"Care about yourself first."

Frea was surprised about Fay's answer. Eyes looked closer at the feline faunus, trying to find the reason why the girl would rather be outside with a high chance of being shocked by thunder than staying safe in a cave. Since she had paid close enough attention to the girl, the flicker of terror that flashed did not miss her eyes. A traumatic experience, it seemed. She would not force the young feline woman to go in, but she gave another warning. "In that case, please be careful. The trees around here grew the highest, so 90% is that thunder may hit. It's safer staying under the tree, no, how about at the entrance of the cave?" Some of the tree branches fluttered down near the cave entrance, creating a small cover for one person to stand. "In the end, it's the safest to stay inside the cave, where you can get cover, and less likely to get sick in the rain." She was doubtful of the safeness of the feline faunus plan to stay outside, but everyone had a choice and she would respect that.

She looked deeper inside the cave, organizing the camp setting that was most suitable in her mind, ignoring the verbal abuse between the girls with Fang getting stuck in between. The campfire should be in the middle, with each person's bedding surrounding it. The corner of the cave was good for ingredients, water and wood stacking. For the sleeping spot, she targeted the open space farthest from the entrance, as it provided perfect view and flexibility if anything happened. She was not good enough for any quick-timing danger. Sleeping near the wall should be safe.

With her focus elsewhere, the horned faunus missed the sort of rare heartfelt seriousness of Fang, but she did not miss the actions of Fia to show her appreciation to the man. Eyes twitching, she shuddered at the sight of the public affection. While she did not hear the pink human words to Fang, the woman's expression hinted at the contents. Not wanting to think about that more, she moved to make the fire camp after receiving the flint and steel from Fang. "Sure. Just a few seconds." She stacked the wood together, covering it a little with a spare piece of clothing. With a few strikes between the flint and steel, some oxygen from her breath, a fire came to life. Her process of making the fire was quick, practiced and efficient.

Done with the fire making, she moved to her chosen spot and set down her sleeping arrangement. In the packing process, she chose to take out some of the ingredients, intending to make some medicine before bed. With the wet weather, fire should be used sparingly, so she did not try to boil the herbs to make liquid medicine.

The woman was already bored of being carried around, especially since she couldn't threaten the kitty with a dagger to her throat. How she would love drawing her blood onto her sharpened blades that ached to be played with. As much as she would love to, she knew her darling wouldn't let her. Wasn't this why he was carrying her around with such affection? With her eyes cast back on him and her chin propped on her fist, this side of Fang was new to her, certainly something she didn't quite appreciate - the softness he showed to his new companions. It was the madness she fell head over heels for, the madman who couldn't get enough of anything unpleasant. What next, was he going to brush their hair and rock them to sleep, singing a hush lullaby? As much as his new side didn't gel well with her, she chose to stick along. Putting up with all one's flaws, wasn't that a sign of true love?

Fia's right knee tapped against the man's chest, almost threatening to ram deep into his sternum if he kept running his mouth for someone else, heck she would easily swing it up to his jaw if she had to. "Cat? I thought she's a chihuahua, especially with how she runs her snappy mouth." she stated with a snicker, passing a toothy grin to the kitty that was surely tempted to crack the human woman's skull in two. "You've implied that he is, I've never said anything to state he is so the fool here is you, little mongrel, not me. Besides, maybe he'd like a fight before he got to the kitty between your legs, cages can be quite stuffy." she would state, running her slender finger along Fang's back as she stated, her eyes darting back to the cat before she would clear her throat and add, "Mongrel- any animal resulting from crossbreeding. If you did spend some time keeping that mouth shut and letting some useful information sink into that thick skull of yours, you'd probably be free like little sheepy there.". Fia didn't mind this little verbal battle with the kitty, although, she did hope she'd seal her lips eventually, not that she was tired of throwing insults back at her, but she'd rather attempt to sleep alone than even listen to her go on.

