I just walked in and jumped into X's arms. Nanina shrugged and stopped next to the boys, waiting for them to get onto their horses.
Keith nibbled his lower lip then nodded. Well, ah. . . I hope you enjoy your stay here. He smiled them, having chickened out on what he really wanted to ask.

I was bored. Nanina winked and then let Bessie trot in a circle while they waited.
Oh, ah, no. Why? Keith smiled brightly, the dimple showing in his cheek again, and then stood, pulling Emily with him.

" You seemed nervous " Emily replied brushing the dirt away from her jeans.
" You can tell me anything" Emily added with a slight tilt of her head.

Keith shook his head and started walking back towards the ranch house. It was nothing, really. He still held Emily's hand and drew circles on the back of her hand with his thumb.

Emily nodded her head and walked alongside him. Her hand was still being held by his, yet she didn't care. It made her wonder though as to why he was being gentle and sweet around her.
could it be that im developing feelings towards this sweet cowboy? She thought in amzement.

oh and by the way, sorry for not posting very often - I'm pretty sure the writer's-block bug bit me.)
Xavier had listened to the others talking, simply standing by with the occasional nod or a quiet muttering noise. When Chris called Nanina and himself 'lovebirds' he had blushed, let go of Nanina and straightened his posture a little.
When Xavier spoke after a split second's hesitation, he said, "Yeah, ready. Lessgo." He mounted Lady, a snow white mare that appeared to have a mild personality, which of course was a direct contradiction to Xavier's personality. Oh well, opposites attract, even in the cases of being assigned to a certain horse.
"Well, I guess it depends." Kahlilia said quietly. "Maybe it differs between the mares? I'm not exactly sure, to be completely honest." She looked up at Roman and smiled sheepishly. Even though she was eighteen, she was only five foot four, so she was definitely shorter than Roman was.
"Thats probably it... I guess it might just remain a mystery." She smiled, and then said, "I guess so, both of them seem really happy to get out." The image of the two stallions running beside each other contentedly kept coming back into her mind. How did they manage to stay at such peace?
Kahlilia giggled when Phoenix poked his nose out of his stable. "Well, besides being a little goofball, I actually still need to find out." Kahlilia could have said running, given Benvolio's constant speed, but that just seemed too bland and ordinary for her. All of the horses on Starr Ranch could run - hopefully, at least. Maybe if she was lucky Benvolio would reveal his secret talent to her in the future. She blushed a little, feeling midly embarrassed for not knowing key information on her assigned horse. Well, they had only been here a few days, she thought, she couldn't blame herself yet.

Chris merely nodded and lead his horse toward an open field.

"That way," Xavier said, following Chris. To his surprise, Lady began to trot, and then gallop after a moment's hesitation. "Whoa." He muttered to her, giving her a signal to slow down. It took Lady a while to get his signal, but she evantually slowed down to let the other horses catch up.
"Sorry guys, I guess this gal got a little hyper." He smiled and chuckled a little. "Hey Nanina, which way is the river?"

When Chris entered the field he let his horse take off at a gallop.
Summer kicked her horse into a gallop trying to catch up with her brother.

Roman gave a little shrug. "Maybe it does," he murmured, thinking it through. "I've never seen any pregnant horses before, though, so I could be wrong. It was sort of an educated guess."
He smiled slightly. "Nothing wrong with the occasional mystery," he said, glancing out the open barn door. "Keeps life interesting, as my sister would say."
Finally, he glanced back at Kahlilia, smiling a little. He was glad that his sister had introduced them. "Any ideas so far? I mean, it's not a big deal if you don't know - I bet most of us don't. I wouldn't know about Phoenix if he hadn't surprised me." With a light laugh, he wandered across to pat Benvolio, only to be surprised by an irritated-sounding whinny from Phoenix. He glanced back. "Jealous, boy?"
Phoenix snorted and turned back to his water bucket, making Roman grin.
