[Dawn : Black Pearl]

Dawn danced for several minutes to keep the slow up. One thing about being below deck, she didn't know what the heck what was going on with the others. Nor could she tell if her dancing was being effective.

'Garuda, get up there. Help anyone you can, as I switch up my dance. If I am going to help the others at all, the best way is by giving them boost that I know that will work, verses trying to hinder the enemy when I don't even know if it will work.'

Above deck, Garuda's summoning circle appeared along with a burst of wind. The Avian summon rushed over between John and Saint and reached out with her claws, infused with wind at the replica in attempt to knock the back Saint and injure him. After her attack some healing wind swept over John to help him with his injuries.

Meanwhile, below deck Dawn switched up her dancing. Switching from the slow effect on the enemies to bravery on all her allies.

{ Kuro Oni ; James ; Alex : The Black Pearl : Deck}

{{Cue: Metal Gear Saga}}

More fists flying his way, the replica was able to block or evade most of them. However, a few good ones hit their mark, the force behind them enough to daze the replica but only for a second. The Nightmare Dreadnought recognized this, the rage, the blind fury that the corsair was in. This was the berserk nature that the corsair had once blamed upon the "demon" in his mind that the replica had based his form off of. The cold and merciless demon of his nightmares.

"Come on! Show me what you've got!" the replica bellowed. "Give in to the darkness that has a hold of you!"

He then took the next opening that he had and returned James' furious assault with a well timed strike of his own. The Wolf Fang Fist erupting from his curled fingers as he struck at the young man's face.

The lycanthrope that had once been Alex still remained stunned as Kuja unleashed one of his most powerful attacks. The blood red eyes of the beast darted from side to side as he watched the blasts of energy converge around him, unable to do a thing about them as they impacted, eliciting a growl of rage and pain from him. The growl turned into a howl of agony as the blasts converged once again exploding into an attack of black of black and red energy. The blast strong enough to send the unversed into the air.

The beast was launched off of the deck of the ship and due to the angle of the two ships in the maelstrom crashed into the deck of the other ship, boards cracking and splintering under the impact. As the bestial form laid on the deck it began disintegrating, curling wisps of darkness falling from it's body, the monster defeated.

James staggered back as Kuro unleashed his Wolf Fang Fist, the blades of energy slashing into his cheek as he fell back. The corsair could feel the warm sensation of blood running down the side of his face and quickly raised a hand to wipe it onto the back of his gloved hand.

I need more strength... Fenrir, give me everything that you've got!'

The corsair hadn't even really noted the strange silence from Fenrir during the fight until that moment. No reply came from the Lunar Wolf aside from what felt like a very feral growl. Despite that though, the corsair felt the increase of energy and grasped for it, not even caring that it was darkness he grasped at. His fists tightened and his teeth clenched as he felt the darkness surround him, fill his body with energy and new found strength. Tapping into the power of the Dark Wolf that he had only once used and by complete accident at that.

"You asked for it! KURO!!!" James yelled, the last word coming out of his mouth with a very bestial edge to it.

Kuro couldn't help but smirk as he watched James tap into the very power that he had so tried to avoid. Things were about to get interesting, of that the Nightmare Dreadnought was sure.

"Now that's more like it!"

[Jenny :: Atlantica :: Throne Room]

[Cue: Beautiful Freedom - Bruton Music ]

The mage winced as Kyle shouted over the charms, she definitely didn't need to be right next to him to feel his anger. His emotions had flared up, almost silencing all the other songs in her head. If she was the same Jenny as the one who tumbled into this crazy world seven days ago she would have shied away from his voice. She still didn't like the sounds of anger but, she reacted differently now. It didn't make her want to cover her ears and run someplace safer... instead, it made her defiant. Who knew if that was better in the long run, but she used that courage to channel her magic.

"This boy isn't the brightest bulb, is he?" Siren asked, as her initial unease faded into bemusement.

Jenny remained tense, cursing the fact she was so far from the battle and from them; with only her songs and the charms to connect herself to them. Thank goodness for Noelle though, who she could tell was hurt but without her, Joe's or Mathys's efforts... no, she didn't want to think about that.

