An odd man appeared from the woods and began to narrate things. Matthew ignored him and incited the spell once again, this time with much better success. Once he had it down he looked back, the same man was still there.

"May i help you?" He asked raising a curios eyebrow.

Traveling between dimensions was never a particularly pleasant experience, and despite how often he'd done it in his not-so-short time around, he was still at a loss for words at exactly how it felt. The familiar pulsing tingle across his skin, then that omnipresent pressure; it was as if he were being pushed through a fantastically large glob of mildly electrified jell-O. Then the barrier broke, the tingle quickly faded, and the world exploded into his eyes. The first thing he saw was the reflection of the sun, shining in the lake below; he must have been nearly fifty feet up. "Wow!" He said, widening his arms as he readied himself for flight. Rather than follow his whim, as reality generally tended to do, gravity fought valiantly and pulled him rapidly closer to the water's surface. "Hm. Quite curiou-" He was suddenly cut off by his own landing, splashing down violently into a part of the lake quite near the shore. After struggling to the top, he flailed over to the land and crawled across it, examining himself carefully.

He was a rather tall young fellow, dressed in now-soggy black slacks and a black button-up shirt, the sleeves rolled up just past his elbows. His hair was even darker than his clothing, but his eyes twinkled a brilliant seafoam green as he emerged from the waters with a smile. He glanced back up to the sky, where a rather large temporal rift was now sealing itself shut; a literal crack in the sky, a tear in spacetime that had an odd swirling purplish black mist just behind it. But after it closed, it was as if nothing had happened at all save for the strange man now walking onto the shore. He shook himself as dry as he could, and then took a moment to frown at his hands. He'd tried flying, that trick usually worked. And belly-flopping wasn't his idea of a great time, as much as he enjoyed free-falling... So he decided a minor test was in order. After finding a rock of suitable size- roughly as big around as an apple- he stared at it. The intensity of his stare was odd, almost furious, but even under this gaze the rock simply sat, apathetic to his frustration. He even lifted his hand towards it, gestured for it to lift free from the ground, but the rock merely struggled a bit before once more succumbing to gravity's whims. "Quite curious, indeed..."

It was about that time he happened to spot the others nearby. Two of them, both seemingly male, humanoid if not actually human- it was so hard to tell for him- but perhaps these two seemingly male humanoids would know and be able to tell him just where he was, if not why he was now near-powerless. He hustled over to them, sloshing about barefoot in his soggy clothing, wiping his hair from his face as he went. "Ah, yes! Excuse me! You two, do you speak English? Krakario d'Nok? Ah... Oh! I know! Vleeeeeeep Kakakaakaka!" The final piece wasn't even really a question, just a lot of gibberish noises. He only knew so many languages, hopefully at least one of them would catch with these fellows. One could only hope. If not, he could always try pantomiming. That seemed to work decently well with primitives and sophisticated species alike, although it generally led the sophisticated species to think of him as more primitive than anything. Of course, that always led to a surprise later on, when he finally managed to learn their language... But three of the places he'd landed so far had spoken plain English, so perhaps he'd get lucky here, too.

Firstly, the vampire in front of him didn't seem to be bothered by his strange habits at all. It was rather delightful, really. Matthew's dark past was of course a large burden to carry, but it---
"...only the servants, the guards were the first to fall. When his family lay dead, he had turned to his cowering father and sneered. 'You will feel my pain, forever.' He had lunged at him and bit his neck and shared with his father, his blood. He left him writhing in pain, doomed to suffer the same curse he now bore. Years passed and Matthew soon grew bored, he never aged and he tired of the mortals who he shared nothing with. And so he slept, planning never to awaken again - only to be awaken by a teacher of this school, and become one one of the teachers as well. "
--- was rather virtuous to carry it with such strength and not to make others suffer all the time because of your own pain. The past of the vampire in front of Storyteller was clearly visible.
"I see! No, no I need no help. The young man who will arrive soon could use it, however," the silver haired man answered.

Indeed, soon an youngster also joined the company of the two men who had just met.

"After seeing many, many dimensions, many lives, many experiences, that youngster had landed on this sub-dimension of Earth called "The Dragon Isle Academy". After realizing that his powers aren't the same as they used to be, he had found his way to this spot where Storyteller and the vampire had just met. Ah, yes, English sounds fair enough," he said to the youngster named Alex.
Storyteller could understand many languages. How many? He is not sure. How many could he speak? That was a total mystery.

