"I dunno. I think we're supposed to shoot all the spaceships so we don't die," Kevin decided, simply by watching the scene that played with the insert coins now over it. "You were good at that zombie game," He said. "Its two player. You can be that rocket and I'm this one."

"Alright, sure." Toby took control of one button and roller ball and waited for Kevin to insert the coins before beginning. He was predictably not all that good at it.
Dari chose to now show or admit his discontent at the idea of shooting down spaceships so you weren't killed. he knew they were raining missiles, but all the same, it made him a little uncomfortable.

Kevin inserted the coins and began the game. Like Toby, he wasn't very good at it. By the second wave he'd lost two of his buildings to alien missiles.
"They move so fast, I never know which way to go."

"Well, I mean, they're moving in the same pattern, but frankly I'm not one to talk because I'm not doing any better," Toby said with a laugh.
Later it came time for lunch and the boys all headed out, packing Kevin's new things into the trunk before heading to a sandwich shop with a ice cream parlor next door.
"Alright. You can make your own, if you want, with whatever you like. How are you with the board?" Did he want Toby to read it out to him?

Kevin struggled with reading the board, until Toby asked. He looked over to him. "Can you help me?" He asked. He was getting better at reading, but sounding out words in public was embarrassing.

Toby nodded, but his gaze stayed at the board just a moment too long and Dari turned instead, rattling off every meat, cheese, vegetable, sauce and bread available from memory. it was just easier that way.
"I would have!" Toby said with a laugh.
"Sure, but not as quickly."

How did Dari remember all of that? Or could he read that fast? He selected Italian herb and cheese bread, roast beef, no lettuce (Bleh!) tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. "Oh, and maybe some mayo? I guess."
"What do you guys want to do after lunch?"

Toby gave their orders and stood aside by the drink coolers while the sandwiches were made. He turned to Kevin and shrugged.
"I was thinking ice cream and a walk through town?" Surely they'd find something else to do there.

Kevin had only recently been introduced to sugar, and discovered that fae wide sugar addiction. He smiled. "Ice cream sounds great!" He agreed, happily. And walking through town would be fun, too. "Can we go to the arcade again sometime?"

"Sure," Toby said with a nod.
"There's a video game store in town too. It's much better than the one in the mall," Dari added with a smile.

"Really?" the Kelpie smiled at Dari. "Let's go there. Do you think I can get a new game for my 3ds?" And maybe a new stylus... He'd gotten angry once when he'd died and tossed it somewhere in his apartment. He hadn't found it yet. "Will you help me chose a good one?"

"I'm sure you can," Dari said, "they sell used games as well. Your 3DS is backwards compatible. You can play plain DS games on it too, so the library is twice as big. I don't play many DS games myself but I can help, sure."
Their order came up and Toby wet to grab it, then led the others to a table with their drinks. He plopped down and watched the pair chat.

"Awesome," Kevin said, happily. Backwards compatible, that meant it could play older games too? "What kind of games do you play?" He moved to sit next to Toby. "Which one's mine?" he asked.

Toby slid Kevin his sandwich and smiled. He also slid him a Snapple to try.
"Mostly big consoles," Dari said, "The newest one. I have a lot of PC games too? I'm awake most of the time... like all of the time? So I have to do something." He smiled. "I'll help you win." He settled in with his sandwich. Mmm...

It wasn't all too long before the trio left the building and came back around to the ice cream shop. They had 26 flavors, and soft serve too. Toby simply stood back with his hands in his pockets, smiling as Kevin and Dari went down the line of flavors.
