I'll hold my tongue for now on the reboot. Won't cheer, won't jeer. Just be aware and wait and see. Nostalgia goggles might make me praise what doesn't deserve it, and I have grown past the point in my life where "everything that isn't exactly the way I remember it is bollocks!!!"
Well, she is being stripped of authority. I am not sure if she knows yet, but the asst manager is now de facto manager, and my friend is the new asst manager. So, yay.

I guess we'll see how it pans out.
Perhaps your friend, w/ new leverage, can strive to improve the situation?
Thanks for the recommendation of Burn Notice. About halfway through and enjoying it a lot.

Burn notice is a lot of humor, and a lot of revenge. Not so much about who did what as 'how do we punish the asshats that did this?' And Sam Axe is awesomely fun to have around.

Yes, but your recommendation for it as a show akin to Leverage was spot on. It gets more serious in general, but nothing wrong with that. I always love when shows get old actors to return for supporting/mentor/etc... roles.

perhaps, but for me, the humor was paramount. the fun aspect of the show with humor and revenge without typically bulletholes in everybody made it far more enjoyable. It isn't about just shooting the baddies, it's about outsmarting them. Often using brains to enrage them as much as subdue them.

Yeah, the cast has good chemistry, so seeing them interact is definitely a highlight. I agree that the spy genre is superior to the commando genre.
Netflix included the movie about Sam Axe's final mission; it was a good watch, and he even did a call back to Evil Dead w/ "groovy" after wielding a chainsaw.

Bruce Campbell is something of a real-life Deadpool. Fourth wall breaks are expected to a degree, and his status as a B-lister among actors is legendary. In fact, I would think that his status there rivals some A-list actors for TV, thanks to his cult fandom.

That doesn't surprise me.
*sigh* work... work never changes...

Partially my own fault for not getting enough rest, but I would get more rest if work didn't take up so much of time. A catch-22 unless i'm willing to do less non-work activities.
On the semi-plus side, I'm being sent to a conference next week. 12 hour days, yes, but a break from the usual grind and some slightly nicer than normal food should make it okay.

Your employ sounds far kinder than mine. I don't even make minimum wage, and benefits are a dream.

Yes, I do understand our situations are quite different, and yours is definitely the worse deal. I am thankful for my position despite my complaining. 3nodding

This incarnation of life has many disappointments. Don't get me wrong, it does have some highlights . . . but yeah.
