Faust shuddered. "Eliza... Eliza..." he repeated, trying to only associate "lover" with his wife.
"Well, he'd be a hell of a lanky lion or tinman," sighed Mephistophiles. "How about Faust is the wizard, and I'm a flying monkey?"
"Now, that's ridiculous! The wizard is a villain in this telling!"
"What, you want to be the tinman?"
"Not particularly..."
"Aw, hell! Netsubo likes 'Wicked,' so that's what we're going to be!"

"Yeah... green... bit of an understatement" Faust said, reaching up and touching the stitches in his face. "Mephistophiles, you turned me into a scarecrow!!!" he swatted angrily at the cackling flying monkey, but his blows were pitifully ineffective.

"That's right... I'm your SLAVE!" Mephistophiles drawled. "Anything you say, mistress...."
"Where are we...?" Faust asked, stumbling slightly and managing to catch himself before he fell. His straw knee brushed a road of yellow bricks. "Give me a break!"

" 'There's no place like home!' " Faust corrected harshly. He was very angry, but the fact that he was made of straw and cloth made him hopelessly incapable of inflicting the damage gave him a restlessness that was almost as frightening as physical ability.
"Whatever.... but you'll get used to being a straw man. The stitches and all... it's not so different from your real body, you know. Boy, am I glad I didn't turn you into the tin woodman, though. That temper with an axe could have been a bad thing."

"As far as the singing munchkins say to!" Mephistophiles said. Some of the bushes nearby giggled forebodingly.
"Let's get strengths and weaknesses sorted out," Faust said quickly. "I can't be hurt in the traditional sense..."
"But you need to stay away from fire," Mephistophiles replied. "And you, Netsubo, or should I say, Elphaba, need to avoid water at all costs."

"actually that was just a ploy to get them all to think that she was affected that way..there was a trap door that she disappeared into. at the end of the play, she and fyiero walked away, leaving everyone thinking they were dead so they could be together...

(( sweatdrop I've never seen the musical... I read the book. In which Fiyero is not the scarecrow and Elphaba dies. crying ))