So when Kyle asked for buffs, Jenny almost gave a hysteric chuckle. As long as they were okay... she would give much, much more. Try not to be such a headstrong idiot next time...

The music surrounded him as she cast an array of spells; the melody danced and wove itself into a protective Reflect spell before the tune changed pace into something lively and quick casting Hastega. Then Siren's voice joined the soiree, the sound of her harp and her singing wrapped Kyle in a shroud of Bravery, Faith, and Regen.

((I was looking all over, but Haste seems to evolve right into Hastega... am I just blind o.o? ))

{Bobbi .:. Atlantica .:. Above Battlefield}

Bobbi'd forgotten how hard it was to concentrate when you couldn't even control your emotions. She had no idea what was going on around her, as she was too focused on keeping herself in check. She hardly noticed as Noelle broke her contact with Kyle, except that there was no longer that blessed, demanding drain. She felt like a grenade with the pin pulled, all explosive energy and nowhere to go but boom.

I'm not doing this again...

I'm not
being this again!

I... won't... let... it... control... me!

Help me, Shiva, please!

~:Release it.:~

Would you knock if off with the cryptic remarks and actually be helpful for once, sensei?!

~:Don't be more than an idiot than you already are! You have all of that energy, and by some miracle, Kyle didn't take it all. Use it! You're good at shoving your emotions into the back of your mind, now shove them somewhere else!:~

Epic level kablooey?

~:Epic level kablooey.:~

Maybe three heartbeats had passed in this exchange. Bobbi had been floating slowly away from Kyle, Joe, and Noelle, and now turned to face the battlefield again. She clamped her left hand around her right wrist and concentrated with all her soul, going into a trance-like state as she tried to find all the tiny bits of Darkness that weren't specifically hers, and force those energies to coalesce in her palm. It was probably a noisy affair, accompanied by a lot of grunts and ending with a scream, but it worked. Some of her Ice magic came out as well, and a huge Blizzara spell formed, laced with Darkness, that she fired at the enemy lines once it reached the limits of Bobbi's control. The spell would pass harmlessly by any allies, and obliterate any weak or weakened enemies, though there wasn't much of those after Kyle's latest to-do.

Panting, Bobbi drifted listlessly for awhile as she tried to pull herself back together. The horrible feelings were gone, and any outside Darkness that was left she could more than likely deal with. She had no idea how long she stayed in that dazed stupor, but Kyle's Charm request roused her somewhat.

:You are sooooo lucky I trust you, man,: she sent as she downed another Ether. :You owe me after that last stunt.: Once her Mana levels were restored, Bobbi removed Ice Spirit from Kyla, and transferred it to Kyle since, even at full Mana levels, she could only maintain one at a time.

[Matthew :-: Atlantica :-: Battlefield]

Matt observed the exchange between the trio cautiously; Kyle was his friend, but he had never acted like this before. He was thrown off by the three suddenly merging together. Matt couldn't help but feel that was going to be a continuing trend. He clearly heard Kyjoelle's voice in his head asking for a Mix.

'We got anything for speed Dave?'

'That would be an Ether and a Zeus' Wrath. Good thing you picked an Ether up from the ship, I can't produce those,' Dave replied.

Matt called forth the bottle of Ether and yellow orb. He mixed the two together, resulting in a burst of electric sparks that flowed towards the Driven trio. Adrenaline would allow them to act a little faster than before.

[ Rourke and Co. : Atlantis : City Proper ]

Meanwhile...

It was only barely bright in Atlantis, but the mercenary crew under the command of Lyle Tiberius Rourke was awake and fully prepared for their mission. They'd rounded up Milo and Kida to use them later and were set to march toward the Throne Room.

That, however, is when the quake happened.

It lasted for a few minutes before dying down, waking most of the populace in the process. Normally, Rourke wouldn't have given a damn, but the small tremor had come from their getaway rendezvous--the only known entrance and exit for the city. So now, he had to make a choice. Did he check out their exit, risking the element of surprise should the people send word to the king that his men had assembled with weapons? Or did he go for the king and the Heart of Atlantis, showing his hand without knowing if he had a proper escape route?

