I do believe they are meant for more than just Yuko's house cleaners. They must have some purpose, but maybe we are not meant to know it. Its just so much fun to theorize.

I think they are another part of Yuko's grand scheme. In all this chaos she seems to know everything. Perhaps Maru and Moro are another piece in the grand plan of Hitsuzen.

XXX is almost just a companion of Tsubasa. It really doesnt have that much of a plot, unlike Tsubasa.
Oh, and Maru and Moro are just servents, arent they? Mabye more, you say?

Yes, I agree. She seems to know a lot of what happens, and unlike most characters, doesn't try to change things. So I wonder what is going on with Maru and Moro.
Perhaps could they have something to do with Clow? Like be a joint creation or something? Or will the return or creation of Maru and Moro's souls occur? And it it does, why? And will it mark something important?

you know what's upsetting?
That at the end of the first Tsubasa, it gives you a part of xxxholic where Watanuki is cleaning the store and then he finds Sakura's staff, which is plastic, and then it leaves you at a cliff hanger and I'm dying to know what she said about it, but that part hasn't come up yet. It's so annoying. stressed

Thats one reason I love CLAMP, they give you a simple story and add lots of layers.