Fia dropped to her feet, stretching her slender legs a little as she moved away from them. Maybe she would have to get used to seeing the two women around the male, one of them which she wouldn't mind too much..unless she continued playing a damsel. She didn't like the idea of her dependence on Fang bringing out the gentleman in him, not to mention how petite women like her always had the upper hand in the likability scale. The kitty on the other hand, she was simply annoying and defensive. Maybe she had a hard past, but didn't most of them in the group? Each with their own story to tell. But then again Fia wasn't one to comment on lack of likability, she barely tried to be nice with fears of her own.

Casting a deaf ear to the kitten's comment, referring to her as a thing, the woman's heels clanked lightly as she inched inside for a closer inspection of their new shelter. She couldn't care less if the kitten perished in the storm, casting the concerned two a glance before she headed inside. Lucky for them she even refrained from making a statement about her gruesome possible death, how interesting it would be though, waking up to the smell of charring skin and a shower of blood. "Lovely." she cooed at the thought as she found herself a decent spot. Unlike usual, she chose to be away from Fang, which would likely change by the time she wanted to go into a deeper slumber, but she could easily go a night with no sleep if her pride got the best of her.

Pale hues cast back upon the horned woman, almost tempted to help her start the fire, not by a gesture of kindness though but more of to quicken the process so she could study the cave better. "I think its all good. If something was in here, it would have been out and about by now listening to all your mushy talk." she would state plainly, pulling her own blanket out and laying it down on the surface as she settled on it, laying down on her back now, stretching her arm out to the roof and watched her shadow to entertain herself. Quickly sitting up, she rummaged through her bag to draw the package out again, unsure if she should bring it up with the presence of the horned lass but she could probably take a peek for herself.

Fang was lost in thought, but his reflexes allowed him to catch the flint and steel Frea had tossed at him without even turning his head. He brought the flint and steel down to his lap and rolled it around in his fingers. "The box will hold all of the details..." He said in contemplation. "Unfortunately high paying jobs like this must be accepted before you know anything. If you fail..." He would hesitate. Fia likely knew the consequences of failing a high level mercenary quest like this, but Frea was still a bit used to the higher level stuff. Which was probably a good thing actually. "If you fail, or even refuse the quest after accepting the package... You will be blacklisted. Bounty hunters from every black market will be given your name, face, and anything else known about you, and you will be dead within a few days, maybe a few weeks if you are lucky..." His face almost appeared sad at the thought, for just a moment, but his eyes lit with a deep fire of excitement right after. His mania taking control. "That is why I love these quests! It's like gambling, but with your life on the line! He had actually done a few of these quests before, he would take more if they were easier to come by, but they were not easy for a nomad to get a hold of. His blood boiled in his veins as adrenaline started to flow. He couldn't wait to figure out what was inside.

Fang's eyes darted back to Fia as she opened the package ."No traps...hmmm." He said as Fia pulled out a blank piece of paper. Fire activated its hidden words. A simple trick often employed for these sorts of quests. Fang studied the piece of paper for some time before finally saying: "Its in a code..." It was completely unreadable."We need a pass phrase to decipher it." This was a way to secure the quest. A new code was created for each quest. Impossible to break unless you had years and years of free time and were a genius at cryptology. Fang walked over to Frea and grabbed the box from her lap. He turned it upside down and looked it over.

"There is nothing else here..." There had to be something though. He wasn't stupid, but he was no genius at solving puzzles either. That is when it came to him. "Fia! Quick, the courier must have said something to you? Anything? What did he say?"User Image

❝When you feel all alone, And the world has turned it's back on you.
I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you.
It's hard to find relief and people can be so cold.

Because there has always been heartache and pain
And when it's over you'll breathe again
You'll breathe again❞

Fayeth understood that Frea wanted her safe but she didn’t want to be plagued by the nightmares and be up with the thing having a dagger to her. She was much smarter than to try to kill Fang in his sleep, right now her sole focus was on the collar but she doubted the thing would leave her in peace throughout the night. She stayed near the entrance were there was some protection without being inside of the cave. She looked down at the rain that was hitting the ground still remembering that night.