After discussing it with Helga, his second-in-command, he turned toward the rest of his men--including the two Turk liaisons that had come with them.

"Alright, half'a you go with Helga to check the exit," he barked, grabbing his gun and pulling Kida roughly into his grasp; he kept the gun to her side. "The other half'a you come with me. As long as we've got the Princess, I doubt His Majesty's going to try anything stupid."

The men and women all nodded and, without even a discussion, split into an exact even team, Helga leading her half down the declining road toward the exit. The other half began their ascent toward the Throne Room, some keeping their guns pointed at Milo while Kida remained in Rourke's vice-like grip.

[ Ajora ; Artemis : Atlantis : Underground Cavern Opening ]

The twisting spiral cavern finally ended its descent with a flattened bottom and a large, gaping hole in the side of the wall that led to a lighted area--an oddity, considering how similar the light seemed to the natural glow of the sun.

Ajora grinned, allowing the Trident to stop emitting its glow.

"We're here~," he chimed, flourishing the Trident playfully as he began to stroll through the opening. However, an odd sensation stopped him--and would likely have caught Nicholas and Alice, as well.

He looked baffled before laughing. He knew that feeling.

"I'll be damned! Another Ivalician!" he shouted in excitement. With a small word from Ultima, he laughed again, this time in surprise. "And not just any Ivalician! What are the odds?"

Eager to find the newly-discovered Avatar, Ajora began to jog through the tunnel, coming out into a massive open area--the Lost Empire of Atlantis. In the distance, he could see a small group of dark clothed people running his way, led by a tough-looking woman with blonde hair.

He slowed his pace to a standstill and waited for everyone--both his allies behind him and the fools ahead of him--to catch up. He put on a friendly grin, keeping the Trident readily at his side as he stood in his tailored white suit.

[[Considering the others have been able to detect Ultima, it seems only right that all the Ivalicians can detect and identify one another at a range. Just a heads up to the rest of you in this current scenario.]]

{Tseng : Atlantis : City Proper}

The leader of the Turks stood amongst the gathering of the mercenary crew that had been hired to explore Atlantis. He remained silent and calm as the group prepared to head toward the Throne Room where they hoped they would find the source of power they were looking for.

Then the quake occurred, the tremor shaking the ground on which they stood. It soon subsided though. The turk, ever cautious surveyed their surroundings to make everything still seemed stable. He noted that Rourke's focus had turned towards their way out of the city and then called Helga over.

He had suspected they were discussing the condition of their escape route and his suspicions were confirmed when Rourke spoke. As the people began to split into the two groups as the mercenary leader had ordered, the leader of the Turks turned his focus to the young man that he had brought with him.

"Go with Helga," he instructed. "I will go with Rourke to keep an eye on things."

With that the black-suited man walked off to follow the others as they began their ascent to the Throne Room. He looked calm though the Turk was ready for anything that might happen. His priority right now was to investigate, nothing more. So long as the mercenaries did their job and stuck to the plan, he wouldn't need to take any unexpected action.

[ Daniel : Atlantis : City Proper ]

It's gotta be a Monday.

What does that mean?

The Turk shuffled in place, trying not to attract attention

Mondays are always bad. It's the beginning of the week, ya know? The worst that can happen usually does.

What makes you say that now?

Daniel looked about at the group of well-armed mercenaries he had found himself a part of and grunted. The concept of forcing the hand of these 'villagers' with such excessive firepower danced among his most immediate thoughts. He pushed it away with a shiver. Was it the third time he rationalize that it wasn't the Turks who were responsible? Daniel cursed under his breath again and turned his attention to his inventory. Anything to take his mind off the imminent theft of the Heart.

Hidden within his suit was a standard issue baton, communication device, and smoke grenade. Daniel patted his suit to find their familiar shapes and relaxed a bit. A week ago he would not have been so fond of such things, but times had changed.

Well?, the voice said with impatience.

Daniel's mood soured at the thoughts resurfacing.

It's not easy waking up to do your job... when doing your job means kicking a man when he's down.

Then why do you do it?

