Averus Ikaru

Averus watched with interest as the man had ran a hand through his white hair, watching him carefully as he was sure that he had spotted something about the man, but shook his head. He needed more information before he could just assume anything yet, and move more toward him as he saw a thief attempt to grab the bag the young man had over his shoulder...only to fail in the actual attempt. Averus moved along some of the crowd as a guard shouted at the thief and the young man, watching to see what just was going to happen. He winced a little as the young man was able to dodge the headbutt, and counter with a swift kick right to his lower region. Outside of the chosen area of weakness the young man chose to attack, Averus still had no real idea what the man was doing here, but the bag was now something of interest to him.

Getting spotted again, Averus did his best to blend back into the crowd, moving slowly as if gazing at some merchandise that was on another table, but kept his eye still on the young man as they began to weave through the crowds as well. Unsure if he was now being targetted for watching, Averus moved slowly into a group of people as the young man moved as well into a side alley. Averus pushed his way slowly through the crowd, the pain of his eye returning now as he lost sight of the man. He gritted his teeth as the pain increased, unsure still as to the why of it doing that. He looked around a little to make sure he didn’t lose him amongst the crowd or shops nearby, taking a quick peek between groups, or even under some of the tables to make sure the strange white haired man was not hiding somewhere close to watch him. Moving rather carefully, he went toward the entrance of alley, and saw no one down it. He frowned as he stood just on the corner of building that was next to its entrance, scanning the various boxes and trash cans that went down along the walls of the outside of the buildings that was the alley, along the stone path that went toward another street in the Village.

Averus started to wonder just where the man had went to, and thought perhaps he had bolted once he had broken the line of sight that Averus had on the young man. He gritted his teeth, unsure on just what to do now. If he walked into the alley, he knew one of two things were sure to happen. If it was a trap, then he could be walking straight into it, only slightly unaware. Whatever that trap was, he took in the facts that the young man had only mere minutes to set it up, so a lethal one would be rather unlikely. The other thought that went with that is if the young man had set something up prior to entering the market, like a sort of escape route. If so, the lethal part might not be so far fetched.

The other choice was that the young man had indeed bolted, running off down the street while Averus was distracted in trying to find him. He sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he had a decision to make now; Walk down the alley into whatever might be waiting for him, or take another route. Heading up to the rooftops might be the better choice, as it would give him the advantage he would need to see if there was indeed a trap there, he might be able to spot it. That would take time, and if the young man had indeed set up a trap or was waiting for him, he might escape with the time he would need to get up to the right place to see the Alley. Gritting his teeth again, Averus did some quick signs, setting up a sort of electric field tied to his chakra. It wasn’t strong, and was more of an early warning system to let him know if anything was off about what was ahead of him. Taking a breath, he slowly began to walk down the alley to see what might be waiting for him.

Takera's attention was drawn towards the end of the alley he entered from. Opening his eyes, he spotted a figure standing still in the opening to the alley. It seemed as if they were hesitating to enter. Takera knew this had to be the individual from the market. He could make out the black coat and hood from that distance. Takera was becoming increasingly perplexed by the mysteries surrounding the individual. What does he want with me? Takera thought to himself. The figure began to make a move, making quick hand signs. It seemed as if the individual had cast some kind of jutsu, but the effects weren't yet visible. Takera watched as he drew closer and closer. A cold thought seeped into the back of Takera's mind moments before the individual was directly below him. Is he one of those responsible for the tragedy..? Takera thought to himself as his expression began to darken intensely. I need to see for myself.. Takera thought to himself as he evaluated the situation at hand.

Takera's eyes transformed into the Sharingan with the black tomoe patterns once again. The red so vibrant that if you stared at it in darkness, it would seemingly pierce through clear as day. Just as the individual was directly below Takera, he let go of the ledge and began falling forward below, but after descending only a few inches, he felt something strange. His hair began to spike up with static. His determination and haste to land this strike began that much more imperative. As he fell, he reached out for a lower ledge on the opposite side of the alley where he grabbed on only long enough to re-position himself and kick off the wall. He landed cleanly with almost no noise behind the figure before reaching for and attempting to grab onto the black hood from behind. His eyes were focused upon the figure, but his ears remained open to the surrounding sounds.

Averus Ikaru

Averus walked slowly into the Alley, checking around him and being careful with every step. For the most part, everything seemed rather normal, as it did when he had first looked down it. It was after a few more steps that he felt a small shock crawl up his back. His eyes went wide, his heart starting to thump a little faster as he had made a mistake. He had been checking the street itself, but failed to think about looking up. His jutsu was now giving him a second warning as it went off once more, a shock now crawling along the back of his neck, feeling the hair stick up now from the prickling. He quickly turned on his heel, a hand moving fast to slap away the potential attack. Now the two were face to face, and Takera could see Averus’s face. His gray-ash skin and different matched eyes, one red and one green.

It was also when Averus could see the young man’s face, and saw the sharingan in his eyes. Truthfully, he had no real idea what those eyes were, but he quickly assumed it was some kind of bloodline technique. In response to seeing it, four spots of black appeared around his red eye, encircling around the iris till his whole eye was black with the red pupil. Gritting his teeth, Averus had little in choice for a response to this trap. He had seconds to decide, and used them quickly as he pushed the young man away from him.

