"Cause Rogue looks like she's going to beat their a** if they don't listen," Penny felt she was able to joke about Rogue since they were friends.
There was a television near the back of the joint which had CCN Money playing its nightly news headlines. She glanced up at the screen and saw her dad on the television. The headline was kind of small she could only see CEO of Bryant Marketing. There was no sound so she couldn't hear what he was saying. It wasn't uncommon for her dad to be having presconferences... his firm was one of the biggest in the country.
Penny ignored it and looked back at her friends. Anna craned her neck to see what Penny had seen, "Damn people and their damn good eye sight. You taking up world news these days?"
"Doesn't hurt to know what's going on outside of Bayville," Penny chewed on a straw.
"Yea, okay," Anna said knowing better, "Who's the guy?"
Penny smiled, "My wonderful father who wrote me out of the family name and the family will. Don't know what great deal his firm signed this time... but I really don't care."
Truth was, she really did care deep down. Being thrown out of the lives of her sisters was a bit easier if she told herself she didn't care.
"The nicest thing he did for me was give me a car before he threw me out so I could get off his property faster." Penny glanced back at the television before blocking it out of her mind. It was hard, her father looked sick and despite her hatred for him. It bothered her.

"Yet you do care for him. We can't help it. They did nurture us as we were children." Regina commented, leaning back in the seat. "I mean, my mom had a motto. 'Hey, I got you to 18. my place in heaven is secure!' I know she was always joking though."
A slight fight broke out near the bar of the restaurant. Nothing too serious. Just a couple of football players getting into an argument. Big surprise there.
"So I missed the lunch incident. What happened?" she asked the two. "I ended upgetting blown into a shadow during the Chem Lab explosion."

Raine nodded her head slowly at Ororo's remark about many groups of mutants around...she had noticed them. Banding together to survive...one of the less finer points of humanity; or so she reflected. Working alone was often-times much easier; you needn't worry about watching another's back as you protected your own.
"But why come here when you can learn about your powers just as easy in the real, outside world. So what if people treat you like a freak, it's your own pride in what you actually are that counts. Why should we hide?"
Bringing up a good point, the femora tilted her head slightly to the side to empathize her question, and then her eyes widen slightly in surprise at the woman's next questions.
"No...I'm not from Bayville; just a traveling assassin wandering through. As for my 'gift'....well...I wouldn't really consider it a 'gift'. More like an extension of myself. A part of me that make me unique. And if you didn't get an inkling from my code name, then I can easily show you."
While she spoke, a soft white glow surrounded her right hand, and a silver, curved dagger appeared. She spun the blade around her fingers idly.

"Sorry 'bout taking so long," Jacen said as he shut the door behind him and took a seat in front of Xavier's desk. He was rather non-chalant for being face to face with the ringleader of the enemy. Of course, having respect for one's enemies is something he learned a long time ago. A lesson he would never forget. "I'm assuming you have a partial notion as to why I'm here?"
Xavier looked at him with the same look he always gave Jacen. "Actually, no I do not. Why are you here?"
Jacen shifted a bit in his seat. This subject was a bit difficult for him to grasp fully. It didn't help he didn't know how to approach this. Having a living relative was something altogether new to him. With a hesitation, he cleared his throat.
"You know we, the Brotherhood, and your students were captured by that crackpot organization, right?" Xavier nodded. "Well. I was told by one of the geneticists there that I'm related to one of your students." The Professor didn't shift his gaze anywhere, he just stayed fixed on Jacen's while listening intently. Undetected, Xavier was scanning Jacen's mind.
"The thing is.......I've had a run-in with her before."
"So, you have a sister?," Xavier inquired, already knowing the answer to the question.
"Yes. And, well. We didn't exactly get things off on a friendly footing," Jacen said while looking away slightly. He wasn't ashamed of what he did. He was used to having to take what he wanted. That was the way he lived for the most part. "I guess I'm just unsure on whether or not I should divulge this information to her."
Xavier still sat there reading Jacen's mind. And Jacen knew he was being scrutinzed telepathically. He wasn't going to say anything though, not this time. After a few minutes of uneasy silence, Xavier spoke up.
"The only thing I can tell you is to do what you feel like you have to do, son," Xavier said calmly, almost fatherly. Xavier saw alot of potential in Jacen, and somewhat hoped that he'd see the err of his ways and join Xavier's ranks. But he also knew that Jacen took his debt to Magneto seriously. "Though, I can see without even scanning your thoughts that you're troubled by all of this."
Jacen nodded. "I think it'd lift a grand weight off of my chest if I were to speak up," he said quietly. " And even though Anna isn't exactly friendly with me, she does have a right to know."
Xavier smiled slightly. It seemed that Jacen was getting over the first hump; acceptance of the situation. "I'd let her know that she has a guest here, but unfortunately she is off the grounds," Xavier said, "But she shouldn't be gone long." Just as soon as he finished speaking, Jacen turned when he heard the door open. There stood a girl no older than he was, and nearly as tall. She had a couple of white streaks down the front of her hair, which was intriguing to say the least. This was someone Jacen hadn't seen before.
"Rogue? Will you please help Mr. Daniels feel more at home here while he waits for his sister?," the Professor asked. Jacen knew what he meant though. Please keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't try to start or destroy anything?
Jacen chuckled a bit, but didn't say anything as he turned to leave the Professor's office. When he got to the door he heard the Professor say to him telepathically, Tell Erik I said hello.
As soon as the doors closed, Rogue spoke up. "Don't try anythin' funny, got me?"

