Battlewagon Bitz has a pretty good system. Not necessarily the cheapest, but they've got a little of everything.

Another thing to do (if you can) is to go to your local hobby shop and ask around. Some shops have a bitz bin from donated stuff, or you might be able to get pieces off of another player. That would be a lot cheaper than battlewagon.

Lt. Brookman I'm thinking of getting a pile of marine parts and magnetizing them in such a way that you can swap the heads and arms. The only problem is finding magnets small enough for the task at hand. Blast from the past! I'm working on some sort of prototype done for the gaming group, so we can play Deathwatch with miniatures. I still need to find small enough magnets though, but I think I've got things narrowed down. More or less. sweatdrop

Just looking for suggestions her for a big Apoc battle. It's a three on three match, 3000 points each and my team and I decided to run it as specialists, meaning one of us has an army specializing in anti-infantry, the other in anti-armor and the as anti-elites [ie terminators, aspect warriors, etc.]. Being that I've started playing Blood Angels I wanted to go for the anti-infantry and I want to give the DC a whirl, but the prblem is, I don't know which I should take to the field for my 3k points. I can either field 12 DC dreads, 60 DC with hand to hand weapons and Astorath or I can field 75 DC with Jump packs, Lemartes in one group of them and Astorath in on of the others.
So far my opponents are one renegade armoured Guard army, a chaos Daemon army and a Chaos Space Marine army. I'm leaning towards the first group because they're slower, but they've got tons more hitting power with those dreads, but I'm still unsure.

Overspecialisation can be crippling, especially in Apocalypse. I'd suggest going all round and not focusing on just one opponent. It works better to focus on the bigger picture: capturing and holding objectives while dishing out insane amounts of punishment.
Also as a curiosity, do you have 12 Dreads or 75 Death Company?

Well, we aren't turning it into an every one pick a man thing. It's more of our anti-armour guy focuses on all the enemy's vehicles while me and the anti-elites guy keep their infantry and special troops at bay. Besides, I have only 3 tactical squads since I can take Assault Marines for troops, so I wouldn't be all that much help holding objectives compared to their troops who've got the numbers on their side.
And to answer your question, I have 40 Death Company, 3 dreads and 2 unbuilt dreads. A buddy of mine has been planning the Flesh Tearers for a while so he's letting me borrow a it and our store said they'd let me provided I take good care of them, which of course I will.

If going for so many assault marines I'd say split between killing enemy infantry and taking objectives, preferably the first clustered around the latter, that's how you win in Apocalypse. That and dropping 10" templates everywhere you look.

I suppose that could work. Use my Assault marines to take and hold objectives and have them pounce on anyone who comes too close. Well, if I do that I can take almost twice as many marines to the field and add some Devestators. Maybe I'll go with that, actually, after I get a lilst worked up.