THE YOUNGER SAT IN A CORNER AND LISTENED WITH THE REST OF THEM, AND COULD NOT IMAGINE WHAT THEY COULD MEAN. "I", STORYTELLER, APPEARED THERE → THAT MEANS ONE. "THEY ARE ALWAYS SAYING, IT MAKES ME SHUDDER, IT MAKES ME SHUDDER! IT DOES NOT MAKE ME SHUDDER," THOUGHT HE.

OR WHAT IF "I" AM A NO ONE → ZERO AGAIN? "THAT, TOO, MUST BE AND ART OF WHICH I UNDERSTAND NOTHING!" THE HORIZON BETWEEN NIGHT AND MORNING → WHY IS THAT TWO? AH, THE MEMORIES START TO FADE AGAIN.

"English, then? Fantastic! It was my first, after all." He grinned at that, staggering up to the two in an almost drunken stupor, still quite shaky from the breaching of time and space. "You, what are you doing? Are you narrating? How very strange," He muttered, raising an eyebrow at the Storyteller. "And how did you know that? About me? It wasn't psychic, that sort of thing doesn't work on me. So what, then...?" He peered closer, squinting as he stared at the center of the Storyteller's forehead. "Hm. Fascinating," he muttered at last, backing away and glancing at the other boy. "I have got absolutely no idea how he does it. Isn't that something?" He gave a slight pause, glancing back at the other boy for a longer moment. His head cocked slightly to the left for a moment, as though he'd just suddenly realized something that should have been obvious from the start.

"Hang on. Did he just say vampire? As in, you're a vampire?" Alex took another step closer to the boy, raising an eyebrow and giving him another once-over. "That's interesting, isn't it? What kind of vampires have they got, here? He said Earth, so that narrows it down a bit, but I've never heard of a sub-dimension called 'The Dragon Isle Academy.' So what is it, then? Human blood, or animal? You've obviously got some semblance of a mind, or you would've attacked by now. Is it a virus, or some sort of curse, or did you literally come back from the dead? Can you teleport? Ooh, that's a fun word, teleport. Teleport, teleport. I like that, I like it a lot." He frowned, shaking his head as he stepped back and waved a hand. "Sorry, sorry. I'm rambling now. Yes. Well. No offense, Mr. Vampire, about the whole interrogation thing... I'm simply curious. Trying to figure out where I am, you see. Well, actually thanks to our narrating friend here I know exactly where I am... But I am completely and totally, unarguably and indubitably lost."

At that, he blinked again and glanced between the vampire and the narrator and nodded. "Right, then. I'm Alex. Originally from Earth, Designated Reality A-621. And who might the two of you be?" Despite all his rambling, his bouncing from topic to topic almost as fast as he'd bounced out of the sky, and even the undeniable silliness the boy had about him, he seemed to carry a firm undertone of absolute confidence, an air of what might have been authority... Or arrogance. But it was a mild sort of arrogance, amiable and almost becoming to him.

Matt ignored the strange man and turned to the new boy.

Matthew laughed, the boy's questions seemed to amuse him. He snapped his fingers and his tome shrank and tucked into his pocket. "I'm in a good mood, so i guess i could answer those questions." He said with a slight smile. The boy's tone was what amused him most of all.

"Yes i am a vampire, i can live off all kinds of blood. To answer your next question, yes it is a curse. A witch place it upon me many millenniums ago." He said, hopefully it sated his curiosity.

"Ah right, I am Matthew Palamara, leader of Pyro branch. But you may call me Matt. It is nice to meet you Alex." He said bowing respectfully.

Storyteller waited patiently for his turn to introduce himself. He was just a servant, of course he would let the teacher speak first. So he placed the box on the ground and sat down to wait for his turn. The spot on the root of an old tree was actually surprisingly comfortable to sit at. While he was relaxing, he also decided to ignore the question about what is he exactly, because even Storyteller himself had no answer for that. "And I'm just a mere servant of this Academy, so please don't mind me or my twaddling. You can call me Storyteller!" he said and smiled after the vampire had stopped talking.

He looked up in the sky to see the top of the tree he was leaning on. The academy grounds were quite beautiful. That is the reason why Storyteller was glad to be able to work here.
However, this beautiful Academy was also rather unaware of the dark future that was slowly getting closer and closer. The newcomer was of course not aware of this, either. In fact, that man, an ancient vampire and a teacher, had no idea - even though he was just awakened by the very same woman who will be play a rather major role at this conflict very soon. That lady also shares blood ties with a man who will be the root of all the misfortune. And unfortunately that malevolent man didn't seem to be the alone either: he was the "root", but there was also multiple "branches" being born from that root.

