Layna hugged Gabriel to her. Her body quivered as she sobbed quietly. She wasn't sure of what to do, or what was to become of her sanity. She walked over to the couch and sat down, her shaking form not holding her any longer. The apartment felt empty without him here.

Gabriel clutched one of Layna's fingers in his hands, trying to get some sort of sense of comfort from his mother. Although her skin was warm to him, there was still a cold sensation running through the infant. His cries dulled down to a slight whimper as his tears ran down his cheeks.

Layna slowly calmed herself, her shaking subsiding. "It's okay....It's okay..." She whispered softly. She hugged Gabriel to her chest, humming softly.

Gabriel's whimpered subsided, and his small platinum eyes fluttered slowly. Gabriel looked up into his mother's eyes and slowly, whisperd, "ma.......................ma.........."

Layna gasped and stared down at her child. "Y-You spoke!" She stuttered, exasperated. She hugged her son to her chest, smiling softly. She had to stay positive for his sake...at least his sake. She was still scared of what could happen, but she had to push it back.

Gabriel squealed in delight and loosened his grip on Layna's finger at the sight of his mother's delight. He reached his hands out towards her head, "ma.....ma..."

Layna lowered her head and tickled his nose with her own. "My little boy....How happy he would be if he heard you say such things." She whispered, a smile crossing her face.

Gabriel grabbed his mother's nose and began to giggle. "mama! ma.............ma.." chuckled Gabriel in ecstacy.

Layna laughed softly. "Goodness! What a strong little grip you have, wolf. And what big eyes!" She stated with a smile. She had to forget, at least for the moment.

Gabriel smiled in glee, showing his first tooth that was halfway out. But then his stomach growled hungry, and he began whimpering again, as well as clutching Layna's hair on her forehead.

Layna sighed softly. "You are ridiculous, my little one." She murmured softly. She tugged at her shirt, growling softly at the wolven child. "You bite, I bite back."

Gabriel's crying ceased as he took what was offered and suckled. His beady little eyes rested on his mother's and suddenly, his eyes flashed dull grey, and images of his father present location and actions were spun into Layna's head.

Layna gasped softly, tears pricking at her eyes. "What is he....doing?" She whispered fearfully. Her whole body quivered to run to her mate's aid.

Gabriel didn't know what he was doing as the images of his father fighting Daiguren flashed into his mother's head, one after another. Gabriel held onto his mother's arm and clutched it tightly.

Layna cried silently, trying to relax the tension that threatened to overwhelm her. "He told me to stay....but...how can I?"