He then backed up as quickly as he could, keeping his eyes on the young man, his hands to his sides near the pockets. He made no move, simply watching just what Takera was planning to do now, unsure if he should attack. Attacking meant a battle, a battle which would make some noise and attract local shinobi over to investigate, which could mean a few bad things. He adjusted his position slightly, and Takera would be able to see the Cloud headband that was wrapped around Averus’s arm.

Takera's arm out stretched for the back of the figures hood, but he was met with a surprised. The figure was alerted, as Takera feared might happen upon descent into the ally. He whipped around in a panicked frenzy and slapped Takera's hand away before re-positioning himself to show off the steel plated ninja headband on his arm. A slight gleam from the plate caught Takera's attention, but before he could actually focus on the object, his eyes became fixated on the individuals face. His skin was an ashen grey, and his eye was transforming similarly to a rare dojutsu (eye jutsu).

Takera was startled by the transformation believing that he was a mere moment from being assaulted. Time seemed to slow down for Takera as his tomoe pattern began to spin. His eyes were going into full effect. Twinges of chakra fueled static were igniting in the air around them. Takera's left arm that had been knocked back jolted back towards the hooded individual's upper arm. It was a feint, as the hand smacked his shoulder with only enough force to draw his cognitive senses toward his left side, exposing his right.

Takera drew back his right arm and slung it forward, turning and slinging his upper body with it to put all of his force into the punch aimed straight for the exposed side of the ashen skinned individual's face. Come on! Make it! Takera gritted his teeth as his inner voice prayed for success. Just then something seemed familiar seemed to spark up behind the hooded figure. Takera's eyes widened ever so as he hesitated at the glimmer. A small portion of the force behind his punch was lost in his moment of weakness.

Averus Ikaru

Averus waited the mere seconds that happened between the two, only to grit his teeth as Takera made his first move. He took the bait in his hesitation, moving his hands to block the first attack, moving slightly as the first slap to his shoulder happened. He moved his attention toward that side, trying to see what kind of attack it was. When everything felt normal, he turned his attention back toward Takera as the young man was now aiming a punch straight toward his face. Averus gritted his teeth at the fact that he had allowed himself to be caught off guard by the first attack, and now had left him wide open for the second attack. He moved his hands a bit forward to try and catch it, but at the speed he was moving he knew it was too little too late.

Right before the attack would land, he spotted the hesitation that Takera had in his eyes, watching as he could see the hesitation begin to waver his resolve into the attack. It mattered little as it landed, making Averus flinch back and catch himself on his feet, repositioning. The punch was hard, but clearly it had lost some of its major force thanks to the hesitation that had happened to Takera. Taking his chance now, Averus charged his hand with his chakra, sparks going around his palm as he quickly shoved forward with the motion of his feet being planted forward, aiming his counter right at Takera’s chest.

All the while Averus was unaware of whatever Takera had seen behind him, being too focused on just what was going on in their small battle in the alley. Whatever was going on, the mere seconds during his attack, Averus did not realize it but the pain and throbbing he was feeling in his eye had faded as he watched the young man in front of him, but it mattered not for in his head, he might be fighting some kind of thug for a local gang, or even a spy from an enemy nation. With that in mind, Averus charged forward with his open palm attack, hoping that if his attack landed, he might stun the man to capture him.

Takera became lost in the moment mistakenly. He had been so invested into the attack that his body's momentum had gone forward with the punch. His blow connected, but only seemed to just barely move the ashen skinned shinobi, who then immediately used that momentum to change his position and prepare a counter strike. Takera glanced past his foe, but the gleaming familiar light was no where to be scene. Takera had become so invested in searching for it that he failed to measure up his opponent's reaction at all and was only able to catch the swift movement coming towards him.

The ashen skinned shinobi's hand took the form of an open palm strike that emitted a mixture of plain chakra and strands of electricity charging around it. Takera tried to react by moving back, but it was entirely too late. The palm landed square in the center of his chest. The wind was knocked from his lungs and immediately he felt a sharp jolt rush through his body from the point of impact. He slid straight back an entire foot, his head hung back, as he coughed into the air. He was still standing in the sliding posture. A few strands of electricity crackled from the point of impact. Takera's vision had blurred for a moment as he was now looking straight into the sky from the closed ally.

His hands balled into fists and his shoulders began to flex while quivering so slightly. At that very moment his hands unballed and he fell straight back to the ground with a palpable 'thud' like sound. Takera laid still, his eyes now shut. He felt hazy as if he were drifting from conciousness.

The Inner World

Takera's vision came to focus as he leaned up. Taking a quick glance around, he found that the very area he was in was nothing like before and the ashen skin individual was no where to be found. He was now sitting straight up in what seemed to be ankle shallow water. The area was brightly lit. The walls and sealing were unidentifiable as it all meshed into what looked like an endless expanse of shallow water. Takera stood up slowly trying to listen for some kind clue. ..Is this.. a genjutsu? he thought to himself, but it wasn't adding up. He was neither suffering any kind of damage or finding himself in any form of interaction with any living thing.

Just then a stream of blue-ish gleaming essence was caught from the corner of his eye. He slung his head and upper body trying to catch sight of the presence, but it was already gone. He heard another something almost like an quiet echo in the distance behind him of the same shimmering essence he had heard and seen prior. He turned to the right, then to the left, and even further beyond to points behind him. Frantically his eyes scanned the surrounding area jumping from spot to spot, but he couldn't find anything. Takera stopped himself. He was still erratic and frantic from being struck up to this point. He took a deep breath and calmed himself. He opened his eyes once more, but still nothing resided before him.

