeded. This is something new to develop.
Tsu was coming home late that night after a full day at the lab. He was tired and a little frustrated that the data wasn't making any sense. With a fuse short by a few meters, it only took the piercing howl of his kid to send him closer to the edge of breakdown.
"Tsuu!!! Tsuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!" Kai hollered, breaking the silence of the apartment. Oddly Zavier was nowhere to be found, but it would be little wonder that even his other kid had his patience tested by these recent events.
"Kai, what did I tell you about hollering in the apartment?"
"To only do it when I was in dire emergency? Which this is."
"Yeah. What's the matter? Else you better not be crying wolf."
"But I was crying Tsuu!!! Tsuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!"
"Cute. No really, what's wrong."
"My hands aren't melty anymore."
"That's good. Although they were just really slimy, never melty."
"Lemme finish! They're all sticky now. Crazy glue sticky. Watch" With a firm wet SMACK Kai clapped his hands together. Then tried to pull them apart. Had he been thinking he would have realized mixing sticky and sticky together, it would be even harder to pull apart.
"Oh fer chrissake...." Tsu grabbed onto each forearm and pulled the hands apart as gently as possible. No telling what damage he would do by being forceful.
"I'm not sure what to say, we could try increasing the amount of soda water you have. That might help dilute things a little bit. Let me go get some now."
Kai just looked glumly at the prospect of maybe being forced to wear gloves so he wouldn't stick to everyone. How embarassing would that be anyway?
"Well... if we can't fix this, at least I know that I can stick all my important memos to your hands and know exactly where to find them."
Kai sobbed a little until Tsu comforted him and apologized for the tactless joke. They'd work this out somehow... but it looked like another long night.

Once the evening hours set in Kai's sticky traction lessens to a steady momentary hold that gives easily. An improvement, but far from cured. Whenever the young Drinkable! sticks to something a white powder hand print is left behind. Could this be hours of fun or hours of clean up? Kai now had something he could use to keep himself very entertained.

"Hey! Look!!!!" Kai was calling for anyone within earshot. Particularly Zavier as Tsu was out to work again and decided he had enough of a headache for the time being. There was still work at the labs that needed to get done after all. Zave was still ignoring Kai however. Attention hog was really getting on his nerves. "My hands can stick to the walls like suck shun cups!"
Kai had discovered his hands only mildly stick to surfaces now. A lot more amusement to him than the whole sticking to his face incident from the previous nights. Not to mention this crazy white powder was left in perfect shape of his handprints.
"Would you just shove it?" Zave glared irritably at his brother. "And stop screwing around. I won't be blamed if you fall and get hurt." With that, Zave moved Kai out of distance from any substance that he could use to climb out of the cup. He didn't want to be blamed for bad consequences to his brother.
Kai just let out a bored "Hrmph" and went back to making handprints everywhere. Wouldn't Tsu be surprised? At least nothing major was going wrong. It just look like a small powdery flour fight went on throughout the house instead.

The powder, when agitated, makes small wisps and spiraling shapes in the air giving Kai something to entertain himself with. The more powder he agitates at a time the bigger the swirling airborne pattern created. After the white dust floats off it settles onto the floor and along any flat surfaces nearby. The stickiness of his hands may have gone, but let the fun party on!

Who needs Zavier anyway? Kai decided. These powder swirls are a lot more interesting than any ol' stupid flying... thing. Once more Kai shifted around in his drink and watched as a greater wisp of the powder floated and danced in the sun for him before retiring to the floor around where he was situated. He didn't even notice the amount of time pass as he kept shifting to create a thunderhead in powder.
"Oi! What the bloody hell is going on in here?! What is this mess???" Tsu's voice raged on in the hallway where the hand prints were. It seemed like ages ago to Kai, but it was only earlier this morning. How fast time passes in the land of the attention deficient.
"Zave, you have any idea what all this is??"
"I told him to knock it off while I was watching a movie. He learned he could make handprints by sticking to things." Zave's voice came tiredly back.
That little snitch! He'd pay! Kai fumed and stirred up a new swirl of white powder at exactly the wrong time. Y'know, sorta like the time you let out a curse in a classroom and everyone is silent... well this dust cloud swirled forth just as Tsu opened the door.
"Kai! Stop making a mess! I mean, I come home after a long day in the office, a lot of paperwork and messes to clean up, and here you are making a new project in how to be obnoxious?!? You really need to grow up and take responsibility for your actions." Tsu didn't ask for any explanation. He just came in accusing. BIG mistake. This stung Kai through and through. Forget them both!
"Maybe I wouldn't do this if YOU actually bothered to pay attention and take care of me! You act so selfishly, yet try to pretend like you care. Maybe you should take care of yourself first before ever having one of us!" Tears were getting ready to well up in Kai's eyes. He couldn't take this anymore. "You're such a horrible father! You shouldn't even have kids!"
Without thinking Tsu shouted back hotly, "Maybe you're right! I certainly never asked to have a little turd like you!" It was like a verbal slap that was heard around the world. As soon as the words left his mouth, he felt the sour taste on his tongue and regretted ever thinking such a thing.
"Get. out." Kai's voice was seething and all he would show was his back.
"Kai... listen I'm sorry I --"
"GETOUT!!!!"
I royally ******** this one up Tsu thought bitterly.
"I'll be in the hall if you need anything..."
With that, the door had closed once again, setting an oppressive overtone across the whole apartment. Was it really a good idea not to find a cure all for him? What was that number to call? Or would it be too late by now? Tsu was more lost than ever before.