Before Fia was gone she paid no attention to her as no anger was no where to be seen on her face. All she is a spoiled child that probably never got the attention. At this point she decided to ignore Fia’s presence as she was just a bug that would annoy you endlessly. It was clear Fang did not hold any feelings to her, maybe she did it just to annoy him. Now all alone her sadden blue eyes looked at the ground as the memories were all flooding back to her. Maybe the thing was just jealous since she didn’t have a collar from Fang.

The more she thought about it as she tried to shake it off. Feeling tears in the corners of her eyes as she wiped them away roughly. She needed to keep everyone away from her and not get close. Eventually one day they would kill her or stab her in the back if she opened up. Her hands fished out her book that was important and would keep her from breaking down. Her hands returned to the torn pages.

"Care about yourself first."

Frea started to prepare the herb for the mixing. She cut the unused part of the plant, leaving the leaves aside before chopping those up into smaller pieces for easy mixing. Because these herbs had been dried for a while, they were hard and dry enough to grind into powder. She put half of these herbs into jars and half of them mixing with other herb powders. There were some herbs that she only cut the leaves, packing it up with normal tree leaves, intending to use those for tea brewing or boiling later. Her hand touched the flint and the steel while she worked, remembering that she had not returned the items to Fang. "Ah, here is your tool back." She threw the items back to the man. At the corner of her eyes, she noticed the pink woman intention to come towards her, perhaps to help. The horned woman did not understand the human's action, but she would not care to ask about it.

The air between the group was hostile while remained odd at the same time, with snaring between the other ladies and Fang's joke in between. With such an atmosphere, it was good to keep her mind on alert. She caught the logs thrown at her, putting it to fuel the fire. It burned brighter and felt warmer to the touch. Should last longer, too. Taking hold of a spare twig, she poked at the fire, making sure everything should keep the flames burning long enough.

The information about the box and job caught Frea's attention. She turned to the direction of Fang and Fia after putting back her ingredients and finished products. "That sounds rather shady. Do the one who request this job gave any specifics?" Having more information should help their case. She did not like going in blind. Too general gave a lot of holes and brought them disadvantages. "The most important should be the objectives. Who's our target? The locations? Deadline? The type of job?" Usually the sheep faunus was the type to accept delivery quests of all things, with some exceptions on combat quests. Delivery quests only required her to protect someone or deliver something, so it was simple enough, as there would be others taking the same quests. For combat quests though, there would be times where she was not strong enough for an assassination. Thus, on such type of quests, she would have to research for information on the target before accepting one.

"You clearly haven't lived among faunus bandits, its the most common insult they think of." Fia would quickly respond to the male, clearly having lived among a wide array of people in her lifetime. None of which piqued her interest as much Fang did, even if he was softening quite a bit around these women. Even if she didn't appreciate their presence, the sheep faunus lady was alright for now and she might as well have to get used to her presence with Fang being so determined to keep her around.

The woman's interest in their mission seemed to have grabbed her comrade's attention as he said it was alright to open it around the horned little lady. Of course, she was a part of their group now. Unfortunately. Exhaling lightly, she took her time opening it up as the male spoke to the faunus, recalling how last time she had a little surprise attack with little creepy crawlies flooding out of their package. Unfortunately, the villain overlord liked to ensure his little 'gifts' weren't tampered with or taken up by the wrong hands in case his pawns were caught in a tight mess. Luckily this time, it was nothing but a little spider, which she picked up and tossed into the flame, pulling out a thick stack of money wrapped up in a thin sheet of paper that she placed back in the box, finding a letter with nothing written in it. "Oh, the old fart does think it's something that should be a secret." she mumbled, bringing the letter closer to the flame as the words began to appear. Classic tomfoolery.

Glancing over the words that appeared, she handed the paper over to Fang, letting him read through it while her attention now shifted over to the horned faunus. She was a part of the unlikely group, might as well answer all her queries and bring her to date. When it came to work, Fia was quite the professional and expected the same from the rest. "He never verbally addresses his intentions, often giving his pawns packages as this with a handsome sum of money - which we shall be splitting here." she stated, crossing her arms across her chest. "The objectives should be stated in his heartfelt letter there. It's likely that he hasn't been very specific..." she exhaled, standing up and walking over to Fang as she regretted not having read it better, sitting behind him with her chin on his shoulder as she looked into the paper while he read."What kind of trades are you familiar with? This one seems like we'll be getting our hands dirty.." she asked the faunus out of curiosity, her lips would start curling into a smirk, seemingly itching for a little action with their new mission.