It was precisely at this moment that he felt a warm hand on his right shoulder. He leaned toward the shoulder attempting to see what resided behind him, but just as he did, the form pushed him forward with a strong thrust causing him to stumble. "What's wrong, Takera? Are you slipping up already so soon?" the voice called out from behind him.

The Outside World

A chill ran down Takera's spine as his eyes shot wide open and he gasped deeply for air. He buckled his lower body up and over his upper body causing him to roll back into a kneeling position facing the ashen skin individual. He drew back as his hands formed a couple of quick seals. "Howling Air Blast!" the words echo'd lightly through the ally as his cheeks and chest expanded and all together expelled a sudden bubble of compacted air. The bubble of air burst forth with concentration slamming into the ashen skinned shinobi like a wall of force and propelling him all the way to the other side of the ally. The wind itself burst and scattered about violently kicking up the dirt and startling a large number of people who were caught up in the cloud of dust that burst forth. Those around were steadily becoming aware of the commotion like dominos triggering a chain reaction. Takera braced himself on his end of the ally way as he prepared to take in whatever was thrown his way.

Averus Ikaru

Averus watched as his blow connected to Takera, his chakra shocking him as his palm slammed into his chest. He felt the shock of his jutsu run its course into the young man, then stepped back as he kept his stance just in case the man would attempt to counter attack afterwards. It came to a sort of surprise when the young man then collapsed backwards after looking like he might do something, hitting the ground hard as he laid there in the alley. Averus sighed with a bit of relief, but kept his eyes on the young man as he stood over him. He took the moment to see if there was any sort of marking or perhaps a headband to see just where this strange young man came from, about to kneel down and examine the bag he had with him.

It was then he felt another shock crawl along his skin as Takera’s eyes shot wide open, cursing himself for getting so close into the range of an attack. He took a quick step back away as the young man rolled back, watching his hands form the seals for his next attack. Hearing the technique, Averus rose his hands up to try and block the attack, only to get slammed hard by a wall of powerful wind, making him gasp as he was thrown clear down the whole alleyway. He coughed as he landed on his back, quickly rolling onto his side and taking a quick moment to catch his breath. He had to breath carefully, now that dirt and dust had been kicked up all around them. Standing up, Averus could hear the commotion back in the market as people were starting to get aware of what was happening.

Gritting his teeth, Averus looked back down the alley to spot the young man standing at the ready, cleary preparing himself for another assault. Averus knew that the last attack was going to attract the attention of the local shinobi, meaning that now he had only a small amount of time left to try and take this stranger down before he causes more of a ruckus. Taking in the new position he was in, he figured a long range attack would work, but with the distance between the two, as well as the civilians just beyond Takera’s entrance to the alley, the likely scenario of him dodging as his attack hitting the crowd was very possible. Deciding to run back toward Takera, he made several quick signs, his chakra flowing as sparks of lightning connected around his fingers, forming a small ball. He then lobbed it upwards toward Takera, and once it was close enough, it burst into a quick flash of light and sparks. Causing a commotion was no longer an issue thanks to the young man creating a large dirt cloud with his last attack. Hoping the distraction attack would work, Averus launched himself into the air to attempt to land a kick onto the young man’s shoulder, trying to bring him to the ground and pin his arm to keep him from using more of his jutsu’s.

Takera could hear the commotion from the crowds both on his side as well as down the other end of the ally. It wouldn't be long before they attracted some unwanted attention from the local guard. A form began to rise in the thicket of dust and take action. Takera was unable to tell just what was happening on the other end, but he could feel the hairs on his arm tingle once more. Something is coming! Takera thought to himself. At that very moment a ball of shining electrical light came flying out of the cloud of dust before him. He attempted to shift his body and avoid the shot, his eyes locked on the orb, when suddenly it burst amidst his transition with a sharp brightness. He stumbled back a few steps holding his eyes.

Takera was effectively blind in the moment, but his hearing was still in tact. A clear sound was coming from above him. A heavy article of clothing jostling about in the air. "Above me?" Takera spoke. His only choice was to feel out the attack. Takera's body loosened up as he took a lazy step back. A second later, he felt the hard embrace of his opponent's foot making contact with his shoulder. He fell back in the direction of the force. Some of the impact from the blow was lost, and the momentum had now swung in Takera's favor as they both came down. The man landed directly in front of Takera, as Takera crashed back to the ground. His lower body curling up into the air. Takera's arms bent back as his hands pushed flat off the ground behind his head.

As Takera had been falling back, he attempted to open his eyes, only able to reach a point of wincing, he could make out the ashen skinned figure clad in black before him. It seemed as if his opponent were trying to make physical contact as the blurred arm reached out towards Takera. Completely coiled into the momentum of the attack, Takera launched his lower body up and out, planting both feet right into the hooded figures chest, the center of his mass. He had no alternative, but to take the least risk. His priority had to shift in the moment he became temporarily blind. His focus now was buying enough time to recooperate, and what simpler way than to use astonishing force to mimic something crippling his foe applied to him what felt like an eternity ago, but was actually only moments earlier.

