yes there is still racism in the world today. There is always going to be racism because the people that are racist today will teach there kids and so on. There is more than just white against black though. Many people hate others because of the special treatment they get. For instance the government lets African Americans have an all black college. If white people did that they would be called the kkk or arian nation. There are mexican gangs that fight black gangs. Many people hate each other and dont even know why. That is why there will be racism in this world forever. People just need to love all of Gods creations and we would live in a better place

of coarse it does in some areas in certain social groups. i was walkin through a mexican neighborhood from my brothers house to the store to pick up smokes, thinking nothing of it cause i got mexican, chinese, black, and white familly..... some mexican girls called my attention so i walked accross the street just to talk. i had no intentions of hittin on any of them, just introducing my self and making friends with the neighborhood. then those girls cousins or brothers or homeboys came out the house lookin like they was gonna ******** kill me. as sad as it is, im thankfull those girls stuck up for me and kept them away from trying to fight me. after we all had talked for about a half an hour, me and the guys shook hands and s**t was cool. but if those girls didnt defend me, i would have gotten ******** up by 5 crazy a** sureno vatos. i think the main reason those girls stuck up for me is cause they believed me when i told them who two of my cousins are. turned out that 2 os those girls are second cousins to my cousins. its a crazy thing, but thank god for inter-racial familia! lol

don't necessarily think it has to do totally with skin color though.

I think its ignorance that not all people are like the culture they belong to.

for instance. Because i'm southern, an i do take a lil bit of pride for being southern. I'm instantly labeled a redneck..which is far from the truth. If you knew me..then you'd know i'm as far from a redneck as you could be.

However I am proud of my haratiage(sp?) and what my ancestors did ect ect.

even in the media, what are southerners portrayed as? Stupid racist hicks who sleep with their sisters brother ....step child's mother and shoot anything that moves. WHICH AGAIN! is far from the average joe blow southerns truth.
stare:

Now I personally hate "black ghetto" culture. I think it demeans the African American , why in the world would you want to be a "thug" or the "thug life".
and i admit that i do look down apon people who find that life style cool . I don't believe leading the life of a convict is anything to be happy about.
THOUGH i know not all black people are like that, I've had allot of great friends who were black.

Also, honestly black people are just as racist if not more so than white people. They are allowed to call each other the N word but, were not cause it apparently a reminder of their enslavement by the "white man".

you know in Africa slave trades still happen. White people were also slaves, what about people from Ireland that came over as indentured servants? They were pretty much slaves.

hmm im sorry, ive seen racism first hand....and I've seen the hatred that some black people have towards white people. For no reason at all. My family never owned one slave..but, aparently because of my skin..color i have to pay for the mistake of owning another human life.

which is wrong, i agree with that. BUT if you look at the actual history slaves actually had a decent life. Most of them, not all slave owners were horrible people. All slaves had their own living quarters, their own small patch of land so they could grow their own crops, they were provided clothes, and the slaves that worked in the house usually were educated in some way.

Most people during that time didn't know half of the time where their next meal was coming from. They had to go kill it or dig it out of the ground. Slaves never had that problem...

In the south..it was frowned apon seriously to treat your slaves badly.
After the civil war the economy in the south totally collapsed because of the lack of workers... and it slavery would have ended in just a few years anyways because of the cotton gin.

Iiiiii don't see why black people hold that over white peoples heads.

if anything they should be upset over the treatment of being forced to constantly be seperate. Or not having the right to vote or basic human rights....something like that. but certainly not because of slavery.

Though I harp on the black and white racism. I have experienced it from asian people as well. My friends and I used to ...just ADORE everything even remotely asian lol wewould love togo to true karaoke bars...and we've been asked to leave because we were white. "We no speak english. Get out, we have no room for you"...when i just heard them speaking english to the kids in there and it was 8oclock on a tuesday night..

I've had it with mexican people as well...where because I wasn't Mexican...i couldn't work there. They flat out said that..I even speak a bit of Spanish well enough to communicate with those who can't speak english.

even gay people have a bug up their butts half of the time it seems towards straight people..

I Don't see why straight people can't have a pride flag, I don't see why white people cannot have pride clubs...and I don't see why were not like every one else. Were just from European decent rather than African or Asian , or Hispanic... ..or..our sexuality apparently isn't as cool.

Honestly i think at the moment white people arn't at the bottem...middle easterners really have a bad rep right now....just because some stupid extremists ....
BUT! isn't that the case always? Stupid extremists southerners paint the picture of a hillbilly redneck that is a bible thumper? Extreme gay guys paint the picture that all gay guys are flamboient and snotty? Extreme ghetto black guys, make suberia house wives afraid of all black people?

Extreme mean Nazi biker dudes make every one afraid of a biker?lol

I think the bottom line is

"Every one is a little bit racist some times.."- Avenue Q

and we need to realize that..were not always going to love and hug each other. There will never ever be world peace and bad people will always excist.

The best we can hope for is to constantly strive to treat people like we would want to be treated...and hope some how that makes the world a better place.

but yes, racism still exists. and ..sorry i got on my soap box but, thats something really close to me..and It annoys me to no end when people don't realize its still very much apart of life for some people and the white person....has really ended up at the bottom of the totem pole for no good reason. Every one in every race has been horrible to some one.

it is a thing that will stay in our world no mater how you cut the cake you will still have a rotten peace and that rotten peace for us is people who think there better than others.

the problem will stay because of pride and stupidly

This is why people should wear plastic bags over every visible thing that might distinguish them based on race. For example, people can tell by looking at their nose, so cover that up(and their mouth), let them die, and move on to the next one. Racism ended.

There will always be racism. It has now started to move on from African Americans, to the Middle Eastern races. Anyone that looks like a possible terrorist is now under suspicion no matter what they do or did in the past.(and of course many people are still racist to African Americans)

Then of course there is the illegal immigration issue that everyone is tired of, so anyone speaking Spanish is automatically assumed to be a Mexican who jumped the border.

And one of my favorite subjects, affirmative action: making it legal to give out scholarships and assistance to the Latino and AA groups, but making a scholarship for only caucasians racist.

sorry if some of my phrasing was terrible

Yeah, there definitely still is racism. I moved to PA from NJ almost two years ago and I've only made two friends. People won't talk to me because I'm half hispanic, because I'm from NJ, because I'm Catholic. God forbid I was a little different than them! People around here have the confederate flag on their cars, in their houses, and on their myspaces. PA was above the Mason-Dixon line! It's ******** ridiculous, excuse my language, I hate it here.

Racism still does exsist, perhaps not as widespread as it was before. People generally do happen to blame a whole nation if only one person of that origin does something wrong. That happens often. I think people that aren't racist are those who regularly meet those of ethnic nationalities. People who are shut off from the rest of the world generally make assumptions that aren't true. But I must say the world has definately improved.

No matter how people diminish racism, it is still there and it'll be there for as long as life goes on.

Racism is completely ridiculous.
Why would you judge someone on the color of their skin?
But I do admit, sometimes it's hard not to.
In my school, there are a bunch of black people, and they act like walking stereotypes!
Not all of them, but most of them.
It's just plain sad.

And I really dont understand how its fair that if a white person calls a black person the "N" word, it's called racist
But a black person can call a white person WHATEVER THEY WANT, but its NEVER considered racist.

Everything now with black people and white people seems like some grudge from what happened so long ago.
It didnt even happen to our generation!
Go ahead and learn all about your history, but GET OVER IT!
It wasnt even you! And it wasnt OUR fault!

(No offence to anyone)
