he Buzoku Hantā released a grunt as it felt a connection with its chest. Losing its balance, the demon staggered before falling to the hard ground, landing on its side. Trying to maintain its equilibrium, its tail whipped back and the Buzoku Hantā felt it connect with bone and tissue. Hot liquid spilled upon its head and side, which the demon quickly recognized as blood. Hissing in rage, the Buzoku Hantā ripped its tail back and flung it forcefully toward a pile of rubble, feeling its barbed tail catch on more tissue before finally breaking free with a wet squelching sound. Moving quickly to its feet, the Buzoku Hantā quickly scented the air, angered that it had thrown its prey.

Seiko stared at the girl before her, blinking slow in bewilderment,"I see..."

It was hard to believe that she had slept through all of that. And even now she seemed so incredibly calm, despite the destruction occurring around her and the topic of their conversation being attacked, simply because her hippogryph seemed at ease. Did they not see what was happening? In any other situation, she would have found the situation funny, however now was not the time for such things.

Her eyes focused as the demon and the man with the straw colored hair continued to fight, her eyes widening as the man turned and kicked the demon forcefully making it fall away. She thought that would have given him enough time to escape, though the demon flailed and its sharp tail pierced him in the chest.

Her attention was taken back to the girl as they began to move with her quiet request to her hippogryph for him to fly. Her arms quickly moved to wrap around Raine's waist to keep herself from falling off. She was a bit scared, she had never flown before.

"Uh... Whatever you think is best...?" She said, holding on tight. Once they had finally left the ground, the village of Yuina less than a mile below them, she allowed her gaze to travel over the city, and quickly located the Brothel of Shimahara, which had both been her home and her prison for the last few years. She had learned much there, mostly bad, though she had also learned how to survive, and keep most of her lingering doubts from consuming her entirely. What she needed to focus on now, was returning to her old village to see if there had been any survivors, and perhaps starting a new life there as well. The thought that there would be nothing left to return to after everything was said and done, that scared her the most.

She looked at Raine as she spoke to her, and she smiled softly, "I would like to watch, if that's okay with you. That man helped me. I would have been sent back if it hadn't been for him." She looked down at the streets where the fight was still unraveling. She left out the fact of where she had been. If she was to start a new life, there was no reason for sharing the past of her forced life within the walls of the Shimahara district as one of their many whores.

aine‘s embarrassment from earlier began to vanish with all that was going on. Her features stiffening slightly as she watched the man suddenly attempt to kick the demon in midair, and her grey eyes widened largely at just how easily his attempt was shot down.
The creature was indeed pretty forbidding as she watched it stab the guy in the chest before flinging him towards the rubble of a house, or what was left of it.

“I’m glad were up here…” She whispered softly before Katsu rose even more to confirm their safety, her small hands holding the younger girl even closer to her to ensure that she did not fall down to the death pit below them.

“I’m not sure if he will be getting up anytime soon, we may miss a chance to escape as well but we really shouldn’t leave him to die either.” She spoke more to herself as she tried to devise a plan.
“One of us would have to travel on horseback…” She concluded before gazing at Katsu wearily.

“The only one that these monsters haven’t really had a good smell is me… So I will attempt to ride the horse… Now Katsu, don’t fly faster than me but please fly high enough so that the scent will not be picked up. This will have to be the only way we can do this, which means you will have to keep yourself up on him, and the man as well. There’s no other way.” Her voice, even though was young held a slight command in her tone.

Katsu nodded slightly in agreement and began to land on-top of the house where the man had been flung in the direction in.

Raine jumped off quickly and proceeded to sprint towards the stables, hoping that there was at least one horse that she could borrow. She had to act fast while the creature was still confused.

Katsu had stood quietly on the housetop as his cyan eyes tried to pick out the young man so that he could snatch him up in his large beak and fling him on-top of his back. He knew that he had to act fast and find the half breed or there could be a chance of the demon soon going after him as well.

Seiko nodded to the girl in front of her, feeling her tighten her hands around her wrists to keep her secure upon the Hippogryph. "I think that might just be our best bet," she agreed. It was possibly the only option they had right now that could ensure saving that man's life. Sure there were flaws, such as what if they couldn't get there in time, and what if the man was already dead, and also what if the demon would remember her scent the most because she had been standing next to the straw-haired man when this whole scenario had began. So had the girl with the beautiful dark colored skin, but she already seemed to have run away and hid. Seiko sincerely hoped that everyone would escape with their lives today. Not one of them deserved this fate.

Seiko gave a quick squeeze to the girl in front of her, as she tightened her arms somewhat, "Alright, I think now is as good of time as any. I think the demon is distracted." She said watching as it rose and lowered its head to the ground, no doubt attempting to once again locate him. "Let's go"

Seiko tightened her grip as the wind began to whip past her face. The Hippogryph swiftly made his descent toward the city before he flared out his massive wings and landed lightly upon the roof of a home.