Feeling the impact, Takera dropped flat to the ground with a thud before scrambling to roll over. He placed a hand upon the wall as he lifted himself up. His other hand was rubbing his eyes repeatedly as he tried to stimulate a faster recovery. He began to walk steadily across the wall to make distance between himself and the ashen skinned opponent. It was then that he bumped into something unexpected. He had already been near the end of ally before trying to create distance and placed himself right at the edge unintentionally. The figure he bumped into didn't speak at all. Takera strained to open his eyes and see the figure. He could barely make out what vaguely resembled a guard before he felt a sharp pain across the back of his neck. Takera barreled over, passed out on the ground. The guards had spotted him escaping the ally at the center of all the commotion, and delivered a swift blow to the back of Takera's head to cease any chance of resistance. One guard hoisted Takera over his shoulder before another came into the ally looking around for anyone or thing else. There the guard grabbed hold of Takera's bag before noticing the ashen skinned individual laying on the ground a few feet away.

Averus Ikaru

Averus landed after the kick landed, the young man being able to use the motion to fall back away from him. He then felt the full force of Takera’s counter attack as he got pushed back, stumbling away as he fell backwards onto the ground. He groaned as his back slammed into the stone ground, but knew he had no time to just be laying around. Quickly pulling his legs back, he threw his weight forward, arching his back as he quickly got back on his feet. It was then that he stopped, as he felt a sharp, cold metal object tapping his shoulder. Staying still, he only turned his head slightly to see a guard standing behind him with a kunai poised right where his left shoulder was. He realized that the commotion between the two of them must have alerted the local shinobi, and they had come after the two with the intent of believing it must have been an enemy of some kind. Averus turned his head back to the entrance and saw two more guards were there now, with one now holding the stranger he had been fighting over his shoulder, Averus thinking that when the guards showed Takera must have tried to run only ran straight into one of the guards. He then heard a whistle from above him, and sitting in a crouched position was his former master, Shyn.

Shyn dropped down in front of Averus, smiling a little, though in his eyes was clearly disappointment. “Oh Averus, you clearly need more training if you are randomly attacking your fellow shinobi.” Averus was about to ask what he meant by that before Shyn poked him on his forehead. A stun look went across his face as he felt his master’s chakra invade his mind, before his eye slowly went back to the normal white and red as before. He then felt his consciousness slip away from the grasp of his mind, and fell forward, Shyn catching him on his arm and hoisting him onto his shoulder. “Right, let’s take these two to the office, and I’ll explain the punishment they will be getting for fighting in the Village” Shyn explained to the other guards, who nodded before jumping up onto the roofs and heading back to their patrols, while Shyn and the other guard holding onto Takera left for the local shinobi office.

Several minutes passed as the two were hauled off with Shyn and the guards, and once they were inside the small building, the two young men were placed in a room large enough for several people, a single stone bench at one end of the room, a door on the other, and a large glass window that one could not see through. It was clearly a holding room, or perhaps an interrogation room. The two were sat down on the bench, and Shyn had the guard leave for their patrol as he waited for the two to wake up. Averus slowly rolled his head with a groan, his hood having fallen back to show his whole head now, his black hair covering a little bit of his eyes as he blinked them open. Seeing the room he was in, he shot awake, looking around as Shyn smirked at him.

“Barely a day gone by that you graduate, you help me with a bit of trouble, and then you turn around and have a scuffle with a fellow comrade that makes a lot of the civilians very scared that some unknown enemy had snuck in and started blowing things up, though thankfully you two kept your jutsu to just a lot of smoke and light.” Averus didn’t bother denying it, though he was surprised to hear that the stranger he had been fighting with was a comrade. He turned his head toward him, then back to his former master. “Shyn, I apologize. At the time when I left you for the market, I had spotted him and his strange...clothing as well as his look made me think he might have been either another thief, or perhaps another rogue who was in the market to do something outside of the normal shopping. But, if he is my comrade, then why is he not wearing his headband? Things might have gone a bit smoother if he had just told me…”

“Takera here is a...special case. As for the reason he did not have his headband on his also his choice, though I do agree it would make things easier for anyone to not make that mistake. However, that does not excuse the fighting you two did, and I do not care which one of you started it. Now, as for the punishment…” Shyn began to pace around the room in thought, rubbing his chin as he did so. Averus lowered his head, unsure on the kind of punishment that would be in store for the both of them. Several thoughts raced across his mind in what his former master could be thinking of. The most likely could be being expelled from being a shinobi for causing a panic near the market place, though he was unsure if that would be the case. The other possibility would probably be some kind of community service that would more than likely involve the shopkeepers of the market, probably some kind of clean up or picking things up and putting them down kind of work.

Shyn then clicked his fingers together that showed he had come up with the right punishment. Averus braced himself for whatever it might be, accepting the concequences for his actions. He didn’t bother looking over at Takera, unsure of what the young man he had just learned the name of was thinking about all this, but thought it was probably something along the same lines as his own thinking. Shyn then turned to the two with his hands on his hips, a smile on his lips. “The most proper punishment for you two that I can think of, for causing a panic in the market, kicking dirt and dust all over the buildings, and throwing jutsu around in your fighting...I believe the best thing to do is to make you two into a team” Shyn said as he looked at their reactions now with a small chuckle.

Averus was stunned to even hear that, as it was something he was clearly not expecting to hear. To be teamed up after everything, he now turned his head to Takera with a confused look before looking back to his former master.