Storyteller felt a bit upset because of these negative stories that were constantly going through his head, while he was trying to watch the treetops waving in the wind. However, those thoughts had nothing to do with the present moment. That is why he just shook his head and looked at the two males.

"I believe that you, Alex, should start a school career here to get back into shape. This is a small separate space from Earth, where all kinds of... Talented beings gather to learn to use their abilities. The teachers of the Academy, such as Mr. Palamara here, might be able to help you. He is very interested in teaching, and I also think that he is rather willing to share his knowledge of many things. His speciality is blood magic, I believe," Storyteller explained and smiled again.
As a mere "narrator" who has no right to change the storyline, he was not allowed to slip certain pieces of information out of his mouth just yet. Thus, his mouth was sealed for now about the possible future events.

"Merely a servant, huh?" Alex muttered, smirking slightly as he nodded towards the man. "Well, Mr. Storyteller, in my quite expansive experience I've learned quite a few things about servants. Without the 'mere' servants, not a damn thing would get done around places like this. I hardly think I'll mind any 'twaddling,' as you put it. After all, I ramble enough as it is- any complaint from me would be a hypocrisy." He chuckled at that, and then glanced back to the vampire.

"Matthew, huh? Oddly enough, I had a very close friend by the same name back on my own version of Earth. He irritated me to no end, but he also saved my a** on more occasions than I care to count. It's a good name. And a teacher, hm?" He raised an eyebrow at that mention by the Storyteller, which brought a smile to his face. "Wonderful. And millenniums old? I've honestly lost track, myself; this body is a bit younger than twenty, I daresay, but up here?" He pointed at his head, resting his forefinger against his temple and smiling. "I don't quite remember." When he glanced back at the Storyteller, now revealing that this 'Dragon Isle Academy' was a school for 'talented beings' to learn to use their abilities, a sudden sadness came across his smile.

"Is it, now? How very interesting," he said quietly, nodding. From past experience, only being taken where he was needed, he assumed it could be the same here; he was needed here, or would be rather soon. Not that he'd do anyone much good in his current state; nearly powerless, compared to how he'd been only days ago. Of course, time between dimensions was completely unpredictable, so his mere seconds here could translate to months or even centuries back in the world he'd just emerged from. Not that there was much of a world to go back to, in all honesty; his own original world had fallen quite some time ago, and this most recent world he'd visited wasn't exactly in the finest of shape. Here was as good as any a place to stay, for the time being, he supposed; a school, after all. What better place to reacquaint himself with his own powers, and discover just why they were so dampened in this place. "I think I'd like that," he nodded, smiling between the two men. "I think I'd like that a lot."

Matt looked back at the Storyteller with a curios eye, he seemed to be lost in thought or something. But the moment Alex spoke he looked back. At the mention of the word friend, matt looked down. He could still clearly remember his old servants. Well they were more friends then servants, that is why he spared them that dark night.

"Yes, although i was just awakened from slumber not more then a day ago. Before you ask why, I lost my purpose, so i slept. When eternity lies in front of you with no purpose, tell me what would you do?" He chuckled slightly. "I was...rather young when i was cursed." He said, he would never admit it, but he would have done things much differently if he had the chance.

Matt smirked suddenly. "Well then, if your going to stay then you'll need to pick a branch. I can tell you now, your not exactly Pyro branch material." Matt laughed, he like other powerful beings could sense the energy and power of others.

"Without the 'mere' servants, not a damn thing would get done around places like this."
Storyteller uttered a small laughter. Today even he had noticed that he wasn't actually an elite servant at all. The man wasn't sure if that's the way he always is, or if he was just having a bad day. He had lost his memory, after all. But then, why is he feeling so strangely calm and indifferent, even though he has no memories of his personal past? Storyteller simply assumed that maybe, just maybe, it means that this wasn't the first time when this happened. What on earth is going on? In fact he knew exactly what was going on. So the correct question is: What on earth is HE?

