Kori smirked and made fire appear in the palm of his hand to prove Fryma's point. "I'd listen to him, or, as an added bonus, I'll burn down your house. It just looks SO flammable. The man paled and nodded. "Fine."

Fryma resumed his sarcastic smile. "That's more like it. Now would be most preferable since all the animals are starting to go to bed for the night. Your hunters don't even have to remember where they hid the little devils. You see, i went to the trouble of uncovering them for you."

The man nodded and walked with them into the forest, seeing how bears and wolves followed them, Moni smiling darkly. Now he could make sure that the mayor didn't hurt the forest. THEIR forest.

"Good. Now, get. Them. Out," Fryma growled, punctuating each word with a blast of hot air to the mayor's body.

The mayor gingerly collected the traps, eyeing the animals nervously.

"Now get out of my forest, and don't you or anyone from your village ever come in here again, or I promise you, I won't be anywhere near so nice. If I find any traps or any humans in here again, I will not stop Kori from making a little visit to your village, sparing only the farm on the edge of the forest," Fryma growled when the mayor was finished.

The mayor nodded quickly and hurried out with the animals on his heels. Moni felt a grim satisfaction seeing how afraid he was of the animals he'd spurned before, and allowed himself to relax.

Fryma smiled and turned to Kori. "I'm sorry you didn't get to do much in the way of helping, but the threat was much appreciated. Thank you for coming with us."

Kori smiled. "It's no problem." A bird flew over and perched on moni's shoulder, then began flying again, landing on a branch a few yards away expectantly. Moni understood and followed the bird, which led him to his mother and sister. He hugged them happily and they marveled over his new appearance.

"Moni," his sister squealed as she all but squeezed him to death. "You look so different. What happened to you?" She hugged him again. "We didn't get a chance to wish you a happy birthday, so happy birthday!"

Moni smiled, getting out his notebook. 'I became a spirit, to be with Fryma forever.' He explained, hugging them and noticing that his mother had a gift for him.

Karin smiled. "I'm happy for you, Moni. I made you a present." She handed him the soft, folded square of sheep's wool. "I think you might like it. Unfold it."

He opened it curiously and smiled to see that the wool itself was a sort of cape, and inside, wrapped in bay leaves, was a blueberry cheese that he'd tried before and loved when she made it. He hugged her and his sister held out something that she'd woven, a nice hat to keep the sun off of his neck. He put it on and grinned.

Karin smiled and kissed his forehead. "Where is your friend, Fryma? Did he not come with you?" Fryma had stayed behind when he saw that Moni was spending time with his family. He and Kori had returned to the treehouse to talk.

Moni looked around and felt a bit bad that Fryma wasn't there, but shrugged it off. He smiled at her. 'I'm not sure.' He wrote, hugging her.