With her eyes parting from the paper, she would drop over to the side onto his makeshift pillow and prop herself up by her elbow as her eyes cast on the crackling flames, paying an ear to the faunus girl she took interest in for a change. She wanted to know what she had to work with, whether or not she'd be expected to carry some weight around. Either way, she'd have to put up with whatever Fang intended for them. "What do you think? Should we take it up? I've heard word that we can keep the money regardless of the outcome. I say we go with it, the amount should cover for any possible damage." she said to Fang, reaching over and poking his side with her free hand.

"Care about yourself first."

The spider flew through the air and into the fire in a smooth arc. The flames burned its remains, flashing a green color. Frea knitted her brow together, thoughtful of what the odd color burn meant. There was no strange smell in company with the color, but it was something to note. Eyeing the fire at the corner of her eye, she focused on listening to the next job briefing. "Understood." She raised a brow at Fang's passion to put his life on the line. To her, dying was a terrible process, with her having multiple experiences with the subject. Being burned by poisonous swamp, bitten by dangerous insects, stabbed and burned by flames, almost all the steps to her previous "Death" had been painful and long. Yet, in the end, she remained alive, fuelled by her will to live by her instinct. It became a habit, and as long as she had a chance to live, she would take it. Push others as shields first, and she would be safer at the back. Coward, they called her. She called it a "strategy". Brain was as important as brawn.

The words appeared when putting over the flames did not surprise her. It was a trick that some of the quest giver or someone who tried to be mysterious did. She watched as the letter was passed to Fang before turning her attention to the Pink human woman's question. Fia was her name, but she would try not to call that name often. "I'm not experienced in assassination trades, but I'm fine with those. Had more preference with protection or delivery quests." For the human girl, just based on the way the pink-haired woman smiled, Frea can guess at her most experienced trade. Maybe a wrong guess, but in the end, that was a guess. It surprised her that Fia asked for her opinion, but other than a raised brow, her expression did not change. "That's a good condition, but suspicious in a way. Usually, it a hit or miss with the salary, so giving us benefits on the salary meant the more dangerous it was." She thought about the information that the human woman had reported. "So the job givers like to play games. In that case, I hope we could find as much information possible before heading out for the job." Given the other's expression, accepting this job was obvious.

With the sudden code in the letter, a problem arose. She peeked at the letter, the words held no meaning or impression on her. It should be good to learn some cryptology, in this case, but they did not have time for that. She was no genius at language, either. Give her medicine books, all should be fine, but language? Well, not bad, but not the best on difficult ones. "Say, with the way the quest giver make it so hard before an official acceptance of the job, is there is a time limit on when one should solve the puzzles?" It was a random thought to think about, but it certainly intriguing. The one who made these puzzles for quest takers must be a genius, have a lot of time on their hands, crazy or just wanted someone to suffer.

The woman wasn't too impressed with his little trick, surely she had seen better and paid more attention to finding a hint about their mission. With eyes cast back on her precious, she a slight smirk played upon her lips as his features change. There it was, the Fang that she fell in love with, the crazy man whose insanity fueled hers. She wasn't new to these quests and she could sense the thrill he spoke of. Oh, how she nearly failed at her first one and almost got beheaded for the same but the thrill gave her a rush nothing else ever seemed to have, the thill gave her chills like none other. She refrained from adding to his statement, although every bone in her being wanted to leap over and press her lips all over his tan features. "A really fun gamble indeed." she stated simply with a grin.