{Mmm.... Chicken grease.
And something I though up now: I think that Morgan's appearance should change slightly as well. Don't worry, it'll be described in this post.}
When McCoy returned to check on the boy, he found two things had changed about Morgan. The first, and the most important, was that the fever had finally broken, and Morgan's temperature had finally come down. The second was that Morgan's hair was pure white. "A bit peculiar. I suppose that the serum affected a little more than just his mutations. I geuss we'll have to see what Mr. Onasi thinks of it when he awakes," McCoy murmurs.
Morgan lets out a small groan as his eyes finally flutter open. He awakes to the sight of McCoy's face smiling down at him. "Huh? W-where am I?"
"You're in the infirmary, my young friend. Mr Nash found you lying unconcious in one of the corridors. You were running a very high fever, a result of the substance that you were injected with during your ordeal in the Savage Land. You gave me quite a scare for a few moments," McCoy says, smiling and putting a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"I feel like I've been hit by a truck. Repeatedly," Moran replies groggily.
"That's to be expected. You're genetic structure was altered slightly. That is why your powers were not working earlier. Also, it's altered your appearance slightly."
"What do you mean, "altered"?" Morgan asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Perhaps you should see for yourself." McCoy fetches a small mirror from one of the drawers. He holds it up for Morgan to see himself in it.
"My hair. Is white. Cool."
"Well, I'm glad that you find it agreeable."

LadyBelle Alanna remained on the porch after their visitor went inside. It was nicer out there.... and it was also harder to put the ground back to the way she found it than it was to make it bring up a wall. Ororo, of course, told her she couldn't leave the grounds until she cleaned up her mess. Rightly so, Alanna figured. Her own mother would have said the same thing. Mom... home... that place seemed so far away now. Not that she realy wanted to go back. All of her siblings had left the farm either to exciting new jobs, new familys, or to return to the earth. Her mom was selling their home and moving to the city.. Alanna had no place there. It was too mechanical. She would be in the dark and wouldn't know what to do about it. How did that girl make the wind move like that so easily? She wanted to learn, Storm hadn't shown her yet. She wanted to change the world more, at her will, not at her emotions. When Freya came out onto the porch... almost light as air. Alanna knew it was her, she could see the faint blue grey lines around her. She sheepishly said, "I'm sorry for the wall... We were... just worried about our friends." "You were worried I was an enemy," said Freya with a smile. "Do not worry about that anymore. You did what you had to do. Besides, it's not like I didn't want a fight. I could have fly above the gate." She could see the shyness in the girl's face and grinned some. "But you know, if I really wanted to fight, I would have easily took care of your earth wall. You see, I'm friend with the earth spirit. In a snap, she could have taken down that wall." The girl looked very worried and Freya waved her arms. "No no no don't worry. I'm not that mean. I won't do such a thing to you. Relax Alanna." She then slapped her forehead. "Sorry, bad habit of mine to call people by their names when we haven't been presented. I'm Freya. Nice to meet you."

