Used to be that people who lived by the sword were honore dand respected. Used to be that discipline, patience, and dedication actually meant something. Wonder what happened to all that?

One word: Technology
You don't need discipline and patience to fire a semi-automatic.
"Guns: Those n00bs with swords can't dodge bullets!"
Once you've got something that can kill 10 men in half the time a blade could, with less necessary skill and training than a blade also, everything beneith it becomes obsolete.
Respect; Before: The most dedicated/trained warrior After: The guy with the biggest gun
Ah, Technological advancements. So loved yet so evil at the same time.

True enough... But that's why I've still taken to the old arts with the sword.
I had learned Scorpion Style with a wakazashi/katana combo when I was younger, but alas, with college and work now in my life, I'm not as agile as I used to be.
But even though there was no practical use for it, I still enjoyed it. I loved being able to do stuff that was thought to be extinct. smile

Honor?
In about fifty years that will be a novel concept.

Yeah, I know how it is when you have nothing but work, and I wasn't actually in reference to you.
We have 51 guild members... And out of all of them, only about 25% have posted in the past few weeks...
JB? Any ideas?

I would love to RP (hence why i joined this guilde), but I have no free time. Unless you count the time I use for sleeping. Maybe I could cut that out...
What could take up my time, you ask? Let's look at today, for example. At school I had 3 tests and a quiz. Keep in mind that I have four periods a day, each 80 minutes long. And a test at my school takes an hour. Joy. But I still have time after school, which ends at 2, right? No, wrong. Immediatly after I had a meeting for a compatition I'm in on Saterday. As soon as that meeting ended I had a committee meeting. And when that was over I had to race two towns over for yet another meeting. And I got home at 8. A typical Thursday in the life of me.
So I would RP more, but I've over booked myself. but if anyone is giving out time, I'd gladdly take it!
And a suggestion for members not posting: When I was posting in new topics, they died at the end of two weeks. If all topics are like that, people will give up and not join anymore RPGs. Especially if the starter of the topic abandons it.
Also, as wonderful as long literal posts are, most of us (I think) don't have the time to spend 2 hours a post. shorter posts might equal longer running RPGs. Just a thought.

The idea of this guild is to have people who do spend two hours on a post (although I never have) but post consistently. We appreciate that not everyone is going to have time to post a lot, but the suggestion was to join one RP and post there daily. Fifteen minutes to half an hour once every few days shouldn't be too bad.
Plus, for people who want, they are welcome to do shorter post RPs. No one has stopped it or even said a word. Personally, I don't like it as much, but there are such RPs around, even now.
I know that lives are hectic. Believe me when I say that mine's in the same boat, and there have been times when I didn't post at all. The goal is quality more than quantity. And RPs are bound to die. Look around barton town.
*shrug* More over, there are people in the guild who do post long posts once in a while and are good about sticking to whatever RP they're in, so we know it's possible. smile Just relax, pick one that suits you, be it easy or hard, and run with it.
Jeremy...

Honor already is a novel concept, at least in the main parts of society. There are few people left in this world that know what honor is, let alone live by it. It is sad to see the world so full of deceit and the like. I do my best to live with honor, though it sometimes is hard.

Besides, when I was saying something about few people posting, I was more or less referring to those who haven't posted at all, or very little at all.
JB and I both know about busy lives and I've seen you post. I was aiming at those that haven't posted at all and have been around for a few months. Now that, is some of the people who I'd like to have post.
Some people started posting quite a bit at the beginning of this guild and just sort of died out along the way, and I was hoping to be able to get them back into the swing of things.
Chances are though, that over the summer, we're going to try and recruit a few more people that way there are more RPs to choose from, and possibly even more people to help continue them.
I realize that about some RPs too, that they seem to die out in a few weeks and such, but I'm sure we've all had times where our inspiration just leaves us. I've had that happen on more than one occasion. But again, like I stated earlier, this was aimed at those that haven't posted in awhile.
We have 51 members, and at least 10 who are lurking. But anyways, as for school, it's better to do good in school now so you don't have to face the consequences later. *raises an eyebrow at JB*
So first, people need to take care of themselves before taking care of Gaia. This is a fun place, not a place of responsibilities. biggrin

twisted Maybe we should do something evil with those who haven't uttered a word in the guild. I have plenty of Ideas, plenty.
I remember when school was well, busy...oh the times. *Slaps self for reminiscing.*
Anyway I have to agree with Exaggio when sometimes inspiration leaves us. Sometimes it takes others who join in the RP to move the story along not just the thread maker, unless they say not too.
But anyway I'm here to enjoy my days off and RP mrgreen

Just hang out and RP. You are not in trouble or anything. We are just trying to get an idea of exactly how many people are still with us. smile