The woman paid a close ear to the smaller woman as she spoke, figuring she might not be that good an option for the quest considering it would require quite some risk. But thinking in a more logistic manner, Sheepy might be helpful with their injuries if she was as good as Fang insisted. Fang's semblance could protect him from most dreadful attacks but it too had its limits, besides, if they were going to have to keep the little sheep away from danger, she could as well make herself useful. She wouldn't bring up her suggestion anytime soon though, at least not until they knew for sure what their assignment was. "I see." she would state, crossing her arms across her chest in thought. She nodded at Frea's observation, pondering still about the package as she looked back at Fang while he examined the 'code' "Sometimes it's just best we know what the boss wants us to know, lest some of us tend to let our judgment get the best of us." she would state, shrugging lightly as she shifted back to her own blanket, laying back down on it.

Turning over to lay on her belly, she looked over at the two as they tried to decode the crypt given to them for their assignment. She did know a few simple tricks to decipher some codes - skip one word, find the keyword and such but, wasn't going to bother herself with the same, at least not tonight. She barely got any sleep during her trip and it was already time for them to turn in. "Not unless the person giving you the package emphasizes on it." she spoke in response to the woman before she propped herself up on her elbows, unexpectedly displaying her flexibility. "The giver often takes into account the lack of brains in some of the capable candidates he offers the job to. The middlemen are often given a message they have to parrot to the receiver before they depart, which might help with the puzzle or be the answer to it altogether." she stated to the woman.

Watching the male as he seemed to have an epiphany about the code, almost making her reflect back on the words she spoke to the woman about the package. She did clearly remember what the 'middleman' had told her, but she wasn't going to give Fang the information he sought without a little fight. "He did." she stated simply, looking away from him as she picked up a little rock and tossed it into the flame. "But I can't seem to remember clearly, mind helping me jog my memory?" she asked, passing him a playful smirk, punishment for having recruited women while she wasn't around? Of course. "How about a return gift for the one I left on your head?" she stated, referring to the impression of her lips she left on his temple. She knew he wouldn't oblige and she'd have to bring it up on her own lest they wanted to be blacklisted.

Propping her chin on her closed fist as she looked away from the male, taking her own sweet time to even bring up the information he requested, she sighed and rubbed the back of her head lightly with her free hand as she exhaled, bringing herself to finally speak up. "He said, Where the sorrow of the moon can't be defined, hidden from the civilian's eye. Like moles and rats, in the depths of the land, go where there is no man. she recited, her eyes shut as she could picture him saying it right before her like he did when she first got the package. "Underground probably..that narrows it down quite a bit." she mumbled mostly to herself, maybe the details of it would be in the code they received? Hidden from the civilian's eye... wouldn't that mean it was a place where people were around? Eyes fluttered open as she turned over to look at the crackling flame in thought. As much as she didn't want to, her brain began to ponder over the message, sitting up now as she reached for the code, swaying a little as her brows knit together while busy eyes fixed on the letters.

Fang chuckled with wild eyes as his mind wandered to the feats this quest would require. Only a few of them ever came in code. It was usually an important mission. Time sensitive, and incredibly important. To someone somewhere at least. "This one is going to be a good one. I hope the letter tells of us of some extra cash if we succeed." Fia had popped over his shoulder while he had examined the letter. His hand instinctively went up to give her a little head scratch as if she was a lost puppy. He had known many pets before he had ever had a human companion and it showed in his behaviors. He still treated his companions in a sort of unorthodox manner. The code was going to be tough, but surely Fia had the information they needed to solve it. Her quick wit always saved him from these puzzles, but she decided to play games. She mentioned something about his head, but Fang being Fang was at a total loss. His face with a sort of blank expression as if to say, 'what did you just say to me?' "I'll force it out of you Fia." He would say without hesitation. His voice somewhat playful, but also sadistically dark. He would start to get up as if to walk over to her to do who knows what when she spoke. His golden eyes shot to the dark caverns beyond them as he pondered this clue. "I got it." He said as a smile surfaced upon his face. His lips curled slightly revealing a toothy smile. "An enemy of Vale our quest giver must be." He would have to explain to them what he meant by that.