The Inner World

Takera leans up as he reaches to the back side of his neck. He had felt something like a crick in his neck from the position he had been in. Takera grunted as he stood up and slowly opened his eyes. He blinked for a second in disbelief. "..I was just fighting in the market, wasn't I?" He was within the inner world of an infinite white stretching expanse; knee deep in water. Takera steadied himself as he took a glance around. "No. I was caught by a guard.. I think." His eye caught something to his left causing him to double take. There stood the hooded figure clad in black in the distance. Takera's eyes fixated upon the figure, but he couldn't see beyond the hood. The figure's face wasn't visible at all. The figure took a step forward atop the water causing it to ripple. Takera struggled back a step slowly wading through the water. Takera's reactions seemed to cause a hault in the hooded figures movement. "What's wrong, Takera?" the familiar warm voice of his brother Zeru rang out from the hooded figure in a goading tone.

Takera's eyes widened upon hearing the echoing voice. Takera changed direction immediately and began wading through the water towards the figure. Takera reached a hand out frantically, breathing heavily as he struggled. The figure said nothing else as he too put his hand out, turning his body slightly to extend the arm. Takera was only mere inches from clasping hands with the hooded figure when he was jolted awake.

The Outside World

Takera jolted awake, he struggled for only a moment to regain focus. He was in some kind of mostly empty room. There was a peculiar man standing in the door way across the room from him with his hand on the opened door as if to have only just entered. Takera noticed a hint of black clothing in his peripherals and turned quickly to lower right side to see the body of the hooded man. His eyes widened as they began to move up from the core of his body to his head. Takera's surprise was crushed as he witnessed the uncloaked head and facial appearance of the unconcious boy. He looked noticeably younger than Takera and his skin was a strange ashen grey like nothing he'd ever seen before. His hair was a messy spikey black color. Takera breathed a heavy sigh as he went to quickly glancing along the room to assess the situation. The man who had entered wasn't dressed as any guard might be, but he did carry a headband with the Hidden Cloud symbol embossed upon it's metal plate.

Takera noticed that along the left wall, there seemed to be some kind of fake glass that blended in. A fake mirror that would reflect light from their side, but allow anyone on the other side to see and observe them. They were in some form of interrogation room it seemed. With a light 'click' the door had shut closed behind the man. Takera fixated his eyes on the man as he drew closer to the two of them. "You're a very peculiar case, aren't you Mr. Takera?" the man said in an inquisitive manner. Takera narrowed his eyes. "What would you even know about someone like me? Who even are you?" Takera hastily responded back. The man gave a light chuckle. "I know quite a lot actually. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to let you know a few things. My name is Shyn. I have a rather wide standing position within this village. The man beside you is one of my more promising students--Averus, and yet.. he doesn't seem to invested in his overall development. He's shown more investment and vigor in his scuffle with you than I've seen in some time." Shyn said, then pausing briefly to collect his thoughts. "He is also a peculiar case in his own right, though nothing quite like yourself, Mr. Takera." Shyn stated slyly before turning and bending in close to Takera. He eyed up Takera with a curious smile for only a moment. Takera leaned back trying to create any distance he could, concerned for what this 'Shyn' was looking for.

Shyn leaned back and pulled free a small notebook from a hidden pouch. He quickly flipped a few pages in and his eyes began to glide back and forth as if to be reading the contents of the page line by line. Takera arched a brow. He considered what he might say, but nothing had come to mind, so he simply remained quiet in anticipation of what this character might have to say. It wasn't but a moment before Shyn closed the notebook and put it away. "You're an awfully strange one. You exhibit talents that some might believe go beyond the beginner stages of a Chuunin, and yet you're seemingly unstable -- hostile even." Shyn posed a rhetorical statement. "Your chakra seems to be exhibiting.. an abnormal phenomenon.." Shyn trailed off. Shyn's words fostered a curiosity and deeper interest in Takera although he wasn't quite sure where he was going with the conversation.

Just then, there was light movement beside him. Takera turned to see the ashen skinned boy, Averus, waking up. Shyn immediately turned his attention on the boy, moving to stand directly in front of him. The boy had jolted awake frantically scanning the room as Shyn chuckled. Takera had subconciously become invested in the thought of hearing Averus's voice. He turned on the bench to place both of them within his immediate view and his back to the corner of the room. Shyn began to scold Averus although Takera could tell that it was clearly aimed at himself as well due to his own involvement. Averus had glanced over towards Takera for a moment. Takera was focused upon Averus, their eyes locking. Takera was certain he would say something, but Averus turned back to face Shyn. It was then that the boy spoke. He apologized to Shyn and began to plead his case in the situation. For only a speck Takera's hopes flew high, but as soon as he could discern Averus's voice, they came crashing back down. It was nothing like his brother's. Takera began to wonder if instead his brother had been trying to tell him something about this peculiar boy. At that moment Takera heard the boy taking a stab at Takera's 'strange clothing'. Takera eyed up the boys 'clad in black' outfit with the hood draping off the back of his coat's collar. Takera narrowed his eyes and shook his head lightly. Who's he to question my appearance..? Takera thought to himself.