Conveniently enough, a casual pop-up add comes onto Tsu's computer monitor when he starts it up. Normally it would have been blocked by the pop-up blocker or closed, but this ad was an advertisement for none other than Uncle Al's Cure All Elixir. Uncle Al always managed to find a way through to his needy audience.
Meanwhile, Kai's condition hasn't improved and in fact has grown only more "amusing". The pattern has shifted to that of a firework arrangement. When sent up, a puff of dust collides and rains down little tendrils of powder back down leaving a wispy trail hanging in the air. Who knows what other tricks this dust could do!

A pop up? On his computer?!? It looked like the pop up blockers and spam filters will have to be upped once more. Tsu thought grimly as he peeked his head into the room where the computer was set up for videos. Something about the flashing caught his eyes though. It was that same Cure All Elixir! Was it a stroke of convenient luck or just someone spying on his every move? <******** it. Tsu decided, clicking on the link.
Within a few minutes, the information had been placed into the field and an electronic application was sent for a couple bottles of the miracle drug. Even if he didn't use it, they might come in handy someday. After all, it hardly seems like there is such a thing as a cure all for the shitty way he handled talking to Kai. Maybe with time and effort he could repair that a little though.
In his room, the display of the dust was in stark contrast to Kai's disposition. Explosions of dust like fireworks crackled across the sky, leaving the ghostly patterns hanging in the air before fading away. He never felt so alone until he reached this point. It sucked. It was worse than being stuck on that shelf with Kaze.
"If only there was someone to talk to." Kai muttered dejectedly as he sent another puff of smoke into the air. This one oddly seemed closer to a smoke signal than the normal fireworks display. Just before he called out for Tsu, Kai thought better. He didn't want to see him. Not yet. Maybe this was something he could figure out himself?

Tsu gets a reply message from the Uncle Al's company saying he will receive his order within 3 to 5 business days.
Meanwhile, Kai will find that he's grown a little in height. His cut bottle seems less like the barrier it had been before. In fact, it's barely much of one at all. Looking down the young Drinkable! will see all the dust he's accumulated. With his new added height he could easily bend over the rim of his bottle and assemble some "snow friends" or whatever struck his fancy. Extra height without the growing pains is a pretty good deal!

Three to Five Business days? That's not too bad Tsu decided, Still enough time to run off with all my money and never be heard from again though. Finally deciding he should just keep a firm eye on his credit card activity and make sure more transactions weren't going out when he wasn't authorizing them.
Meanwhile Kai had found that things seemed to have become easier to reach. Especially trouble. Leaning over the edge of his makeshift cup, Kai started to gather the dust he created into a pile, forming it similar to a sand castle out on the beach he saw Zavier and the other dark Raevan make.
First the area for the head, then a body slumed so it was face down on the table where he was situated. Lastly, the legs. It was a small doppleganger Kai, laying face down on a table.
Next came the trickiest part of all... moving himself and his cup to a position where they could hide. The stack of books was close enough, but for scooting inch by inch while trying not to spill liquid, it was at least the length of a football field, if not more. As he moved along, puffs of dust shot off like fireworks, this prank would be HI-LARIOUS.
Finally reaching his hiding spot, Kai breathed deep. "EYAHHHHHHHHHHHGH" His voice pierced through the quiet of the apartment.
"Kai? You alright in there?" Tsu was at the door knocking gently. No response.
"Kai? This isn't funny. I'm opening the door."
Kai tried his hardest to stifle a giggle as the door opened, to show Tsu, panic stricken to see his Drinkable! out of the cup.
"Oi Kai.. you okay? Speak up! C'mon... Oh god I'm in so much trouble... the drinks aren't supposed to be outta their cups." Just as he was about to touch what looked like the corpse of his drink, the powder crumbled and spread out once more. Tsu choked.
Seeing that Tsu actually did care about him, Kai taking a little pity finally spoke up. "Just stop ignoring me. I don't like it."
"Just...please don't do that again. I don't know how much I can take" Tsu mumbled wiping his eyes. "Wait... did you grow taller or did your cup shrink?"