Daniel gazed off to his left, imagining the goal they were after. He had seen the movie once before, but it had been a very long time. He could not remember the Heart of Atlantis. He did, however, know that it was the source of incredible power keeping Atlantis in the state that it was for eons.

Maybe we can make something of this you know? It's obvious these people, despite their best intentions, are not harnessing the potential they have available. If we take it, there is a chance we can make something better of it. If not we leave it here and stay out of their business for good. Everyone wins.

The presence didn't get a chance to respond before the earthquake hit. Daniel crouched low, maintaining his footing until it ceased. He scanned the crowd to see if anyone was hurt or knew what was happening, but lost interest when he laid eyes on Rourke. The man was evil; Daniel didn't need to watch the movie to know that. It unsettled him to work with Rourke so closely. When Tseng directed him toward Helga he wasted no time in trodding off with her team.

Helga on the other hand, He could relate to her. She did what she had to and she had the strength to do it. Daniel admired Helga and did not mind falling under her command. For a moment Daniel's thoughts went out to Tseng, wishing him good luck, before the scene ahead interrupted the group's pace.

Ooohh~~ Interesting~~

What? What is it?

I feel a familiar presence! I think old friends of mine are here to play~

Just passed the entrance to the massive cavern a man stood on the threshold of darkness. Helga and the Mercenaries fanned out around him, guns drawn. Daniel felt a chill run down his spine, but he took a position in the circle with his hand ready on his baton.

There wasn't supposed to be anyone else in these caverns...

[Nicholas :: Atlantis :: Cavern Opening]

The Dark Knight followed quickly behind Ajora, making his way out of the cavern and into the spacious open area. He squinted for a moment, his eyes coming out of focus before zeroing in on the City of Atlantis, as well as the mercenary group led by Helga. His gaze shifted to Ajora, noticing the white suit he was wearing and how unfitting it was in the scope of the world they were in. Ajora's mention of another Ivalician raised a brow, but it wasn't as much of a concern to him. His view was focused on the mercenary group and their guns, a wild grin forming.

"Oooh~" Nick cooed, his hands reaching towards the hilt of Garland's sword. "They rolled out the welcome wagon out for us! I'm going to go greet them!" He announced, walking quickly towards the mercenaries. He unsheathed his blade and placed it in front of him as a shield, on the chance they opened fire on him. "Please do not fire! We come in peace!" He called, taking slow deep breathes as he made his way closer.

...Be careful, boy. The thirteenth is here... Chaos muttered, Nick stopping part way towards the mercenaries.

...Thirteenth? Well, this will be fun. Snake versus bull, with the virgin waiting in back, with no intention to stain his pretty white dress. He quietly thought to himself, making sure to stifle his giggling. Chaos was about to ensue, and Nick couldn't wait to use his blade in battle. All he had to do now was approach as close as he could before ruining their day.

[Kyla: Atlantic: Above the Battlefeild]

It was too Late.

Satisfied she managed to destroy enough of the enemies to buy Dani her escape Kyla had turned her attention to covering Bobbi's assent to their side. The archer must have been relayed some kind of instruction from Kyle and was glad the girl didn't react so much to his obvious physical change.
It was hard to look at, the enormous amount of pressure and strain on him was no doubt incredible... just how far Kyle was taking this? Since they split up Kyle's negligence of his own personal wellbeing was becoming more and more obvious. In his desperation to ensure victory was he willing to push himself beyond his limits?

Something was coming: by now the geists must’ve realized they were being assault from above and a few of the much more menacing types had begun to rise up towards them with a speed that was cause for concern.
Kyla was blasting them at them just when something like a cold wind passed by her senses.

Since when was there a breeze under the water?

It didn't feel like a current, yet it passed through her like air.
Something was wrong, and when Kyla turned she did just in time to witness something from behind Bobbi and Kyle make its move.
"Bobbi!!!-" but her warning came too late as the hand shot out and struck Bobbi right in her back. The absorption was over in second, inky black veins crawling across her friend’s body like some bio hazard infection.
'No no nonononono!!!’
"You get away from them!!!!!"
It was too late.