It was then that the boy mentioned Takera's lack of a headband. It hit Takera like a sack of bricks as he looked around. His bag was nowhere to be seen. Takera became mildly annoyed, his brow furrowing. He was almost certain that when Shyn responded with 'Takera here is a.. special case' that he was in fact taking a stab himself. ...Is he calling me stupid? Takera thought. It wasn't until the words 'Now, as for the punishment...' crossed Shyn's lips that Takera's attention was refocused to the man. Shyn jested that he need give some thought to what they must endure before announcing that the two would serve together on a team. Takera's held tilted back some at the recognition of the man's judgment. His eyes widened some. "..Hunh?" Takera exclaimed in mild surprise. He turned to look at Averus at the same time as Averus had turned to look at him, their eyes meeting again. The boy had an expression of confusion while Takera merely arched his brow with slight disbelief.

Takera turned back to Shyn with the intention of speaking, but was suddenly cut off. "Normally a team would be comprised of a three man cell, but at the moment we're a little short on up and comming help, so you'll only operate as a pair for the time being. Rest assured that we are infact working on it. If it's any consolation, the two of you show stronger potential than any genin in the last two generations of classes." Shyn explained. Takera rubbed the back of his head before standing straight up and stretching. Shyn's hand twitched as he watch Takera, but relaxed as Takera's arms fell to his sides. Takera let out a yawn before he turned to Shyn. "Where's my bag?" Takera spoke with a serious tone as his eyes locked up with Shyn's.

Averus Ikaru

“So, you are putting us together in a two man team...as punishment…” Averus looked over to Takera as they asked about the bag. Shyn chuckled, looking over to Averus first before he would answer Takera. “This is the best punishment I can think of. You two sparred rather well against each other, and though I hope their is no bad blood now that you are done fighting, I believe this is the best way to deal with your foolishness. You two will learn to work and trust each other, a good lesson to have as comrades are a source of strength for all. Now then, as for you bag, Takera. Once we are done here, you will find it on the desk just outside the door. And before you ask, we did not open it. Now then, I’ll go inform the others that you two can leave whenever you want. Once you two are settled and ready to leave, just knock on the door.” Shyn then turned on his heel, opening the door enough to let himself out. The sounds of type writing and other speaking in hushed tones could be heard for but a moment before the door clicked as it closed, silence being all that is left. Averus let out a sigh, staying silent and saying nothing to Takera for the moment as he sat in thought.

He had not expected to be in a team, or at least not for a good long while. The expectation of being in a team was actually rather low on the list of things to happen after graduation. Averus stood up to stretch his legs, slowly walking the walls of the room and stopping in front of the mirror and stared at it as if he was looking right at someone, even though it was clear he could not actually see anyone behind the one-way mirror. Averus then turned around to look to see what Takera was doing at the moment, before speaking.

“Well...guess we are stuck as a team now. Let’s get the easy part set aside first. My name is Averus Ikaru. I’ve heard your name now, though it’s only fair that introductions are done anyway. So...I have a question for you, or two anyway. Firstly, why are you so keen on that bag of yours anyway? Secondly, why were you not wearing your headband. If you had been wearing it, or at least noticed mine on my arm, we wouldn’t have scared half the market district with our fighting.” Averus asked as he looked back at the mirror, then moved his gloved hands back and took his hood up from his back and put it over his head, feeling only slightly better with it back on, as he felt more comfortable with it on. The staring at his ash skin from earlier made him wish he had put it back on after he had woken up.

Step by step he traversed down the staircase and passed by the lockers of the Academy before he stepped out of the doors, looking out at what lie before him. It was not very much to him, but it was his home and he was a proud genin to the Ishikawa family. At least that is what he kept telling himself as he begrudgingly crossed the threshold of his past and started off into new, uncharted territory. Shun stepped along the mountainside, wondering where he should go; he was already rather familiar with the village, but there were a few places he never bothered to venture. Should I go there this time…?

The young Ishikawa eventually found himself at the entrance of the Hidden Cloud Village where one of the guards walked over to Shun, looking down at him. ”Aren’t you Kiyoshi’s boy? What are you… oh, hey!” The guard beamed just slightly, seeing the headband that Shun had hung on his shoulder; Shun made a mental note that he would ask Yukiko to see if she could fix it onto his coat. ”Well, congratulations on finally graduating… how long have you been trying to graduate now? Six years?”

Shun shrugged his shoulders at the guard, slipping both of his hands into the pockets of his coat. ”Thanks… It just seemed too troublesome to try, but I guess graduating feels good. I am not very sure what to do… Kiyoshi is having me get to know the village a little better.” The guard chuckled heartily, placing a single hand on the child’s head and sighed. “You sure are an odd one, but I know you will do great…”

He leaned down slowly to his ear and whispered. “... I mean you did sneak into a few interrogations… maybe you can work yourself into being part of ANBU one day just like your pops was!”

Shun rose his eyebrow a little, not entirely sure what ‘ANBU’ was and he made a note to ask his father about it later. “Maybe… we will see what happens.. Might be too much work for someone like me… anyway, I’ll see you around.” He started to walk away, lifting an arm up to wave to the guard who returned to his post while Shun resumed his wandering. Every step he took he worked toward immediately memorizing his surroundings and any other villagers he passed by, he took in all of the information he could muster about them. This was one of the main things that Kiyoshi had always told him - focus on details and remember everything you can since it can save your life one day.

A small smile crossed his lips, remembering the memory with such fondness; it was back when he first started to see what Shun excelled in, the two usually walking into a building and in the first minute he would drill his son about the various people in the building. It took several attempts to mold Shun, making him able to quickly assess the situation and accurately recall the information as plain as day.