Indeed, the fact that he knew was the strangest problem - this constant information that goes through his mind. It just won't stop. Never. Ever. Right now he knew that the appearance of the youngster named Alex was just another prophecy that supported the possibility of something big happening soon. He also knew that Matt was looking at him just a moment ago, even though he didn't see it with his own eyes.
"Ah. Yes. I forgot to mention that. Each student of the Academy belongs to a 'Branch'," he explained while picking up a bottle of wine from the grocery box, "and these Branches define the main element of your skills. Pyro stands for fire. Mr. Palamara here is the leader of that branch. Aqua is water, Aero is air, Geo is earth, Daiurn is light, Nocturn is darkness, Necro is spirit and Neo is non-aligned. You are most likely going to join Neo, but..."
Storyteller also knew that the bottle of wine in his hands was rather fancy. He knew that the wine was going to taste marvelous, too.

"...How about showing Mr. Palamara a sample of your skills in any case?" Storyteller said. He looked at Alex and smiled when he opened the bottle.
"I can stay here to fix the possible damage that your demonstration causes. Someone has to do it, after all."
Storyteller had decided to just sit back, watch, and enjoy the wine.
Because for some reason he knew has to quietly follow the script, no matter what.

Alex gave a quiet smile as Matthew explained he wasn't Pyro-branch material; at first he wasn't a hundred percent sure what that meant, exactly, but he had a pretty good idea considering the context clues. Then when it was spelled out for him by the Storyteller, he nodded and his smile grew a bit. "Oh, you're quite right. I'm not nearly brash or hot-headed enough to be a fire-wielder. Pun completely intended. But you're quite right- I'm not truly affiliated with any of the elements, per say. My powers aren't steeped in magic at all, truth be told."

At the suggestion of a demonstration of power, Alex raised an eyebrow. He'd just attempted to move a rock, and struggled. However his powers had been affected by traversing time and space, it wasn't good; he was even weaker than he'd been at this age the first time around! Which was really confusing, when he considered it, but shrugged the thought off and glanced between the two. "To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of fighting. Even just sparring, really. I suppose if that's what it'll take for you to figure out where I 'belong' here, I can participate this once... But I'm incredibly weak, as compared to where I'm used to being. So don't expect anything fantastic or miraculous, alright?"

"Ready or not, here i come." He said as calmly as could be.

Matthew smiled, his eyes were ablaze with a silent fire. Matt raised his hand and used his Summon Fire ability. His hand burst into fire. The suddenly a snake like fire wove its way from the ground up around his legs, then around his torso. When it twisted up to his shoulders it took the shape of a dragon head. Matthews muscles tensed ever so slightly, the dragon head lunged at Alex like a snake.

"Waste no time, huh? Fair enough," Alex muttered, watching in mild amusement as the man displayed his theatrics with the firesnakedragon thing. Not altogether too impressive, considering Alex knew a man who literally walked through the center of an ongoing atomic explosion and lived to tell about it, but Matthew's fire-shapes required more skill than he'd seen in a while. This would be an interesting fight, to say the least. He took a step back, readying himself. His mind raced; what did he know about vampires? About fire? About his surroundings? And how could he take all of this information, combine it in his head, and formulate a plan that gave him the upper hand? Time almost seemed to slow down, in his eyes, as his head spun with ideas and simulations of attack strategies. At the same time, his 'feelers' snaked out from his skin; invisible, intangible, practically nonexistent, the only thing these telekinetic probes were good for was basically to grasp a better understanding of his surroundings. Thankfully this skill seemed to be untouched, as he suddenly gained a very detailed insight as to their surroundings. Just in time, it seemed, as the dragon head lunged at him.

The first thing to take care of was that nasty little attack the man had going. His mind grasped out at the air before him, mind flashing back to all his past experiences with fire. "How familiar are you with the natural sciences? Chemistry, biology and the like?" He asked casually, watching with a smirk as the flame head reached out for him before suddenly dissipating. "I am fortunate enough to have a decently thorough education, and you'll be interested in this- it is, after all, one of fire's greatest weaknesses." He took a step forward, releasing his grip on the air; letting the original molecules back into place. "You see... Combustion is, at its most basic form, a chemical reaction that requires three things; heat, fuel, and some sort of oxidizer. Magic fire is neat, as it eliminates the need for one of those things- fuel. However, all fire still requires an oxidizer of some kind; the most commonly used would obviously be oxygen, considering its abundance. However, when you remove the oxygen, thus removing the oxidizer required for the combustion to occur..." He snapped his fingers, and grinned. "Like blowing out a candle."