Even as she unleashed a Birn Strike lvl 2, shooting at it with an unbridled anger--it was already gone. It was pathetic how quickly it dealt the blow! And she let it get right passed her!!!

Through Bobbi the darkness infected Kyle and all color drained from Kyla's face as they were both overcome. "Kyle! Bobbi!" Kyla was at their side instantly watching at the progression of the darkness swept through Kyle and the archer.

Worse still, Kyle didn't seem to be fighting it.
" ..Kyle what are you doing?!"

Behind you!

Oh now was NOT the time to F**k with her!!!
Kyla spun with a single kick of her tail and reused the neglected Birn strike lvl 2 to fire at a Grim Geist which had pulled ahead of the others following. She shot it right through the heart. (( If it had one)) The crinkling sound of the ice that seared through its body seemed to spread much like that infection did. Veins of cold spider-webbed through it till the creature fell apart and disappeared.
That looked like it would hurt. A lot.

She was too late.

Turned around she could now see what was going on down back on the battle field. The pattern and the growing formation of ice, overall it looked like Bobbi and Kyle had some kind of hold on it, but something was wrong, really wrong about it.

"Kyle what are doing? Was this really part of your plan?!"
Something was happening to his arm as well. It wasn't like the rest of the veins crawling across his skin.
It seemed like Bobbi was handling it better then he was- or was she?
This was nuts! And what could she do?! Did she try and stop this? Was this the plan all along? Kyla didn't know anymore. There was always something being hidden from her it seemed.
As the ice continued to grow and the area grew somehow..darker.. colder... Kyla turned back to her companions and almost had to stop herself from touching Kyle or Bobbi.

“You guys- whatever you're doing- it's not putting our friends in danger is it?"
Kyle looked awful! What was golden was no red- like some accursed spell that just consumed him.

Nothing about this looked or felt right. That was putting it mildly. With every fiber of her being Kyla knew what Kyle was doing was just... too much. He was dabbling in something that was ruining him in some way and she couldn't let it continue.

“Kyle, answer me right now- or so help me I'll shut you down!" But he wasn't there, he wasn't listening to her.
Noelle came up to them, finally reaching them and without as much as a glance she placed a hand on Kyle.
"Noelle? Do you know what happening?"

~ I'll place all bets she's talking with him, and Ultima. If Kyle’s not home, his summon maybe picking up his messages.

She could see Joe coming up to join them now Ok, something was going on and whatever was being said was causing Kyle state to become even more aggravated!

Kyle was yelling. She couldn't hear it, but she knew he was yelling.
"Kyle! Stop this right now!!! Listen to her!!"
Just then something attacked Noelle!
A dark backlash that sliced at the agromancer. What the F**k?!!
Worse it was...
" Oh God...Noelle!" Kyla moved to help pull her away but Noelle did that on her own. Instead sand moved up and wrenched Bobbi away from the contact.
And that’s when Noelle unleashed her own rage and Kyle's plan was out in the open.

He was going to... kill everyone?

No.. no that couldn't be. Not him. This was the Kyle who took his actions so seriously, he was always putting everyone first. He worked so hard to keep everyone safe. He was always thinking of what was best for everyone...

This was wrong; it had to be the darkness that was infecting him. It had to be! And it wasn't just him; it was in Bobbi and Noelle too! It was messing with their mind, their hearts. She had to do something! Run and shield the others?! Or use something in her arsenal to shut Kyle down.

She was just too Late.

Just before she could find her page a loud SMACK from Noelle's slap stopped everything.
Everything.
By the end Kyle was Kyle... but he wasn't back.
Kyla swam around to look into his face. " Kyle- hey, snap out of it."

Her face felt hot and she blinked mistiness from her eyes that she was finding more and more frustrating.
In his own eyes was the tell tale sign that he was somewhere else. Thinking, saying, doing something else that she couldn't comprehend.
No matter what Kyla did, no matter what she said or asked, he just didn't see her.

She couldn't help him.