Fang's eyes turned back to Frea, then to Fia before he spoke."Just a few weeks ago Vale discovered a large underground chasm. Grimm in throngs came forth, but of course Vale defeated it. They are now exploring this cave and its been the talk of the century in the black markets. I heard someone in Phoxuria saying their is probably Atlas treasures of all kinds in there. Nothing is confirmed of course. Not yet." His eyes turned back to the paper. The code phrase must be in there somewhere. What could it be? "Where the sorrow of the moon can't be defined, hidden from the civilian's eye. Like moles and rats, in the depths of the land, go where there is no man." He woudl repeat slowly under his breath."Cavern? Maybe." His eyes would run across the letter using the word to decode, but it failed. He snapped with his right hand in disappointment.

"It is a big cavern. I am told it leads north towards Atlas, and is believed to have been made as an attempt by atlas to reestablish connection to Vale, but safely underground from the Grimm." There would be a word associated with this cavern that Atlas dug that would decode the whole message. Fang wouldn't likely come up with it anytime soon knowing himself. "Any words come to mind? It won't be one within the clue, I can say that much."User Image

"Care about yourself first."

It was interesting to see how the human woman changed when it entailed business. A good trait to have as a teammate or business partner. "A good point. Each action had their own merits." She just preferred to be a little more careful in anything. The horned faunus accepted her weakness and strengths compared with others, so she had to be prepared in order to make up for her flaws. Especially if the job was suspicious, one should have a path to retreat from. "Perhaps we will be able to learn more when doing the job then. We'll see."

Frea gradually got used to the public affection, or really friendly actions between Fia and Fang. When one started to see something so much, it became numbing. It reminded her of a previous quest that she had to protect the delivery of goods. The ones who were in charge of the delivered goods were a pair and they liked to show their public affection often, even to the point of her unable to look at them. Thinking back on it, she should be unfazed to the two human's antics since this was nothing compared to the experience back then. On the other hand, the numbness to strange things faded when one was not in contact with those often. In fact, she did not remember close friends or lovers scratching each other heads, like pets. Ah, right, she forgot Fang's interaction with others were not quite normal.

The flames shifted behind her, as something small crawled out of it. Because a fraction of her attention focused on that direction, her hand was quick to spear her Solaris through the thing. It wiggled in the weapon's grip but did not die. Looked like the spider from earlier, but drowning in flames, yet not burned by the heat. Violet eyes looked to the two as the information brought up. She had expected them to fool around some more, so that was fast. "From the information, it should be something underground. A tunnel, perhaps, since we have "depths of lands". With the moon can't be defined, it can be when there is time there is no moon, or the weather that hides the moon, maybe by mist or haze. For hidden from Civilian's eye, it's quite a bit general. It may mean something in a town, a hidden mechanism like trap doors or behind bookshelves. Other meaning would be just something hidden altogether." Her analyze came smoothly, yet no words came to her mind. Her knowledge of caverns' name or such kind was not enough to lead to a certain answer. "Nothing came to mind, unfortunately. I may be analyzing too much about this, but it may be effective only at certain times where the moon was not there."

Tensed features softened in an instant, chin almost melting into his shoulder as she enjoyed his thick fingers sinking into her hair. Fia might have not been a fan of physical contact with many others, but with Fang, everything was an exception, even this behavior, hell she loved it. An unintentional little purr escaped her lips eyes easing shut as her head leaned into him for more. She was going to sleep a little too well if he kept this up, maybe she could forgive him after all for recruiting the two women. Although her little joy was short lived when he pulled his hand away, making her audibly groan as crossed her arms across her chest. Watching him stir up with that statement which could have been interpreted in multiple ways, her rosy lips curled into a playful smirk, curious pale hues watching as he stepped closer. "As kinky as that sounds coming from you, I doubt you'd ever be able to do anything to me." she would tease, surely enough trying to provoke him further.

"I heard of that on my way back too, little boys were so intrigued by the grim they were practically stopping everyone who came down from that direction." she stated to the two, crossing her legs under her as she sat up. "We could gather information tomorrow, it's unlikely that the walls would talk and tell us anything we'd like to know." the woman stated, clearly tired of thinking too much, but who was to blame her? She had sleepless nights and had just been reunited with the love of her life, only to find him among other women.

