I have recently watched Burst Angel Volume One DVD. It seemed decent especially since I bought it with a gift card. It has above PG-13 action, it hold's a story behind it that fuels the character's decisions, and can be related to by some. It kinda fit's the usual post-apocolyptic scenario that when it's come's to it, it's every person for themselves. Also a new organization comes in the picture to take over the police, resulting in more crimes but less arrests do to killing of the criminals on the street.

A group of four females (from ages 12-28?) are trying to making a living in this corrupted future Japan (isn't it always that?). This including mercenary jobs. Lot's of shooting, explosions, and not much jiggle factor so if your trying to get a nosebleed (check Naruto) you best look somewhere else.

If you have a chance, atleast check into it I say. If not, then pass it on to other people that might be interested.

Next, I am hoping to watch Desert Punk, a recently released tale of mercenary sniper's in a dessert, fighting for money, water, and life.

Maybe someone can help me find my long lost anime.

When I was a kid(about 10 years ago) there was an anime show on Kids WB. Now this was when Kids WB was on sunday's and not saturday's.

It follows the story of Earth defending itself against a secret organization (maybe aliens landing on Earth to take it over) that engineered humans. These humans could bond(?) with a specific crystal roughly in the shape of a cross or a star and gain a super mechanical suit of armour. I can't remember if the size of armour was that of a human. It was set somewhat in the future with some technology advancement.

It was my first anime that I ever watched, possibly before the first season of Dragon Ball being aired on Fox. If anyone else remembers the show or even know's the name, then I would much appreciate it.

Hmmm... I'm not a fan of it, but I have a feeling that you might be talking about Evangelion? No wait... That's a rather mature anime for Kids WB... Sorry, I'm not quite sure if I can help. Ten years ago I was three and didn't know the wonders of japanese animation. :p
PostPosted: Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:30 pm

No, it isn't Evangelion. I would know because I watch it now and no recollection is happening. Maybe some more explanation.

The main character was part of the villain's army and sent to a settlement to destroy it. But he get's amnesia and instead help's the Earthlings. Other member's of the villain's army come to fight the main character. Eventually his sister show's up to kill him, and switches sides in time. She then sacrifices herself to fight off three army members. At some point it time, also, the main character's crystal shatters, making him lose his transformation abilities. From then on he requires a ship that reforms the crystal shards and transforms him.

I truly wish somebody would know of this series.

Well I think it's about time to gave my review of Desert PunkIt's about time since Volume 2 is almost out...

Civilization has runned down with it's own greed. All that remains in the Great Kanto Desert is the reminescent's of buildings in the scorching sea of sand. The only way to make a living is work hard for water. Survival practicly requires the use of desert gear for proper conditioning.

The only true way to make a living from the bottom to the top is to be a mercenary. This is the tale of the legendary mercenary, 'The Demon of the Desert', Desert Punk, Kanta Mizuno.

Desert Punk goes along life, taking up job's to become well known. He has built the great reputation of having zero-failure in all missions, and he doesn't want to let that title fly out the (already broken and missing glass for hundred's of year's) window.

In the first episode he get's his first rival mercenary, Junko, a large chested (maybe F cup?) vixen that will use her assets to get what she want, and to complete her missions. She manipulates DP into completing a mission, and at the end she swoop's in for the glory.

Later is his next rival, Rain Spider. A dark and gloomy man with just as good and intimidating reputation as DP. In the second episode, they square off for the completion of two seperate missions that are intertwined within one another.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series so far, and I can't wait until I get the next volume. I highly suggest this to anyone, but it may not be best for the younger audience.
