BLARGH!
IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN ABORTION/GAY MARRIAGE DON'T HAVE ONE!!!
/breathe.
But srsly. Issues like our failing economy (yes, in case you didn't notice it is failing with a capital FAIL) and which wars we fight are far more important.
Palin makes me angry. I feel like she's ruining it for other women. At least she's got her looks right?
Obama is my pick (though I was originally for Hilary), because he outlines his plans in plain words, and uses specifics.
Furthermore...
I work 40 hours per week. I am entitled to healthcare. End of story.
Someone earlier was saying something about "If you want healthcare, get a job." I agree, but not all employers offer healthcare, or if they do it's waaay overpriced for the coverage.
Joe the non-plumber who owes back taxes needs to ******** off with his fake southern accent.
Honestly I don't agree with a lot of Obama's ideas, but I think he's more likely to be able to help the economic crisis and to me this is the most important issue. Well that and the issue of making sure Sarah Failen never gets close to any white house position.
Also the bipartisan system is bullshit. Each side is extreme left or extreme right. Can't we have a moderate party?

I DONT THINK WE'RE SCREWED EITHER WAY. AND I THINK PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT ARE CYNIC BASTARDS.
As long as we're out of iraq, that's all I ask of a president. This is why I'm supporting obama. Other than that, we'd do no worse under McCain as we are bush, and probably a bit better.
I also see Obama as the best chance to fix our economy. Just because he's so for change.
But. I'm also planning on moving to Canada in the next year/two. If we get too screwed....I'll just go sooner. So I don't have much at stake.
ALSO I'm supporting a Republican for Senate in my state. Because I agree so so so much more with republicans about school and they have more of a chance of fixing our education system here. And there isn't much more than school that he's going to change that I care about, other than gay marriage, which would be a good 4-6 years off anyway, by which time we can elect someone new.

Pixie Saylor I DONT THINK WE'RE SCREWED EITHER WAY. AND I THINK PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT ARE CYNIC BASTARDS. I agree. No one person is going to screw over the ENTIRE country. I think Obama and McCain would both do a great job. Maybe they will have some issues, but they are human. Any president would have problems. I really hate when people say Bush screwed our country. Its like ONE MAN does NOT ruin a country. Our country isnt set up so ONE person runs it. The president cant just say "Lololol lets do this" one day and that's that. He has to have other people backing him up. The president is not a dictator like people think 3 It so doesnt help that this country has about 5 bajillion different cultures so that no one will ever agree on anything and there will always be fighting XD God I could never be president. I would probably end up just bombing this country. Lawl xd And yeah it would be nice to have someone who was in the middle, instead of one of the extremes, but that wont happen. Lol do you watch South Park? They have this one episode where the town is split into two extreme sides, for war and anti-war, and they try to kill each other and stuff. But in the end they realize that they need both extremes - one extreme does what America needs, which makes us look bad, while the other side is all "OMG It's only some crazies who wanted that to happen! Most of America didnt gonk which makes us look good. Therefore we do what we want no matter how douche-y it is and the citizens still look good biggrin Off topic kind of but whatever because this ENTIRE THREAD is off topic XD - Does anyone else get REALLY annoyed at the people who get REALLY annoyed when someone calls the US "America"? Because I've been hearing that alot lately and it seriously gets on my nerves. This is the United States of AMERICA. United States = What we are, America = Our actual name. I mean the Republic of Congo doesnt call themselves "The Republic." But people keep telling me "Canada and Mexico, and every country in South America are American too mad So the US shouldnt call itself America as if its the only country in this continent" and its like "So Canadians and Mexicans can be American, but people from the COUNTRY America can not?" I'm fine with everyone on these continents calling themselves Americans if they want to, but I think Americans should be allowed to call themselves Americans as well 3

Zepia Eltnam Oberon I do support Obama, but I am questioning why he chose to spend a shitload of money for that thirty-minute infomercial of his. Wasn't his campaign bitching about how the Republican party spent $150,000 on Sarah Palin's clothes?
That said, I don't want McCain in the White House. McCain changes what he says over and over. I mean, this is the guy who, back in the days, said that people shouldn't resort to baseless attack ads. Now what's he doing? ATTACKING OBAMA VIRTUALLY 24/7. Granted, the Obama campaign has been using attack ads of their own, but it's nowhere as bad as McCain's side.
As for Sarah Palin... Sarah Palin is one of the worst mistakes ever made, and even Republicans are agreeing with it. Her comments on community organizers being useless, her answers that conflict with the McCain campaign's answers, her blatant corruption - charging the Alaska government to fund trips for her ******** KIDS, the Bridge to ******** nowhere and so on - and all the s**t that she does makes me wonder if she's just being plain old crazy. She keeps on talking about her "hometown values" in that nauseating tone of hers, which makes me want to explode.
Plus, there's that clothes thing. The $150,000 clothes budget. They say it's going to be used for charity. WHAT KIND OF ******** HOMELESS MAN NEEDS A DESIGNER BRAND SUIT? GIVE THEM FOOD AND SHELTER, FOR GOD'S SAKES.
Joe the Plumber? JOE THE ******** UNLICENSED IGNORANT ASSWIPE FAILURE OF A PLUMBER? I swear, Joe the Plumber makes the dumbest remarks. Indeed, he made so many ******** dumbass remarks that they replaced him with Tito the Builder or something. Makes me wonder where the Republicans manage to find some of these morons.
Another group that pisses me off is PUMA. PUMA is a bunch of sexist ******** bitches. Hilary / Palin? WHAT THE ******** IS WRONG WITH THOSE RETARDED ******** BITCHES? Just because the two of them are women doesn't mean they share the same ******** values.
I don't think Obama is some sort of saint, but he's way better than McCain / Palin. btw I quoted this on a seperate website, the admin was saying all this dumb s**t about obama and was saying how great mccain and palin are. xD

You know what pisses me off? That so many people ASSUME that this election is ONLY about the president :/
I mean I know online discussing the other elections are hard, because we're all from different states, but still its important.
Like in NV there are senators right now who are trying to legalize using the death penalty on minors, and letting kindergarten teachers bring guns into the class room. And NV is trying to make amendments changes concerning eminent domain. And OMG higher education budget cuts are crazy gonk And they want to start taxing hotel guests an extra 3% to use for public education. All of these things have to be voted on. But people are like "I dont like Obama OR McCain so im not voting" AS IF thats the ONLY reason to vote.
LAME.

I voted for a whole bunch of people who were altogether smarter than the average presidential nominee.
And there was a nutty amendment on the Florida Ballot (I voted no on it, but many people would disagree with my opinion). It gave the state the right to take away illegitimate immagrants' property. You can look it up if you want, but I saw it as taxation without representation in a country that supposedly espouses the ideals that coincide with Lady Liberty. "Give me you sick, your heavy laden, you poor, etc."
Buuuuut. I'm a proud that I voted for Nina Ashenafi Richardson for Circuit Judge in Group 5. More so than of McCain - yes, I voted for him, but only because Mitt Romney endorsed him.
I have candidate loyalty, no party loyalty can be found here.
---
I love voting on the local level, I'd love to vote for presidential hopefuls during the primaries -stupid Florida Legislature- and I'd find voting on the national level if it weren't for the electorate college.
