The leopard stopped biting her and let go, licking the wounds apologetically and mewling softly. Moni petted him and shook his head at her question. He'd have to learn each and every language...

"Then, do you think he would mind if I gave him a nickname? It'd be neat to be able to talk to him directly like we do with the farm animals." She hugged the leopard gently when he finished licking her. "It's okay, sweetie. It doesn't hurt too much."

Moni nodded, indicating that she could give him a nickname and going into the house to find Fryma, smiling when he found him and gave his lover a hug.

"I'm going to call you Sweetie, then," Maria announced loud enough to be heard through the open window. Kori chuckled while Fryma hugged Moni. "She's really taken to the cub. I wonder how he'll react to his new nickname," the fire spirit mused.

Moni smiled and pulled them outside, looking excited and saw them playing, the leopard making sure not to bit her again or claw at her deeply.

Fryma chuckled as he watched. "It seems," he informed Kori, "that he took quite well to his nickname." Maria tumbled in the dirt with the cub while Kani looked on anxiously near the edge of the forest with the deer.

"And what you grinning about," she grumbled not unkindly. "Your little sister is practically getting mauled by a wild animal, and all you spirits do is stand there smiling and chuckling about it."

Moni smiled and brought her over, petting the leopard and guiding her hand to his head, to pet him.

Kani petted the leopard cautiously, still a little nervous around him despite Moni's influence. "Moni, I do not appreciate a wild animal around the farm. What if he tries to attack the livestock?"

Moni blinked. 'He's staying in the wild, and he's the one who got kidnapped. He never goes farther than this place, and I doubt he'd go anywhere near the town.'

Kani relaxed at that, realizing how silly she'd been to be afraid of something Moni had proclaimed safe. She petted Sweetie in a way that she hoped would calm him down a little. Moni might have proclaimed him safe, but she still didn't like him rough housing so dangerously with her youngest child.

Moni smiled and petted him as well, then was tackled by the leopard, wanting to play. Moni smiled and began playing with him, getting only small scratches and smiling excitedly as they played until the leopard pinned him, their sign of the leopard winning. The leopard got off proudly and strutted, making Moni grin.

Maria, Kina, Fryma, and Kori laughed as the leopard strutted around very haughtily for a few minutes, his tail forming a perfect question mark as he did so. "Sweetie, you are so silly," Maria giggled, running over to hug him and push him over to tumble with him the way Moni had. Kina started to stop her but instead shook her head, smiling and watching.

Moni watched them play, grinning and saw Maria win, making them all smile even more. The leopard walked over to rub against everyone before his mother came.