With her pale hues cast back upon the flames, soon shifting to the woman who seemed to be occupied with the spider. Curious hues watched as she didn't kill it, almost wondering what she intended to do with it. She would be wary though, even if she was rather timid and softspoken, there was no reason for her to trust her. "Civilian's eye makes it quite certain it couldn't be somewhere where a layman could reach it with ease, so it could be unlikely that it would be hidden behind a mechanism. Although, there still is a slim chance it could be." she mumbled quietly, groaning once again as her hands reached for her head, clenching her temples gently to ease the growing tension. "I'm turning in for the night, I cannot take another sleepless night." she would state, slipping her outer coat off and placing it under her head as she turned over to her side, facing away from the others. Either she failed to realize, or she did it on purpose, but she made herself comfortable over the blanket Fang had laid down for himself rather than her own. She did make herself comfortable in his spot while they were trying to decode their mission, so it was likely she simply failed to realize it before she drifted to sleep. Tensed muscles began to relax as her body began to drift into a peaceful slumber.

Fang stared into the fire thinking about the words spoken between the two women in his midst. What could it be. A mechanism. A trap door. That is when he realized what it was. "Vault - That must be it. I heard a rumor it was sealed." Fia and Frea had led him to the conclusion with little to no effort. The wonders of having a team. He quickly scanned the article over and decoded it as he went. He would burn the writing into his mind. "Interesting indeed..." He would say as he poured over the paper. It took quite some time for him to finally finish it, the only distraction being Frea ruthlessly stabbing a spider. She left it alive to suffer a moment longer it would seem. He couldn't control the bright smile that appeared on his face as the golden orbs that were his eyes looked on her. So elegant. So deadly. He liked it. She had a strange mixture of sweet and lethal that made her terrifying. He might have looked at her for a moment too long and would turn his attention back to the task at hand to avoid anything awkward. He was infamously bad with people. He just didn't understand them in the familiar ways of city folk. "Done..." He said as he finished the document. "I'll brief you guys on it tomorrow, but it basically is a location defense mission. We'll need to prepare with lots of traps and that sort of thing, and it will be at the north shore of the continent, so our journey will need to start shortly if we are to make it in time." That much would suffice for now. At least they knew the nature of the mission and that it wasn't something too crazy. There was a hidden piece he had not yet revealed to them though, but he didn't want to concern them about it just yet.

Fang would instinctively lean back to relax and bump into Fia who had fallen asleep behind him. She was out cold. He would grab her blanket and pull it up over her a bit more to keep her warm and gently pat her shoulder. Always the intrusive one she was. Just like a lost puppy. He didn't mind sharing though, he had gotten used to the extra warmth sleeping near people offered. Also, if the murder kitten came in the middle of the night he wanted to be ready for it. "I'm going to check on kitkat. I'll be right back Frea." He would say to the horned creature as he got up to exit the cave.

Fang would walk to the edge of the cave and look out. Sure enough the murdermeow was sitting where she had been left. He could sense a state of sorrow. Part of his memory flashed a vision of himself long ago sitting in the underbrush of a great oak as torrential rain poured down. His hand grabbed his shirt. He wanted to help her, but he knew that there was nothing he could do. She hated him afterall. He did walk out to her though. Hoping she wouldn't notice him. "Sleep well..." Fang said from behind her. "We need you strong." He would crouch down beside her and pull a small water proof fabric off of his belt. It was usually tied around him to keep him from getting wet when he sat down, he would wrap it around her if she would allow it. It would help keep off any stray drops of rain that would fall down and keep her warm. Without another word he would go back into the cave.

It was just him and Frea now. "Sorry for all the chaos today..." He would pause in silence for a while. His somber eyes watching the dark caverns beyond. "Not so much used to traveling with so many. Hell, only met Fia not too long ago... It's... different."User Image

❝When you feel all alone, And the world has turned it's back on you.
I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you.
It's hard to find relief and people can be so cold.

