"Oh you don't like storms?" He was a bit saddened. "I think they are marvelous....well not a huge destructive ones...small storms are nice!" A crackle of thunder rumbled though the house and creaky floor boards of the room. "I could ya know go get a kerosene lamp! Then I could paint...I'll be right back!"
Khami rummaged though the closet across the hall. Finding the lamp he made his way back into the room. "Here we go! Now what shall I paint?" His stomach fluttered nervously. Another flash of lightning flickered though the window.

It wasn't that she didn't like storms. She just wasn't fond of the loud crashes that thunder made. As embarrassing as it was, loud noises frightened her. She sat down, not liking to be left alone in a strange dark place like this. The lightning cast eerie shadows around her, and she lowered her head, starting to feel like she could make herself smaller and less vulnerable. But then Khami returned with the lamp. When he had set it down, and the lamp was glowing merrily, Juillet relaxed quite a bit, and let out a sigh. She watched him as he sat before his canvas. "Art should be something you love, so paint something you love?" She said softly.

"Something I love..." Khami pondered over the words. He loved how today went. He was having quite an eventful day...quite an unexpected day. Mixing the colors he needed he began to slowly paint. He was still nervous with her so close.
Minutes passed as he worked away. He reminisced on what events he loved the most. Then he he stopped...he changed his mind. Switching the colors he picked he quickly fixed where he left off. Thirty minutes later Khami smiled, laid the paint brush down and stood back. There before him on the canvas was him and Juillet sharing a blueberry pie. Small blueberries bordered the canvas.

Juillet had to dig her claws into the floor once when there was a loud crash. The booms getting closer.
She watched as he started painting, wondering what he was making, and then suddenly he switched. Slowly, she could see the scene unfold. Blueberries, them... He painted them? She would have started blushing had another crash of thunder startled her. She practically tackled Khami, her face going under one of his paws. She was pressed against him, trying to not shake.

He never expected what would happen then after he laid the brush down. There she was practically on top of him shaking.
“Aaaa…ummmm…” He noticed how scared and shaken she was after that loud thunder clap. “Awwww don’t be afraid there’s nothing to hurt ya while we are here in the house.” He decided not to go in to a full scientific description on what thunder and lightning was and laid his paw on her shoulder for comfort. The rain outside fell hard against the old glass window. Khami exhaled slowly. “Doesn’t that sound pretty?” He looked down at her. “I find the sound of rain to be very relaxing…just listen.” He shifted his form so it was comfortable. “I think you squished your flower when you dove at me.” He ‘fluffed’ the small petal up the best he could.

She looked up at him through the strands of her disheveled mane. "I don't care for the loudness of the storms." She said softly while he fixed her flower. She smiled at him a little. They grew in her human's greenhouse, so she wasn't too worried about it. But it was nice that he took the time to fix it for her. "Thank you." She closed her eyes, shifting with him a little so it was slightly less awkward for her as well. The rain did sound nice, yes. When it wasn't masked by the thunder. She braced herself every time there was a flash of lightning. "You paint beautifully."

Khami turned every shade of red manageable. “Aaahh...thanks!” A small chuckle escaped. “Ya you asked what I loved and I thought I really liked how today turned out…oooor rather what it could have turned out like...sooo I decided to paint that…” He went silent not knowing what to say next. He wondered if what he said even made sense. When it came to lady friends Khami knew nil. This being said the young demon was aflutter not knowing what would happen next. The rain continued to pour on the small apt complex.

Juillet smiled as he spoke with such fluster. "You know, the day is not over yet. Because of the storm, I... I have no intentions of leaving just yet. If I'm allowed to stay that is." She looked back up at the picture with a smile. Even if it weren't exactly like that, this day was still great. She closed her eyes, resting her head on her paws. "If there's no chance of pie... we could have more berries. And pick more tomorrow after the storm if your human will make a pie then."

"Sure ya knows you can stay...you can drop by any time ya wish!" He was happy she brought it up since he was enjoying her company very so.
Khami's tummy rumbled almost as loud as the thunder. "I'm game for that." He stood up and stretched his full length out. "I'll be right back with them...or would you rather go somewhere else to eat?"

Go somewhere? In this weather? Juillet wondered if maybe he was a bit daffy, or if he had something in mind. She lay there a moment more, and stretched, her toes wiggling. "I'll follow you. Since this is your home, and I'm not familiar with anything around this area." When she stood, she shook herself a little. "But if we're going somewhere... will we frighten people? And won't we get wet? I've gone many places with my human and people just don't see us. Though some have, and they scream and freak out. It's a spectacle." Suddenly, it sounded like an amusing game. "Let's go somewhere." She grinned.

“Well I meant to another area of the apt…” He laughed, “but if ya wants to go out in this weather then it’s fine with me!” He smiled, swaying his tail back and forth. “It actually sounds like the rain may be stopping.” He listened for the tinkering of the droplets on the roof. " I think so..."

With a chuckle, Juillet walked around Khami, a mischivious grin n her face. "I feel like going out. You know, a night on the town... A date." She eyed him happily. "What do you say?" There was still a hint of something in her voice. A playful tone, like she had an idea for something fun, that would probably get them in trouble.

“A date?” Khami gulped. She was asking him on a date and all he thought was that he would never think a female would ever say that to him. “Umm…Aaa…sure!” His cheeks turned red and his belly fluttered. He actually felt weak in the legs. “I’ve never been to town before…” He felt a bit embarrassed. “I’m not a crowd person.” He hung his head and looked back up at her to see what her reaction would be. “So what did you have in mind to do?” A few stars peeped out next to the heavy rain clouds.

She smiled. "Well... I've been rather starved for entertainment. Since my house has fallen into routine and all. I want to go out and have some fun." She looked at him with a little pout. "And dinner."

“Where would a demon go out to dinner to in town though?” He ran though the mental image of humans fleeing or they being turned away for what they are. That was one reason he stayed away from the urban centers. His tail twitched slightly thinking of it all. One thing Khami did was work himself up; even if the situation wasn’t a big deal.
