Jcsb1993 Dude-LAP Jcsb1993 I'm planning on joining the varsity squad in two years. Next year I'll be in high school for my freshman year, so I think I'll play JV for the first year. If Binghamton U gets a football team going, I think I could make it on the team in a few years as an outside linebacker or defensive end. I'd really love to play OLB in a 3-4 though. It depends on what the linebacker corps looks like next year in JV, I think. Between me, Charles, Dindar, and Dan, I think a 3-4 would play out really well. I never liked 3-4 defensive schemes, and they usually never work in high school. Anyways, I was looking into maybe going to SUNY Binghamton. Really? I've always loved 3-4. SUNY Binghamton is a good school, and you'd be like 5 minutes away from me smile Yeah, Binghamton is cool. ...But back to 3-4, it doesn't work too well in my eyes...The nose tackle gets fatigued easily. Teams can pound the inside game by running on the ground. Linebackers tend to look more at the QB, and if you have a deceptive QB like Manning or Brady (who use their eyes to fool coverage), it leads to easy passes. You give the QB a hell of a lot of time to make a decision, which hurts you badly. You tend to lose the physical part of the game, which makes one team superior and the others' mentality diminished. Your best defensive end usually gets double teamed. Strong offensive lineman are usually more successful in picking up linebacker blitzes...I can go on a bit more, but you get the picture. In order to establish a successful 3-4, you need experienced veterans who are athletic, with great knowledge of the game, and the ability to make the QB make mistakes. It's touch to achieve, but when done, it's extremely successful.

Jcsb1993 Yeah...but if we run a 4-3 I have to play DE... Well I was just talking about the logic of the game, and the success of a 4-3. Yeah, it's exciting to play a 3-4, especially if you're a "free" linebacker, which you seem to want to play. Yet a 4-3 is much more stable.

Well, I'm just saying, I'm tall, fast, well-built...I think that would be the best position available.

Thor Octavius thanks man..i hope so..did u play college ball? lol...I'm just a senior in high school, but I want to. I'm probably good enough to play college soccer, but I don't think football. Maybe a receiver, safety, or cornerback in a small college. I really want to play linebacker, though, but I'm not big enough.
