trust me, it is. I am increasingly depressed on my lack of options and the debt I currently have hanging over me.

I know, old friend. If there were a way for you to help, I might even take it. But, I understand that this is how it is. Online colleges have screwed me to the tune of $150k+, and I can't seem to get a job.

Online colleges are supposed to be the more affordable option, but that amount of student loan is in the same ballpark as physical colleges. Hopefully a job comes your way, ideally in psych.

I just feel as if the college led me astray by downplaying the needs of a license. I cannot seem to find a place to hire me because I am not licensed, and nobody will help me get one.

You guidance counselor (or whatever they call them at capella) did a horrible job by not foreseeing this and guiding you to the proper path; instead you ended up going down a trap path due to their negligence.

Looking up games on youtube with the following term of "movie" has allowed me to see games I don't want to slog through, but still enjoy.

Legacy of Kain games are great for that. I also have the Bioshock games and Dante's Inferno on my list. As for Let's Plays, I tend to watch the horror games and enjoy both the game and the fear on the player's face. enhanced or not, it is fun.

Ah, yes, I've been quite tempted by the links you provided in the past that are the cutscenes of the LoK games. Some of the LoK aren't very playable (at least on PC), so it's an attractive option.

The gameplay, frankly, is not stellar. The original Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen is a repeditive mess, one that is best avoided. Second came Soul Reaver, and that made the jump into 3d fairly well. The combat is not great, but a good bit of button mashing. then came Soul Reaver 2 for the PS2, and that was where the graphics were coming up to par and the game's combat had some nuance with different enemy types to deal with. The demons at the end were particularly hard . . . until I remembered I had a projectile- and cheaply took them out from safe distance. SR2 was where the time mechanics really began to play a part, and where history was 'changed.' Thus, that was when Blood Omen 2 came out and downgraded significantly in the gameplay. The final game Defiance suffered from some really boring combat and highly repeditive aspects, but overall just like a 4/10. Playable, but not something you want to do often.

Now, all the series kept the same cast, and they are wonderful at that job. I adore listening to the games. Thus, the 'movie' option is far better than the actual games! All the joy, none of the slogging through dungeons.

I played LoK:SR 1 on DreamCast, which was a nice touchup to the PS2 version. I've since bought them all for PC (well, LO:LoK 1 is abandonware presently). On PC, the games are pretty hard to play, with to without a controller. SR:LoK 2 controlled terribly, but I chalk this up to the PC ports being lousy.

Oh, yes, Kain, Raziel, and especially Tony Jay as Elder God were stellar.

It's a shame the only thing the series has going for it is that Nosgoth F2P MMO. it's apparently decent for what it is, but it's defintiely not for fans of the franchise.

Not at all. The problem is that the author of the series has said "no more." So anything that might come to pass will now lack her vision and skill. Of course, the passing of Tony Jay also means that an integral character will either get a different voice, or not be written in. Either way, the series is more or less over. That is a shame, for it is one of my absolute favorite series ever.

That's really too bad about the author, though I understand since the devs at either Silicon Knights or Crystal Dynamics did not treat her very well from my recollection.

Certainly one of the best-written video games stories ever, since even the "best" video games stories are either of poor quality or copying from books, movies, etc...

as much as I loved the story, and would like to see more, I have to admit, the ending of the timeline as it is works for me. It ends with Raziel sacrificing himself to become the ravenous spirit within the reaver, and Kain wielding the newly made soul-devouring blade. His last lines are as follows.

"Now, at last, the masks had fallen away. The strings of the puppets had become visible, and the hands of the prime mover exposed. Most ironic of all was the last gift that Raziel had given me: More powerful than the sword that now held his soul, more acute even than the vision his sacrifice had accorded me. The first, bitter taste of that terrible illusion -
Hope."

That . . . that is just open enough to work without any issues. Still, it provided some closure to Raziel's story arc. Kain as so very much more to go.
