I made threads for each of the ARMY LISTS, not each race. End of discussion.

I actually play the Kroot Mercenaries army, but it's cool that they're grouped in with the tau, there are so few kroot army players that having there own thread would just be a waste of space. The tau army is really tricky actually. The str 5 guns and the 4+ armor save are cool, but man are they fragile. The way to beat them (if any of you are interested) is to play your army with LOTS of troops, and deep strike as close to them as you can. If you can manage to get in close my poor ws 2 I 2 fire warriors will melt, just keep your eye on the battlefield and don't fall into any lure traps and you should be able to handle them no problem...the tau are actually one of the least effective armies in the game (in my opinion) and I'm really hoping the new codex fixes them up a bit. I've been playing them since the day they came out, and I love the fluff behind them, and a lot of the models, but the tau just need a bit of help before they can be really competitive...just thought I'd throw my two cents in! smile

Ok, I'm Tau and I've done almost nothing but fight hordes and hordes of Greenskins. I've never played a game with even odds and almost every single battle has been my FireWarriors and GueVesa trying desperatly to shoot down a tide of angry choppas - attached to which are 297 cursing barbarians.
Sure I can outshoot them, but killing them all before they say hello with sharp things? Not easy. They don't use a single vehicle and from turn 1, it's them tripping over themselves to taste our Greater Good Blood.
My devilfish will live for 1 turn, guaranteed. Every battlesuit will fight valiantly until it is swallowed, and every last Kroot - from the Hound to the Shaper will stab and eat and die to buy me 1 extra turn. Every steathsuit will jump, rejump and keep jumping until it's caught by a lucky shot. All of my firewarriors will grenade, and shoot and keep shooting until somehow - maybe, just maybe; they survive - and the Greater Good lives on to see tomorrow.
God, I love this game. GOD, I love killing Orks!

Good for you! We gotta keep those greenskins down, for the greater good!
Submunitions on hammerheads are perfect for the greenskins.

hmmm i feeling kinda confident right now, 7 wins in a row, damn nids dont they know hitting the front of a hammerhead with a claw isnt very effective (boom hur hur hur). 2 stories that have to be told:
2 stealthsuits getting charged by 2 ravangers and 12 genestealers, held out 2 turns and killed the ravangers.
last turn of the game, some nids have the final chance to kill my hammerhead by attacking rear armor, i note that they need to do a test for being out of 12 of hq. he rolls 11, after that, they have to hide in a hole in the ground making angry bunny like noises...
rest in piece, dear blood trail xp

My friend up there, Kchularrit and I have fought a few times. My Massive Ork Waaagh has never been stopped by his huddle of Fire Warriors. Try as he might, even my Gretchins get a few kills. But DAMN THOSE MARKERLIGHTS! My Warboss almost ate it three times from those damned things targetting him.
The Tau and Orks are some of the more interesting armies to fight each other. One is totally long range and the other is best up close so it's a constant retreat then charge fight. Once up close though, it's kinda hard for them to win, though the Kroot are good meat shields.

yeah it's a great match up. I like using aun'shi when I play against orcs (his entire background has to do with fighting the green skins)....nothing like a unit of fire warriors with a load of carbines assualting a unit of boys with 37 attacks + 4 from aun'shi to make the orc player go "hunh?!?"
and hey if you're having a hard time agains orcs...try crisis suits with twin linked burst cannon and the target lock (I think thats the fire at a seperate unit one) if your stealth suits keep going down. You'll pay like 15pts more per model, but you get str 5, t 4, 2 wounds, 3+ save, and two attacks. A bit more resilient than the stealth suits. Also bringing a squad of suits with flamer/burst cannon/ fire two weapons upgrade does REAL well.

500 point army 12 Firewarriors in two teams of 6 (120 pts) 1 XV8 Crisis suit with twin linked fusion blasters, shield gen, hard wired drone controller w/ 2 gun drones (135 pts) 1 XV88 Broadside battle suit w/ drone controller and 2 gun drones (90 pts) 5 XV15 Stealth suits (150 pts)
Total of 120+90+150+135=495 points I know i dont exactly have alot of fire power to take out heavy targets, but ah well, its not like i've seen someone use a land raider or a monolith in a 500 point game. well.... jus wondering if this is a good setup or not......
Roar...... i guess my army posting is either super horrible or i'm a topic killer..... oh well. Hope someday someone post soon.

From my experience anyway. I've never seen them not earn their points, and more.

Samulin 500 point army12 Firewarriors in two teams of 6 (120 pts) cant argue, if you have more pts add more though 1 XV8 Crisis suit with twin linked fusion blasters, shield gen, hard wired drone controller w/ 2 gun drones (135 pts) asuming from the points this is a shas'o, which has bs 5, so you might wanna drop the linked part and keep a singular blaster. add a burst cannon or something or make the controller non hardwired. 1 XV88 Broadside battle suit w/ drone controller and 2 gun drones (90 pts) this would work, but i myself would give him a multi tracker to save pts 5 XV15 Stealth suits (150 pts) for pete's sake, make these bonded Total of 120+90+150+135=495 points I know i dont exactly have alot of fire power to take out heavy targets, but ah well, its not like i've seen someone use a land raider or a monolith in a 500 point game. well.... jus wondering if this is a good setup or not...... if it works or not i dont know, but when you play this, your gonna get outnumbered by space marines.... thats not good... that is gonna hurt.... Roar..(meow).... i guess my army posting is either super horrible (nah) or i'm a topic killer(was already dead)..... oh well. Hope someday someone post soon.
