I said that they'd drop one or two games. OMG!! They'll only win 11 or 12 games instead of 13?!?!?!?! Blasphemy!

that is blasphemy to think they will get the same record as the saints.

Again. Cowboys are over rated. Let's see if they can extend their streak to 13 years without a playoff win.

I really wouldn't hate the Cowboys so much if they weren't so over rated. Yes, they do well during the season. I know they got 13-3 the last season.

But they haven't won a playoff game (much less made it to the Super Bowl) in twelve years. Tony Romo chokes late in the season and during the playoffs, but everybody looks past that. Why do people make excuses for him?

First year, he fumbles the ball on one of the most basic, elementary plays in the entire game and what do people say?:
-It's his first year.
-It was a different ball and it was slippery.

Second year, he gives new meaning to TO in Dallas. He threw at least one interception in all but three games. In the last three games of the season, he threw 5 interceptions and 1 TD. That's worse than Kitna. People started wondering what happened to Tony, but luckily, he has an excuse:
-Jessica Simpson.

Seriously? Are people that desperate to celebrate Tony Romo that they'll make up excuses like Jessica Simpson for his lack of performance?

---

Anyway, with all that said, the Cowboys will still probably make the playoffs, but I don't think they're the team to beat in the NFC this year.

Saints will show that '07 was a fluke and they'll go from 7-9 to 12-4. Cowboys might have the same record, but I don't see them doing 13-3 again.

I think Green Bay will have the biggest drop off next season. Off season drama never helps. If Brett Favre plays, the tension will destroy team chemistry and the team locker will become a meat locker. If Brett plays elsewhere, I don't think Aaron Roders will be able to simulate last season's success in his first year as a starter.

Nicely put about Romo and his excuses in the playoffs. Yet I think that just barely, the Cowboys are the team to beat in the NFC. The Giants, Packers (with Favre), Redskins, Seahawks, Bucs, Vikings, and Saints could all make the case as well. I don't think Dallas will go 13-3 again this year, with their division getting even better.

I don't see that much of a turnaround for the Saints this season. Their offense is healthier and improved. Their defensive line and linebackers are improved. But their secondary is shallow, keeping them from being "elite."

The Packers will do well again, and I predict Favre to be back with Green Bay. They will probably make the playoffs with Favre, but the division race will be close with the Vikings.

I don't hate the Cowboys, but I tend to root against them since I'm a Giants fan.

I think they are the team with the best pure talent and athletes in the NFC, but that doesn't mean a Super Bowl title chance. They have had chemistry problems in the past, which have cost them a playoff win in 12 seasons. If they pull it together, they'll be one of the toughest teams to beat. I wouldn't be surprised if they win the NFC East again, but I think that they'll drop a few games from last season. They're playing in the very tough NFC East, where all three teams improved, and New York is coming off a Super Bowl ring and a playoff win in Dallas. The Cowboys, aside from the division, have tough games @ Green Bay, vs. Tampa Bay, vs. Seattle, and @ Pittsburgh. Many pick them as NFC favorites, but I'll wait until I see a playoff victory first.

I'll clear things up a bit and say that I don't think the Cowboys suck. I think they're one of the top teams in the NFC. I just don't think they are THE team in the NFC. Top-5 at worst.

So how can I say all this and call them over rated? Because people keep picking them to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl despite their lack luster play-off performances.

---

The Saints secondary struggled a lot last year, but it wasn't entirely their fault. The D-line was weak and gave QB's way too much time. I think we've made huge improvements with Ellis, McCrary, and Vilma; enough improvement to take off a ton of pressure from our secondary. The secondary also got a minor face lift with 2nd round pick Tracy Porter and Randall Gay from New England. Sean Payton says CB Jason David improved from last season, and though I'm inclined to believe Coach Payton, it doesn't mean Jason David's good. It just means he's not as bad.

---

As far as the original topic goes, Eli's clearly the more successful QB as he's already won a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP; but I don't know if he's better. They both have very lack-luster moments and they both get pretty lucky. I think Romo still has a good chance at ending up with the better career, but as of right now, Eli's the more complete QB.

Agreed on the Cowboys. Not picking them to win the Super Bowl, but they could be the team to beat in the NFC during the regular season. They don't have the recent success in the playoffs. They definitely have the players, but the chemistry still needs to be found.

The Saints really boosted their secondary by picking up Gay. Ellis and Vilma were good acquisitions too. Shockey could be the final piece to their offense, although I would have picked up another receiver or center (Goodwin cannot run block).

no hes not. mark my words he is a one hit wonder. they will keep him around 2 more years and the giants will figure out that he sucks

You got your point across, "eli sucks balls".
Ok.
We'll just see in 2008 who's choking on their own balls.

*Cough *cough, who was right and who was wrong?

ohh yea and only half of the season has gone by, eli is basicly a game manager, the giants succses is brandon jacobs and the d-line. Romo is playing QB with a broken pinkie sucsessfully, lets see Eli of even your Precious peyton do that.

Thank you. A Cowboys fan that can actually admit the Eli has had the better career so far. Super Bowl MVP for Eli Manning. You know your football. Watch and learn Spike Super Saiyan.