Although Kai is now taller and more capable he has suddenly developed a sensitivity to dust and dust is all he's created for the past day! He's ceased making more dust, but there is plenty in the room to be allergic to. Puffy, watery eyes and sneezing gallore! The young Drinkable! is stuck in a hayfield!

It was back to the sneezing. Almost seemed that an endless loop of symptoms were occuring, and no one could really say what would happen next. Kai's eyes grew red with the puffiness, as he couldn't help but rub the watering sockets. "It's so dry... I think... I think I'm allergic to myself."
"...but how can you be allergic to yourself?!" Tsu exclaimed, medical reasoning lost in this case, "If that were true, you'd have been a goner by now!"
Kai had to admit it was true. Not to mention his brain felt thick as all the dust around him. Hard to think when he couldn't breathe normally after all.
Zave finally floated in after finding that being alone wasn't all that great either. "It's a mess in here! Why don't we just clean it up a little with some fresh air?" The raevan wanted a reason to open a window and catch some of the breeze before it died down again.
Granted, all that air managed to do was stir up more dust, until all three were coughing and sneezing. It seemed that Kai had it the worst though. The irritation in his eyes was nearly blinding and he couldn't stop sneezing.
"Hey Zave, take him out to get some real fresh air. I'll follow in just a second." Tsu decided enough was enough. He couldn't breathe in this room, and neither could anyone else. It was time for a change in scene.
Out in the living room, Kai still had a little bit of sneezing fits and his eyes were still a little watery from the experience, but at least he could breathe. "I can live again!" he exclaimed excitedly. Even the stirring around in his cup didn't seem to send up the dust as it had once before. "I wonder why I felt so dead in my room..."
Looking around, the dust was the only major difference between the common room and Kai's room. Of course, the dust! It was only after the air stirred up more dust that Kai started his sneezing fit. However, looking around the bachelor pad... there was no way that room contained the only amount of dust. Would Kai manage to survive the apartment overhaul? It was spring cleaning time again after all. And where do you find masks small enough for a drink?
"Zave, would you mind watching Kai outside for a bit while I start to tidy up the apartment a bit?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"No... no not really." With a smirk, Tsu was out the door and looking for the cleaning supplies.

Kai's condition remains fairly stable when removed from all the dust. His symptoms have disappeared for the time being and all seems well until he starts to sneeze again. Strangely enough Zavier's hair has started this new allergic attack!

Finally. Peace and quiet around Kai. Zave thought peacefully sitting outside on the balcony with Kai. Tsu had finally finished cleaning inside the apartment, but he still wanted to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. Kai was resting peacefully on the balcony too, enjoying the new view he could see by looking down.
That was, until one of the strands of hair from Zave came close. It was like a tickle in his nose and another "Ha...CHOOO!".
"What's wrong? More dust?" Zave looked a little concerned and took Kai back into the apartment. "Is it getting cold out there?"
"No... tha--ha---choo that isn't it." Kai said sniffling and eyes watering again. "Sumfing tickled my node..."
"Maybe there was some dust in my hair..." Zave fretted as he put the drink down in his room again. "I'll be back in a bit, need to shower and get that out of there."
"Kay"
Returning back from the shower, Zave noticed that Kai seemed better. So it must have been more dust that struck up the attack. Coming back in after drying his hair with a towel, Zave set the damp cloth down next to Kai.
"Ha---- Ha---- ChooO!"
That's odd... was there no dust anymore in his hair... That's when it struck him... the hair itself was causing the problem. Am I finally getting my wish for not being stuck taking care of Kai? Although it sucks he's allergic to me...maybe just to white...? no wait he's white too...
"Tsu, your turn to come in and take care of Kai!" Zave called out leaving with the towel. At least he could pass on babysitter duties now. Not always a bad thing.