As he continued walking, he did not come to the realization that Kiyoshi was now standing in front of him and walked right into him. Shun stumbled backward, falling onto his bum as he looked up to see Kiyoshi standing there with the biggest yet most sadistic grin he had seen on his face in a long time. “... no… no… NO…. NO… NO…” Kiyoshi just leaned down and grabbed Shun by the back of his collar, throwing up into the air and caught up over his shoulders. “You are soooo lucky, my boy! LET US GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

With much glee and excitement, Kiyoshi took off with Shun with such speed that it seemed to knock the wind out of the boy as he flailed around against his back. Quickly the male had slipped a mask over his face, leaping along the mountain sides and flipping through the air; he would toss Shun ahead of him, catching him as he sped along. It would not take much time before they arrived and the door to the interrogation room that held Takera and Averus flew open in a loud crash. Wisps of black smoke seemed to smoulder from the man’s clothing as he dropped Shun off of his shoulder onto the floor, turning his attention over to the two other ninja.

“A little bird told me you needed a third member for your team… here you go, he is a fresh graduate from the Academy!” His voice beamed with glee before he turned around without another word and disappeared just as fast as he appeared, slamming the door with a loud ‘BOOM!’ that seemed as if it would shake the very mountain itself.

Shun bolted up from his position, a hand gripped onto his chest as he looked around wondering what just happened to him. His eyes fixated and shifted from the two other ninja in the room with him, taking down their details. “... where am I?”

"This is the best punishment I can think of. Once you two are settled and ready to leave, just knock on the door." - Shyn

Takera kept his eyes trained upon Shyn the entire time before his concerns about the bag were finally addressed. He still felt mildly uneasy as lies and deception were, on average, a go to tool of the Ninja World. He peered away from the man as he spoke his final words and exited the room. It wasn't until Averus moved that Takera refocused his attention in that direction and grasped what Averus was doing. The two were now a short few strides from each other in the room as opposed to when they both were sitting side by side. Takera drew a deep breath and yawned as tears welled up on the edges of his eyes. He felt unusually tired and yet something seemed off within their current setting. The two of them, who up until now, had been like water and oil were now expected to be a team and settle with it.

Takera paid particular attention to the one way mirror that Averus was staring into a short distance away. In that moment Averus turned to face Takera. He remained lax in his demeanor, but his eyes remained fixated upon Averus's facial appearance. His ashen grey skin was both perplexing and fascinating to Takera. Takera had learned a lot in his recovery stages about the human anatomy and practical treatment which had drove his unusual appetite for knowledge to the next level. It seemed as though Averus wasn't looking to waste any time. He introduced himself to Takera before quickly pushing on to the matters that interested him most. Takera began to derive answers to the questions as soon as they were posed, but decided it was best if he remained silent until he was absolutely certain Averus had finished speaking.

"Hmmm..?" Takera uttered while determining how best to express himself. "My bag? You mean my personal possessions? If I recall correctly I was defending my possessions from a thief." Takera paused. "..Am I not allowed to protect my personal belongings?" Takera posed the question as he adjusted his stance to one a little more serious in nature. "As for my head band..? I haven't quite warmed up to the idea of wearing a target on my head. I don't live directly within the village and I don't have a particular attachment to this village. It is just easier to fade into the crowd and peacefully observe the going ons." Takera stated. In actuality he had been so disturbed by his mental troubles that he had not given any time or thought to his place within this new village. He would not dare speak of his complications openly though, especially in an interrogation room. There's no telling what might result if people began thinking he was loony.

Takera's vision dropped slowly for a moment as he briefly remembered the scene that had transpired before his reawakening in this setting. He let out a hefty sigh and eased up his demeanor. "Listen. I do not really care if the people got their feathers ruffled a little bit. We did not actually bring harm to anyone, did we? ..As far as I am concerned we scuffled and got put in our place for it. It is all a clean slate from here on out." Takera stated before lifting his gaze to meet Averus' eyes. He was reminded of the horrific tormenting result upon the snowy battlefield residing on the other side of the Lightning Country from them a long time ago. He hardened himself before continuing. "Listen. Our regard for one another is going to become more important and essential from this point on than it may have ever been for you in the past... I-.. I've been through some things. The kind of things that happen when you get too comfortable with the way everything is in a world as cruel and ruthless as this one. Let us try to keep the recklessness in short supply for the sake of us both, alright?" Takera's expression had developed into one of concern.

Takera watched as Averus turned away from him and pulled forth his hood back into place. He was not quite sure if Averus had really absorbed what he was saying, but the situation began to slip from the front of his mind in wake of his curiosity surrounding the physical attributes of Averus. He moved to cross his arms before opening his mouth to speak, but just then the door to his left side flung open with such a tremendous force that a gust of wind brushed over him causing his hair to lightly blow in the opposite direction. Startled, He swung his head to face the sudden intrusion, but he was so startled that he could not move the rest of his body. His eyes widened as they locked onto the full figured individual now standing in the door way. Before Takera could even grasp what the man was trying to impose for their team, he just dropped the other figure in his hands like a sack of potatoes -- thud on the floor. The man said his sudden goodbyes and slammed the door equally hard on the way out. Takera almost thought for a second that he felt the ground shudder upon the door slamming shut. His ears rang lightly from the sharp sudden and excessive noise. Takera shook his head as he tried to grasp their present circumstances. The lump of person that inhabited the space of floor between Takera and Averus had now uncurled itself and posed a question that only carved even deeper questions into Takera's brain.

