"We're perfect." Luca kissed Lori and smiled. Together, they were, anyway.
"Europe? Around England, I suppose. A backpack trip would be great. There's so much history there. The castles, the sights, everything seems magical."

"We could do England," Dari said with a nod. He had never been there as a tourist. He'd never really been anywhere just as a tourist. He turned then to Toby and threw the ball hard, sending it bouncing off of the werewolf's head. Toby sputtered and lost his float, then of course picked up the ball and threw it hard at Dari, who caught it.
"I think we're being drafted," Toby said to Maia.

Cody beamed at Dari, then watched as he tossed the ball at Toby. "Good catch," he said, once the ball was back in Dari's arms.
"I think we are," Maia agreed, smirking. Well, that was one way to get Toby's attention. She swam towards the group. "What're we playing?" she asked.

"We don't know yet," Lori said as Toby and Maia came near, "Do you have any input?"
Dari smiled. "Thank you." He looked Cody over, drawn in by pale, bare flesh and dripping skin. Ah, yes. He turned back to Toby.
"If we had a net we could play volleyball."

"We can bring a net next time," Maia considered. Truthfully, she didn't know any water games. She, Toby and Dari usually just raced and swam until one of them got tired--or hungry. "Do you know any games?" she asked, looking to Toby.
Cody looked thoughtful. "Water dodgeball?"

"With just one ball?" Toby asked. "I remember like... Marco Polo and Chicken..." Back when part of PE had been in the town pool. He was partial to Chicken, perhaps because everyone ended up getting thrown back into the water. He used his hands to squeeze together and spray a jet of water at Dari, who just laughed.

It felt weird to not have plans with Cody. They'd been going out every weekend and some weekdays since their first date. He figured then that Cody was either busy with something secretive or very stressed. The first meant he would just drive by. The latter, he might as well try. He'd bought a couple of cupcakes from Sugar that he'd share with Toby and Maia if Cody was busy. He didn't want to force himself on his boyfriend, but maybe he'd enjoy just a nice little break.
He heard no excess noise or other voices from inside the apartment, so he knocked on the door.

It took a few moments for Cody to get to the door. He opened it and stared at Dari. It didn't seem like he'd gotten much sleep the night before--at least, it looked like he'd gone to bed late. His hair was tousled and he looked tired.
"Hey," he said. "Almost report card time. I'm grading papers. Want to come in?"

"Ohh, ouch," Dari said. It was about midterm time, wasn't it? He smiled softly and held up the cupcakes. "I brought you a treat. I thought you might be stressed."

Cody seemed to brighten when he spotted the cupcakes. He leaned over and kissed Dari softly. "Thank you love," He said. He led Dari inside. "I think I'm almost done," he muttered, looking towards the kitchen table. It'd been turned into a makeshift desk. Essays and history papers covered it in an disorganized manner, as if Cody had been trying to read more than one at once.

Dari returned the gentle kiss and looked off toward the table. Oh my. Almost done, eh? It didn't really look like it.
"Could I help?" He'd be happy to relieve any of the burden. In fact he'd happily let Cody have both cupcakes while he finished up. Love made your priorities sort of funny. "I got cookies and cream. The filling's so creamy..."

Cody blinked at the offer, hesitated, and said, "You can help me with these cupcakes." He sat on the couch and waited for Dari to join him. "Are you good with reading over essays?" he asked.

Dari smiled.
"I don't know. What are they on?" He invited himself to sit and popped open the cupcake container. "I teach English. Might that help? I've had to read an essay or two in my life." He didn't like assigning them, though, because it tended to make people resent the subject. Sometimes the Bureau required it.
He took out the more aesthetically pleasing cupcake and offered it to Cody.
"I've missed you. Is that silly?" He smiled softly.

"Egyptian gods," Cody said, and then paused to stare at Dari. "A secret agent and a teacher?" he asked. Was his job as a teacher part of his cover, or did he teach as part of his job? "Yeah. That'll help. We'll do that when we're done."
Cody took the cupcake happily and looked to Dari. "I always miss you," he admitted.