(OOC: I'm back I think. I was just upset at selling my car...and not being able to go to England and visit my boyfriend like I thought. I will soon though. So that totally makes up for the car. lol It was my baby though. A '58 Tbird. At least the people that are buying it will take good care of it. That man's been lusting after Charlene, the car, since I got it. I don't guess I really need it anyway. God. Shut me up. lol.)
Vivien woke up with her head on the pages of her favorite book. It'd been a wonderful dream, but she was sore. Moving furniture had really done a number on her arms and her back. Sleeping in that weird position hadn't exactly helped either. With much crackling and popping, she rolled over and stood up off the couch. "Whoa..." she said "I sound like an old lady." she giggled at herself, walking into the kitchen. She'd bought some things from the store to cook, but she wasn't really in a cooking sort of mood. Giving the groceries a good once over and peeping in the fridge to see what else she'd bought convinced her. Vivien shuffled into her new bedroom and opened the closet. She picked out a purple and black top, oversized black trousers, fingerless gloves, and her favorite black boots. She showered. She dried. She got dressed. She put on her makeup, scooped up her purse, and walked outside to her car. A 1958 Ford Thunderbird. It was gorgeous. It wasn't the original paint job, it was Cadillac Pearl. It had vintage 1960 Krager mags, turquoise and white leather interior, and the radio had a nice, clear sound. She turned the key and the very gates of heaven opened up. Angels began choir practice. Somewhere out there Bill Gates felt charitable and didn't know why. Vivien scanned the streets looking for a restaurant.
(OOC (again): I can at least rp with the car blaugh )

"Freya, that's right... I remembered hearing your name when were were in the Savage Land," Alanna caught herself thinking back to that place and again caught herself letting her hair change to the green of the leaves of the Savage Land forests, "Sorry..."
Truth was, Alanna was fascinated with Freya since she saw her in the Savage Lange. She was brighter than everybody else in Alanna's dark world... was it because of this Earth spirit? How did she control it? Could Alanna learn to do this too? She wanted to learn so badly how to be good with her mutant abilities like her siblings.
"How do you learn to control something like that?" Alanna asked, "It seems so... big... I guess is the word for it."

Anna wisely kept out of the talk of parental figures, focusing instead on building a small pyramid of forks, toothpicks and napkins until new subject matter came to hand.
"I didn't even hear anything about that until I walked past and saw for myself. It was crazy! The whole thing was just unreal. Even with the people we know live around here, it's still hard to believe something like that could have sparked up. I don't know how caused it or anything..."
She sort of stopped midsentence, and stopped playing with the dinner-knife she was spinning against the tabletop, looking intently at nothing. Regina looked at her with a little concern.
"Hey, are you okay?" she asked.
Anna blinked away her concerns and smiled back unassuredly at her. "Yeah, I just... I think the Professor wants me back at the Institute for something. Sorry, I have to bail. I'll catch up with you guys later, get my pizza to go!"
She stood up and adjusted herself accordingly, snapping up her things and starting to prance out, when she stopped and turned around, running back to Penny. She fished a couple of notes from her wallet and palmed them to Penny. "Thanks, I'll see you at home." and she took off out the door again. She waved down a taxi and climbed in.
The taxi ride was an uncomfortable one. The driver kept sneaking glances back at her when he thought she wasn't watching, obviously noticing something, whether it be her body, cothing, or wounds. It was usually one of the three. Thankfully, it didn't last too long, and she paids the driver and rushed down the driveway to the Institute doors. The smell of freshly moved soil wafted in the air, which was odd, she didn't know of any construction to be done. She pushed open the mansion doors and trotted down to the Professor's office, tapping on it softly.
"Come in, Anna." she heard from the other side of the doors. She pushed her way in slowly, to see Xavier rolling around the room with a book in one hand and his reading glasses on. She approached him apprehensively as he turned to greet her.
"Did you call me back here, Professor?" she asked plainly. He nodded.
"A young man is here to talk to you about something, you'll find him wandering the hallways with Rogue. Please hear him out, you may find it's beneficial to you."
Anna's eyes widened a bit, but she remained silent for a while. "O-kay. Is that it?"
Xavier urged her on. "Go on, he's waiting for you."
Anna's brow furrowed, but she swivelled on her heel and walked back out the door, clogin it after her. Just before it closed completely, she opened it back up and stuck her head through again with a grin. "Hey Professor, is he cute?"
Xavier just looked at her with an akward smile on his face for a second, before answering, "Well... It's probably best not to go into the conversation with that perspective."
She huffed and exited, clicking the door behind her. She took a brief scan of the hallways, but didn't see Rogue at all. So she took a moment to make herself presentable, checked her breath and lipgloss, clipped her pony-tail to the back of her belt so it didn't swing around when she walked, and made sure her hair was straight and managed. When she felt she was ready, she trooped down the hallways looking for Rogue and her mysterious male caller.
She looked around for no more than about 3 minutes when she saw Rogue and a young man walking casually beside each other making small-talk. He didn't look too bad from back on, kinda familiar, though. Rogue looked a little defensive, crossing her arms and looking at the carpet as they walked. Anna psyched herself up and approached them. She got about 20 feet from them when she called "Hi there." and they turned around.
Immediately Anna took a step back in suprise. Here was the guy she'd had the tense little stand-off with a few weeks back. What the heck was he doing here? Naturally, her first words were a little less than ********..." and she stammered, but when the suprise had worn off, and he'd made no move to approach her, she composed herself and tried to look aloof. "What are you doing here? I assume you have a good reason."
"I do, I assure you." he seemed genuine. "Uhh, Miss Rogue, would you kindly give us a moment." he suggested, and Rogue hesitated, before walking towards Anna. She whispered as she walked past. "I won't be far away."
When the two of them were the only ones in earshot, Anna folded her arms and looked at him. "So... what did you want to talk about?"

