I'm 14, and I've been sittin down and playin for probably 6 years now, Been around guitars mah whole life, hence my dad being in a coolio band back in the 80s. I know, rock on.

First guitar was an Ibanez ARC-100 it's nothing special, but I still have it, and i'm never going to get rid of it. I hate when people put guitars on walls and never play them, but it's my wall guitar now that I have an Epiphone G-400. It's going to stay that way, and if it ever got stolen or broken, I would probably kill somebody.

If I were you, I'd play it once in a blue moon - it's not good for guitars never to be played.

Well obviously I still play it, but hardly ever. The only time that I do is when i'm to busy to fiddle with the lock on my Epiphone case. But I have the strings waaaaaaaay down tuned (like four steps) anyways so that they won't bow the neck. (And yes, it is still playable like that, and quite fun for songs with alot of bends in them.)

My first guitar was an Ibanez GRX from the jumpstart package. That guitar sucked so bad but when I got it I played the hell out of it lol. It's been about 8 years now and I've upgraded it, had some DiMarzio pickups put in, and I have 4 other guitars added to my collection as well as some amps. biggrin

My first guitar was an Encore acoustic that I got from Argos.

Squier. Still have it. Covered in stickers.
Was a little set that came with an amp, pics, and all that jazz.

A steel string(thick) acoustic guitar. Im still playing it. I didn't know they had thinner picks until recently and now I'm still using the same pick. 4mm. I feel like a dumbass.

My first guitar was an Epiphone SG, and I put cheap gold plates on the humbuckers to make it look cooler, what a piece of crap, I have since moved on to Musicmans and G&Ls, much nicer sounding.

I've had it for a month. It was this, with picks, strings, capo, and a bunch of other goodies included or Guitar Hero for the same price. I think I made the right choice. I got it after Christmas as a present to myself, I've had it for just over a month now and I love it. Only I need to learn better tuning techniques...

And that hideous blue thing on the third fret is my craptacular capo.

First guitar, had to think a bit about that, it was a Korean Renegade, got it when I was in grade 11. Many years ago now. Red with black crackle-look, didn't have much going for it, but it was a very average-sounding guitar. That was three guitars ago.

My first bass I got just over a year ago, a Sammick "Corsair". Sounds decent, and a nice price tag sold me on it. Its main purpose is for backing tracks on songs I compose. And its also sweet to play something new.

I had a classical one that I still have with me... My first electric one was an Eko les Paul, a cheap italian Les Paul Classic imitation... ^^

I totally think you made the right decision. There is no way a game about playing guitar is better than really learning how to play one. It's like buying a copy Gran Turismo 3 versus owning a Porsche.

It strikes me that someone needs to make a game where you can plug in a real guitar. . .