Even when she looked to Joe and Noelle they seemed to be talking on a wave length that she wasn't privy to. Noelle just kept shouting at Kyle and soon Joe was joining her.
Kyle said nothing, his eyes were an eerry golden as looked beyond her like she was invisible and glanced over to Noelle.
And then she saw the darkness take him. Whatever passed through his mind it was over and Kyle had made his decision.

" KYLE! STOP!! DON"T DO IT! DON"T GO THERE!"

It didn't matter.

Nothing Kyla did or said mattered and it fell on deaf ears.
She was just too late. She’d been floating right there, within a few arms stretch this entire time and there wasn’t a single thing she did right or helpful.

Again, there it was.

That sensation.
Something then turned off like a switch.
She'd been here before. Screaming, trying to help, and offering everything and anything in her power. In the end no one listened, because either she was out of the loop, or simply no one understood her or she didn’t understand.
This feeling of hopelessness, helplessness, uselessness.
Yes she'd been here before.
And she knew what to do about it.
Just tune it all out. Just stop. Just stop trying.

In the back of her mind she could hear Carbuncle trying to stop her from throwing in the towel but Kyla was the master at shutting people out. Even her expressions shut down and she looked completely neutral. Despite the argument which continued, Kyle's raging, and the enviable drive between them. When Kyle finally opened up the channel and sent her a command Kyla didn't respond mentally or verbally, she just did it. Like a machine.

It's ok, I get it.

...even if this is not the real you completely... this darkness comes from somewhere.

...I should have known...

We were never ….

Kyla didn't wait either; she broke off from them and began a speedy swim downwards on route towards Atlantis. Anything they needed could be relayed to her on the way through the charm link. again carbuncle tried to reason with her, get her to slow down at least.
Maybe in retrospect she’d understand. Right now the wounds were fresh again, and the battle wasn't over.
There were too many factors playing a part here. There were so many outside forces messing with everyone’s perception of things. Why was it then that every time she tried to help them it wasn’t enough, and she feel this sliver of self loathing slip deeper inside. Was she never going to be good enough?
Such symmetry.

But it was already too late.

[ Ajora ; Artemis ; Helga : Atlantis : Underground Cavern Opening ]

As the men surrounded him and the entrance, Ajora merely stood at ease, looking over them with apparent interest and curiosity. He went from mercenary to mercenary, always searching for something, his eyes betraying his intrigue. Finally, when they fell on Daniel, he stopped. His smile widened just slightly enough to notice, and for what seemed like an eternity, he never took his gaze of the young man in the suit.

That is, until the bumbling oaf of swordsman blocked his view.

"Drop your weapons and explain yourselves, or we will fire," Helga demanded, her cold voice carrying a touch of venom. She suspected something larger was up, considering the earthquake and their strange attire--especially the strange woman coming in from the shadows now (Artemis).

"Nicholas, pause," Ajora said, his tone as casual as his stance while he lightly tapped Nicholas on the shoulder with the tip of the Trident. The swordsman would have immediately felt somewhat heavier, though he was otherwise still able to move. The white-suited Replica stepped forward from behind him, bringing himself back to the center of their gaze--and aim.

"You'll have to forgive him. He's over-eager and a horrible liar," Ajora said, and before they had any time to figure out what he meant by that, he lifted his left (free) hand up to chest level--revealing what appeared to be a medium-sized crystal embedded in his palm. Without warning, the Trident in his right hand began to glow, and as it did, so did the crystal in his palm--causing a dim glow to emanate from the mercenaries. "Weapons down."

He lowered his hand, and against their wills, all the mercenaries arms were forcefully lowered to their sides, pointing their weapons to the ground--Helga included, though she seemed to put up more of a struggle, and only after a few seconds of fight did she finally holster her pistol.

"Now we can all be civil about what happens next," he mused, a gentle smile gracing his lips as his gaze once more returned to Daniel--whom he had left unaffected by the spell.

"Who are you?" Helga growled; her arms were still shaking with tension as she fought against the Trident's power.

"We are merely emissaries," he explained, only turning to face her as he began to speak, and as he did so, he spread his arms in a gesture of openness and goodwill. "You see, I come with glad tidings of a world made free."

