Lukas shook his head. His trigger was not exactly what she suggested. He considered himself to be a person that had a good deal of restraint. As a user of magic, he had to have self-control. "Neiii, not quite," he began, hoping to clarify himself. "Or maybe you are right, in the sense that I react when I am at my limits of patience..." While he did not voice it, it was true that he did not often show his emotions, instead preferring to stuff them down inside of himself until he could channel the release of the emotions into his magic or a fight.

Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Romero sighed and gazed disconcertedly at María. “I would rest easier if you would at least bring one of us with you…” He trailed off as he wondered who he might suggest to go with her. Antonio would indeed fall to pieces if he knew about the Mexican's condition, and Luis would probably pee his pants if he knew. Juan would likely react as he, Romero, had first reacted in this situation--with physical violence against the demon that plagued María. Pablo was more in tune with her distress than others of the Spanish family, but Pachicuti would likely ensure his inability to help. Romero himself was at best only loosely connected to his mythology and religion; he, like Santiago, were pragmatists and unlikely to be of much use in a supernatural dilemma. The rest of South America was no longer here at Axis High, and likely neither knew nor cared about Mexico and her condition. The Venezuelan hated to admit it, but perhaps it was best that Mexico work with the Nordics to lift the curse of the black blood. Romero sighed again, conceding the wisdom of her decision, buy he couldn't help but offer one last half-protest to María. "Very well, hermana," he said. "But if you happen to need it, go ahead and call me. Better to vent than to internalize it." The South American left it at that because anything more would be treading on very awkward ground.
As he listened to María and Lukas discuss potential curse-breaking items and methods, Romero began to feel increasingly lost and disconnected with it all. Yggdrasil? Mirmir's Well? Not only did he lack even the faintest clue as to exactly what those were, he also could not offer anything else constructive to the conversation at hand. Perhaps his invitation had worn out already. Romero tried to follow the discussion as far as he could, but inevitably it got away from him. He stood up. "I'm afraid I'm rather out of touch with my own mythology, so I can't be of any help here," he said. "Is there anything else you need me for? If not, I think I'll be leaving now. María, estarás bien?" Since he had had to carry the Mexican girl into the Mythology room, he was uncertain of her health.

As the two hispanic Nations conversed, the Norwegian watched with interest. He understood how Romero felt about Luz Maria...Lukas felt the same way about his own brothers--even if he did not always show such affection to them. He hoped that Mexico would heed Venezuela's words, and seek out his help if she needed it.
When Romero made mention of leaving, Lukas could not help but to raise a brow and smirk. "Leaving so soon? When you might learn something new?" He could not help but feel a bit of concern for Luz Maria when he noticed that her legs were shaking. "Have some refreshments if they will help you," he suggested, jerking a thumb towards some of the food that was still set out on a few desks.

Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Something in María's voice gave Romero pause, and Lukas' offer of food didn't hurt any either. Perhaps he was just tired and hungry himself. The Venezuelan walked over to the banquet table and helped himself to a few of the items there and then resumed his seat. He then fixed both of the cursed nations with a determined gaze. "If there is anything I can do to help you two, tell me and I will do it," he declared, the vigor restored to his voice. Food seemed to have worked winners on the Venezuelan's drive. "While I am no good with mythology and superstition, I've had more than my share of wars, and in recent days, all I have been fighting were supernatural creatures. Perhaps I can take a look at my ancient stories again, too, and see if they have anything of use."

"Any help that you can give us would most definitely be appreciated," Lukas replied to Romero, watching as he began to help himself to his food. The demon infecting us has been quite puzzling and while we are learning to hold it back, we have yet to learn how to fully beat it.
Luz Maria's comment amused the Norwegian in a way. The relationship that the Hispanic nations shared sounded like that of the Nordics.

Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Romero didn't immediately answer either nation, as he was lost in his memories of myth. He could imagine up any number of old tales from his past, but none related directly enough to María's and Lukas' curse to be of any use. As the Venezuelan pulled out his phone to find other myths, he answered birth of his companions. "Hermana, why would I tell anyone?" he asked. "There's no point yet. And Lukas, thanks for filling me in as well. Unfortunately, I can't remember any useful stories, but maybe something online will jog my memory."

Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Romero sighed as his Google searches came up as empty-handed as his brain. "Not even the Pemon myths talk about wish-granting items or even objects that will help," he said. "They either include the Sun, the magical world-tree that is only known to bear all the fruit of the world, or the death spirit Canaima... Besides those myths, the plateau near my Angel Falls has been referenced as a home for the gods." It was depressing to Venezuela that his myths weren't of much help at all.
To distract himself, he answered Maria's question. "Bueno... Colombia is still sparring with me and with himself. I swear, he goes out of his way to play the annoying hermano mayor. The Guyana twins are still very active and cling to me and Colombia every time they visit, but they weren't quite old enough to come here. Paraguay and Uruguay have been wrapped up in their own matter, and I don't know too much about the others." Romero crinkled his brow. "I think Luis wants to tell Juliana something, but I haven't seen him try yet."

While the rest of the conversation between Romero and Luz Maria was not of particular interest to him, one thing that Lukas heard piqued his interest. Rather, two things. The first was that there was a tree-known to bear all of the fruit in the world. Perhaps it could bear a wish-granting fruit. He was also interested to learn about the plateau that was mentioned as being a "home of the gods". So as to not forget these things, Norway jotted them down on the open notebook in front of him. "Do you know if that tree bears fruit that will grant a wish?," Lukas asked of Romero.

Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Romeo could agree with Maria, but beyond the childhood they had all shared, one of the things that probably made Juliana so irresistible to Luis was her vibrant, tropical personality. Until Argentina saw the darkness of that jungle, he probably would always be infatuated with Brazil.
As the world tree was not a particularly exciting myth--then again, none of the Pemon myths that had survived were--Lukas' question gave Romero pause, for he did not remember the answer to that question. To jog his memory, he scanned over the webpage he had found the myth on, but found no mention of myths. "Lo siento, Lukas," he said apologetically. "My Pemon myths are very boring, unlike Greece's. There are no wish-bearing fruits recorded in that myth; all it talks about are mischievous native animals wanting the tree's fruit. Then again, the thing is supposedly the size of a mountain, so there probably have been areas that no one explored."