The girl with her swiftly unclasped the belts of her saddle and climbed down from her steed before she made a break from the house and in the direction of the stables. Her mouth firmed into a line, she would not sit idly in this even if her ankle was hurt. She wanted to help as well. She too began to climb down from the Hippogryph's back and steadied her feet upon the roofs thatched surface. She stumbled as her ankle gave out and fell to her hands and knees. Her eyes steadied on the demon not far away. Luckily he still seemed distracted, and she realized that it was because of the blood covering its face.

Acting quickly, Seiko quickly gathered up the bottom of her Kimono and climbed down the house before landing on a large pile of chopped wood on her butt, scrambling through it, she then picked her way through the rubble of the broken house. Searching frantically for the man.

The morning light helped her see the trail of blood cast off from the man as he was thrown and she quickly hefted the boards of rice paper walls from him along with the thatching from the roof. The sight that greeted her, filled her with sadness. The hole in his chest was so large and his blood was flowing too quickly. If he were demon he may be able to recover. But she didn't think he was. Still, she didn't feel it moral to leave him like this to die. Then to her amazement, she saw the very subtle rise and fall of his chest as he dragged in a ragged breath. How he could still be breathing with that gaping hole in his chest was a miracle. The injury had obviously torn through one of his lungs.

Hope flaring that maybe he had a fighting chance, as now her former thought that he might just in fact be a demon, as any ordinary human would have instantly been dead after such an attack. Seiko renewed her efforts. She wrapped her petite arms about his shoulders, and under his arms and began to slowly drag him out on her knees. Their movements were slow going, considering the man was much larger than she. But she couldn't simply give up. He had helped her escape her fate of returning to the Brothel. This was her debt and she was repaying it now. Sweat quickly began to bead down her brow as she panted with the effort of moving him, but eventually she was able to flop them both onto the cobble stone street. Her eyes gazed up toward the Hippogryph who was still perched on the roof.

The Buzoku Hantā's lips were pulled far back over its many rows of fangs as it breathed in the scents around it. Its scent receptors were irritatingly clogged with coagulated blood, and it was having trouble pin-pointing the half-demon's exact location. It was furious. How could it have made a mistake such as this? Its methods were flawless. It never failed attaining its prey once it had been chosen. Releasing a corded bellow, the sound distinctly disjointed and eerily metallic sounding in nature. The Buzoku Hantā shook its head viciously and felt some of the thick jelly like blood dislodge from its scent glands. That was when it swiftly caught scent of the human woman-child and the Hippogryph. It quickly realized that both their scents were gathered together, near the increasing blood scent of his half-demon prey.

The kick connected which was a short lived victory for Lyern, as the demon lost its balance it also whipped back its tail trying to get a foothold.
"Huh..." where the only words Lyern thought as he could not avoid the incoming attack by the Buzoku Hantā, in a split second he felt the demons tail shattering most of the lower part of his right ribcage to the point of piercing his lung and almost going straight trough him.
The Buzoku Hantā after having felt its tail having struck flesh started moving its tail violently until it finally flung him away towards the rubble of one of the houses nearby.
Lyern soared momentarily in the air barely being able to breath while struggling to keep his eyes on the demon. As his attention was solely on the Buzoku Hantā he failed to noticed he was about to hit the ground, his seconds in the air came at a painful end as he crashed trough boards of rice paper walls which quickly fell atop of him along with other rubble.
His eyes started slowly closing as he was getting weak from the blood loss
but before he closed his eyes he saw a shadow from above.

"This shadow, it is that bird...I thought I them to get away from here" he thought before finally closing his eyes as he gasped for breath since he had a whole in one of his lungs and the remainder was being flooded by his blood.

After a few moments passed he heard a sound near him and not before long he felt most rubble that was on top of him suddenly being moved, since he was still not being attacked it couldn't had been the demon.
Soon enough he felt small arms wrap around him and a tug, it was the girl he saved she was now returning the favor to him.
Lyern felt her struggling to move him but was too weak at the moment to stand up and decided to conserve his strength for later use and for him to heal faster.
The girl managed to get them on the hard cobble stone street but as soon as the touched it a strange sound came from not too far away, in that instance Lyern opened his eyes and got on his knees after struggling to even bend over in a last effort to keep fighting in the event that they couldn't get away from it.
Grunts, raspy breathing and groans are all that could be heard of him as he continued to bleed more and more as he started using his sword as support to stand up, it took more out of him that he could had ever imagined.
He should had just ended the fight quickly instead of trying to conceal his demonic heritage from the bystanders.
Once he stood up he opened his opened his mouth which was filled with blood that started slowly dripping out of it
."G-girl...we have to go now before it starts running towards us, I won't be able to protect neither you or the bird proficiently." Lyern urged to the girl as he struggled to keep afoot.