"Where am I?"

Takera shrugged his shoulders before glancing back up to Averus and then back down to the kid. He appeared to be even younger than Averus. "...Welcome aboard?" Takera said arching his brow steeply.

Averus Ikaru

Averus looked at Takera as he spoke, waiting in between the moments it looked like he was stuck in thought to answer back. “Very well, I only ask because you seemed very protective of it. I can understand not being particularly a target for anyone, but from what I have learned the headband is much a deterrent than a target. It let’s others know who and what you are, a sort of badge of office if I might say. Well, I guess I shouldn’t really speak too much, as I put mine on my arm then my head.” Averus turned a little to walk, wanting to do something as Takera spoke. He nodded his head in agreement to what he said.

“There are some things I can agree with in that regard, I assure you.” Averus turned to nod to Takera to answer his last question. As much as Takera was interested in Averus and his appearance, he was interested to know more about his new comrade. He crossed his arms as well in a sort of response to Takera doing the same, leaning back against the wall to rest a little before jumping in alert as the door was kicked in. Averus looked at the man, then the boy that was dropped down onto the floor as the masked man then announced this was their third member to their group. Averus had a look of confusion, and just before the door was slammed shut, one could see Shyn walking past to see them and his face. He laughed and shook his head before walking on.

Averus then rubbed the back of his head under his hood, looking at the boy that now asked the question of where he was. Averus sighed, as things seemed to be thrown right at them now, as if life was forcing each of them to start working together as soon as possible.

“Well...you are at a shinobi office, more specifically the interrogation room.” Averus walked toward him and offered a gloved hand for him to take so that he could stand up properly. “Welcome to the group, it would seem. My name is Averus Ikaru, what is yours?” Averus asked the young man, and noted how young he seemed compared to himself. Shun could then see under Averus’s hood that he had two different colored eyes. One was red, while the other was green. But his most notable feature was that his skin was an ashen-grey color, and that he was just a bit older than he was.

Shun just sat there for a moment, sort of processing what exactly happened; he was still aware of the on goings between the other two, Takera and Averus, but he was now starting to see the implications of what his father had done. This means.. I have to actually do something… The male sighed as he just sort of nodded over to the the other white haired boy, noting they seemed a bit similar in terms of their physical appearance. He shrugged the idea off in his head that they could be related in some way, but figured that there were other people that held similar physical traits that they both shared.

He laughed to himself thinking that possibly if he had only walked away from that guard earlier than he would have been able to secure a place to laze around instead of be in the situation he was in now. It was one thing that he was a fresh graduate, but now he was on a team… all in less than a day. Things seemed to be moving too fast, at least too fast for him since he would have preferred to have taken it much slower and easier… maybe sleep for a day or two first. He began to wonder how the three of them would get along especially since they all seemed to be fundamentally different in age except Averus seemed closer in age to him than Takera did.

Almost immediately his attention snapped back to reality when Averus started to speak with him, looking over to the other male and gladly took his hand into his own to pull himself up. Both eyes immediately noticed the different colored eyes, the red one was the one that most intrigued him. Part of him wanted to ask about it, but decided against it; Kiyoshi taught him about several of the more notable clans from various other villages, so he figured it was from one of them. The ashen skin was the next piece that stood out to him, but he only smiled when he got a better look at it. It was something new compared to the people of the Lightning Country; he figured that the three of them were the most different compared to anyone else in their village.

He nodded a few times, acknowledging what he was being told while dusting off his coat and pants. Shun looked around the room a little more, getting a feel for where he was located and chuckled a little. This was the same room he was occasionally snuck into when Kiyoshi was doing an interrogation and wanted him to sit in on them. He knew of a few other rooms along with the one a more ‘delicate’ hand was used to extract information from unwilling prisoners.

“Erm.. thank you, Averus.” He blinked a few times when the male introduced himself. Shun gave a slight bow to the both of them. “Shun Ishikawa… that was my father, well adoptive father… who brought me here… I am sorry for any inconvenience this caused...” He spoke rather softly, but projected his voice loud enough so that the both of them could hear him without any issues.

It was only a moment later that Shun felt something inside of him and instinctively he turned his gaze to the door for just a moment. When nothing happened he let out a sigh of relief, looking over to the other two. “So… what n--?” He started to ask as the door flew open once more and in flew Kiyoshi, smacking into Shun and sent him flying into the adjacent wall. “Gah!” Shun was flung against the wall, then fell back to the ground once more and seemed to be out cold.

Kiyoshi just looked over to the other two, black smoke rising from his body yet again as he turned his head over to Takera and Averus. “Oh, I forgot to mention… he’s an extremely lazy child, so you might have to drag him along sometimes… but he would never disappoint me or his mother… you can trust him.” Neither of them could tell or see any expression on his face from behind his mask, but his tone was both polite and serious in nature. You could tell that he truly cared about Shun’s well-being. Kiyoshi stepped over to Shun and shook him awake, setting him back onto his feet once the boy awakened. The masked man immediately spun toward the door and he turned to the others, waving as he took off again in a blink of an eye with the door slamming closed behind him again.

Shun just stood there both speechless and slightly afraid, making a mental note to stop standing anywhere near doors ever again for fear that Kiyoshi would bombard through them and he would end up paying the price.