Without glancing over his shoulder, he raised a hand; an orb of water, roughly the size of a grapefruit, rose from the lake and hovered next to them. "Lesson two. Clouds," he said, glancing at the water and smirking. With another snap, it began disintegrating; or rather, becoming nearly invisible, water vapor floating around them. "Because, you see, even in supersaturated air, fire is still possible. Especially magical fire, requiring no fuel. However, when that supersaturated air condenses into ice crystals, you'll have a hard time even getting a spark. Normally, that'd be impossible; it's much too warm to freeze water vapor here, especially with you being all flame-o. However, rearranging the water vapor on a molecular level- while an astounding feat for most- is actually feasible for me." His eyes suddenly lit up, flashing red; his veins began pouring light, and almost immediately after that, blood began trickling down his cheeks from his eyes. But the air thickened, and a hazy mist began to form; he coughed a bit, stooping down to pick up a handful of dirt. "Oddly enough, there is one last ingredient for clouds; some form of pollutant, be it dust, chemical smog, charcoal and ashes... Or, in this case, dirt."

With a sudden jerk, the dirt was tossed into the air, and the results were instantly visible. The light mist suddenly condensed into a thick, foggy haze that was, as the colloquialism goes, thick as pea soup. Alex smirked a bit at this, taking a moment to admire it; not only had he removed his enemy's capability for creating his source of offense, but also reduced the visibility to near nothing. Alex, on the other hand, was still fully capable of dealing out damage, and had his telekinetic feelers that ignored the fog completely. He had a lock on Matthew, he had all the weapons he needed simply lying around waiting to be used, and he had all the time in the world. "Now then... Let's begin, shall we?" Almost as if on command, fist-sized rocks began launching themselves at Matthew one at a time, with only a little more force than one would lob a snowball with. Even if they connected, which was likely, they wouldn't leave much more than a bruise, if that; Alex was not out to actually hurt the man, merely demonstrate his capabilities. And show off a bit, of course, but hey. That was the fun part.

Matt smirked, he did in fact know about much of chemistry and the like. He had once aspired to be a scholar after all.

"Interesting." Matt said. The spiraling dragon fizzled away, it was just something he used to start off anyway. As the fog appeared he laughed, before he slept the small village he called home was subject to heavy fog during the winter and cold mornings.

His ears could easily pinpoint the single rocks hurled at him. With inhuman speed he seemed to flit from side to side, dodging the rocks. One hit him on his shoulder but he did not seem to notice. 'Hmm should i use it now? No...not yet. Much too soon.' He thought. Instead he waved both hands, his hands became encrusted in vines and soon a small flower bloomed. It was his Blistering Defense ability. As if on cue dozens of large pods burst from the ground and bloomed into large flowers. They were most beautiful, but deadly.

IS THIS MY STORY? OR IS IT NOT? GRETEL WEPT BITTER TEARS, AND SAID TO HANSEL, "NOW ALL IS OVER WITH US." "BE QUIET, GRETEL,"

SAID HANSEL, "DO NOT DISTRESS THYSELF, I WILL SOON FIND A WAY TO HELP US."
AT FIRST THERE WAS NO ONE HERE → THAT WAS ZERO. AND WHEN THE OLD FOLKS HAD FALLEN ASLEEP, HE GOT UP, PUT ON HIS LITTLE COAT, OPENED THE DOOR BELOW AND CREPT OUTSIDE:

Even though Storyteller was just sitting there and watching the others, and of course trying hard not to disturb them or get on their way, he unfortunately failed at that simple task. He had wondered if the weather would stay nice and clear, but when he looked at the treetops again, he could notice the small herd of clouds getting closer to him all the time. He had been expecting them for some time now, actually.
These clouds were an unneeded part of his magical abilities. The blizzards and snow will reach him sooner or later, no matter where he went. It rarely happened inside buildings, of course. But earlier, when Storyteller was feeling a bit upset, he did soon find a small cloud following him even indoors. The man had no idea why were the blizzards so keen on him, but he did know that they were a real pain.

So, thanks to the haunting ability of his, it soon started to snow. Right now it was just a couple of large snowflakes gently dancing in the air. But soon the snow would pile up, and even freeze the ground. That means that the surfaces will also get awfully slippery.
"Uhh... Sorry about that. I can't really help it, though," he yelled at Alex and Matthew "It's kinda an ability of mine, but I really can't do much anything about it."
Storyteller did try to hold back the snow a bit, but he was just slowing down the inevitable coldness that will follow. In fact, the gentle snowflakes might soon turn into an awful blizzard against his will.

(OOC: Admire my fabulous short post. I'm really bored.)