"I'd rather be blown into a shadow than a row of lockers," Penny rubbed her shoulder to indicate how much it had hurt, "I can't believe you missed the cafeteria fight... it was on the first day of school."
"Why is it that I have a feeling you helped to start it?" Regina laughed while their waiter handed them their drinks.
Penny took the straw out of hers and sipped some of the Sprite out of the overflowing glass. She still hadn't admitted to anybody (but Rogue who was witness to the incident) that she was the direct cause of it. Comparable deniability? Is that what it was called. Nobody could ever say for certain that she did it if called into question.
"I think you might just be a bit paranoid when it comes to me," Penny played with the straw she had just taken out of the drink, "Let's just say it all started around the time I told Morrison he shouldn't pick on smaller kids and should pick on somebody his level... after that an apple went flying past my head and hit somebody else... all history after that."
And then Anna skipped out on them [ smile ].
"Well that was sudden," Penny said kind of worried about Anna's sudden departure, "Maybe we should head back and see what's going on? Xavier wouldn't call to her unless it was important."

"Let's at least wait for the pizza to get here... I'm starving." Regina pleaded, worried about Anna as well. "It never takes long, and I'm all for going. This place is getting way too crowded for my tastes..."
She watched as people began really flowing into the pizza place.
Gen blinked at the woman standing in front of her. "I was just looking around. What is this place? Seems pretty sterile compared to the rest of the place. And techincal. All this metal...."

"So, the genetics part, what exactly does that mean?" Morgan asked, geuninely interested. It was HIS genetics, after all.
"The substance that you were exposed to was designed to alter the genetic code of it's recipient, in this case, you. It has affected the mutation specific sectors of your DNA, which is why your powers are not working. It would seem that your X-Gene is still there, but it's effect has been altered. What that effect is, is completely unpredictable. You might have X-Ray vision, for all we know. But I suspect that we'll find out soon enough," McCoy responded, in his usual wise tone.
"So in other words, I have a different set of powers."
"Yes, that's a simpler way of putting it."
"So, can I go now?"
"Well, I suppose so. But don't exert yourself too much. Your body still need time to recover. I suggest you get cleaned up, and have something to eat."
"Good idea," Morgan replied, looking down at his sweat-drenched clothes. He hopped down off of the table, and walked off down the hallway towards his room to get a change of clothes, and then to the showers to take a shower. It took longer than he was used to, now that he could no longer shadow-hop. But he was grateful to be able to walk without having the room start spinning.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About ten minutes later, Morgan stepped out of the showers, feeling like a new person. In some ways, he was, but he meant it in the sense that he felt rejeuvenated. "It's amazing what a hot shower'll do for you after a near-death experience," he said to noone at all.
He dried off, changed his clothes, and headed to the kitchen. He caught a glance of himself in the mirror, and his eyes flicked to his pure white hair. "I think it looks good on me. I can't wait to see what everyone else thinks," he murmured, smirking.