Because there has always been heartache and pain
And when it's over you'll breathe again
You'll breathe again❞

Her eyes looked down at the book remembering the memories how her father would be writing down. Her fingers gently ran over the cover of the leather bound cover. She missed those happier times with her family as her tail sways on the dirty ground beneath where she sat. "I hate them all." she spoke over and over like it was a mantra to her. She just wanted to leave this place and be on her own killing humans. She didn't want her perspective to change since they were all the same from what she saw today.

Her ears picked up footsteps heading towards her as she frowned, "I know you're there. I'm not going in deeper while you're hoe is there gutting for me." she spoke with venom. She could feel the water sometimes hitting her when it would hit the ground. Setting her book on her bag as it was clear she was willing to tolerate him more than the thing. Even now he had certainly surprised her with the action he did to place the fabric around her, once he was gone she gripped onto it looking down.

Her eyes were failing her to stay away from her busy day,'I need to stay awake.' she thought to herself to protect herself. Her head nodding off while her eyelids getting pretty heavy. Eventually she gave in when she laid down on the ground giving to falling asleep. Needlessly to say her night did not go well still being plagued by the nightmares of her horrors.

"Care about yourself first."

It was good to know that her analysis helped find the right answer for the letter. Frea waited for Fang to tell them the mission, but it appeared further details will be given tomorrow. At the very least, the main idea was that the mission related to location defense. Not the type of quests she was fond of, but still neutral to. Should be better than direct combat. In that case, just like Fang's idea of what to prepare, she should find some plants, twigs and materials to make traps. More poison or paralysis herb, powder or vials would help the mission greatly, with their purpose of taking down enemies silently and killing them without effort. It would reduce the stamina of having to deal with every enemy coming their way. The position of those traps should be crucial for trap success, but that would be left for later since they did not know the structure of what they would be defending. "Understood. I guess I will find some materials for those traps and maybe some poison ingredients before we leave tomorrow."

Violet eyes flickered up from her thought, meeting golden ones looking over to her. Their gaze met a bit too long before they broke contact. That confused her, but she left it with a raised brow and a shift in her seat. When the man was not looking at her, her free hand pat at her face and horns, wondering if there was something stuck on it. Usually, the reasons people looked at her a bit too long was for those reasons. She found nothing, so she put that to him having something on his mind and just looking her way.

The horned woman had known that the pink-haired human woman laid in the incorrect place before Fang did, but she did not make an attempt to point it out. Given those two antics, Fang would not mind so much and it was proven true. She nodded to his announcement of going out and turned to the spider speared in her lance. Despite the piece of metal piercing its whole body, it was still alive and kicking. Interesting. In the end, the burning spider got its spot in one of the jars she had, the one with thicker glass than others. Since the little creature was stranger than normal while not a Grimm, she should be careful when handling it in her bag.

When the new addition to her jars was organized, Fang came back. "It is quite unusual from the atmosphere of traveling back then. More chaotic but...energetic, I suppose. Not a bad thing, in my opinion." She shifted her legs, laying on her sides on her sleeping arrangements. "You look like you having fun though, despite the new experience. I can see why many others enjoy working in a bigger team."

Dainty hands patted at Fang's sleeping spot, hinting him to lay down. "But anyways, it's getting late. Go to sleep." Her head lied on her makeshift pillow that softened the roughness from the ground. "Good night, Fang." She wondered if she should say good nights to others too, but they seemed to be sleeping already.

Fang didn't like his pet sleeping outside alone, but she wasn't fond of caves it seems. He just had to let it go for now. Frea spoke to him as she got situated for bed. Her every movement very elegant he thought. She was like a magical creature of the forest. "I do like the energy..." Fhe would say almost to himself stoking the fire one last time. "I do like our group, though I fear it will be short lived..." He would whisper.

She would pat his place to sleep before taking to bed herself. "Good idea..." Not really. He hated sleep. His mind was never in a place to enjoy it, but it was a good idea for his body. He nodded one last time before curling up on his spot. His back softly pressed against Fia's. Her warmth keeping him at a good temperature. For now. As the fire cooled he would slowly steel some of her blanket without thinking. As was the custom almost every night she slept near him.