[Dani :: Atlantica :: Battleground]

"Yeah my replica got the upper hand," Dani responded to both Joe and Matthew. As she watched Joe swim off, Dani felt the healing magic of Matthew and moved her broken arm around feeling no pain. "Thank you Matthew I am not in any- huh?" Dani cut off to Matthew yelling and looked around for the cause of his outburst.

"Now what?" Dani spoke worried and looked over to where Kyle and a few of the others were grouping up. "This is either going to turn out very good or very bad." Dani commented but made no move to stop what was happening. 'I mean what can I do? This is their argument, not mine,' Dani thought to herself.

Dani finally paid attention when Kyle asked for something involving water speed. "I am alright now, Matthew healed me of my broken arm." Dani said through the charms while swimming over to Kyle. "I do believe I have something that you are looking for." Dani looked over at Kyle in drive form before using her water magic to cast Water Skis.

"That should do it. Hopefully that helps." Dani said before swimming away to give him some room.

[Daniel :: Atlantis :: Cavern Opening]

Daniel stood with his back to Helga, left shoulder trained on the intruder, right hand resting upon the baton holstered in his jacket. The man wore a crisp, stark white suit and held a gleaming trident in his hands. Despite being at the center of several cross-hairs he stood with such a relaxed posture that Daniel was impressed. The Turk was about to calm down when the man in white scanned the crowd slowely, meticulously until his eyes landed on Daniel.

The moment their eyes locked froze the Turk in place. The intruder smiled ever so slightly then, as if he found what he was looking for amongst the rabble. Daniel's defenses snapped back into place. He did not return the gesture.

What did you mean before? Tell me NOW.

There was a chuckle

Old friends, those like myself, you see? It seems they have attached themselves to others like you. Speak! Speak up, I haven't talked with them in ages~

The swordsman's approach broke the stare-down. Daniel could not help but wonder if this newcomer was one of the others conversing with strange creatures. His own was brimming with excitement but Daniel held his tongue. Despite Zodiark's carefree attitude Daniel could not shake the feeling of incredible danger, like a lowely creature in the presence of a terrible predator. The third person to breach the darkness did not help the notion either.

How many friends are here?

Hmmm? Zodiark acted as if he was paying attention to something else

You said friends. Plural. How many?

There are 3! What are the chances~?

Daniel did not conceal his displeasure. He could handle mercs and the like, but no Turk training covered the supernatural, the magical. The only course of action was to lay low and stay out of the way, an option he no longer had.

"Nicholas, pause," The trident commanded along with the man in the white suit.

"You'll have to forgive him. He's over-eager and a horrible liar,"

At that moment Daniel was glad for the stuffy suit as it hid his pounding heart.

The trident glowed, as did his palm.

"Weapons down."

Daniel almost missed the mercs dropping their weapons against their will, had it not been for Helga's valiant resistance in the corner of his eye. Her struggle attracted his attention for a mere second before it was back on the man. He looked down the length of his nose then, testing his fingers on the baton. He was still in control. He looked back up.

"Now we can all be civil about what happens next,"

The intruder was looking at him again, smiling, and Daniel knew then he was not in control. There would be no fighting, and definitely no winning.

"We are merely emissaries. You see, I come with glad tidings of a world made free."

It's definitely a Monday.

[Kyla: On Route to Atlantis> Spire entrance]

She could almost feel that Kyle was gathering strength- whatever he was doing.

It didn’t matter anymore, or – at least she was convincing herself it didn’t matter. She ignored the fact that there was nothing she could do and that her delusion of trust or loyalty meant anything to the Holy Lancer and that it seemed to disturb her more then she was prepared for.
It was a selfish feeling and she hated it.

He was the one hurting, he was giving into the darkness, he was snapping under the pressure, he was consumed by his inner demons -and there she was sulking like some whiney teenager who just realized she would never be part of the ‘ IN-clique’ like everyone else. She could never be a part of them, not entirely, they were just able to reach Kyle on a level she’d never understand and she was a fool to think she ever did before.

Then how do you explain that night when he came to you?

It was a fluke! Probably just my own imagination! He’s a broken man now, that boy I met in Agrabah is gone. I don’t know that man there.”

‘ You’re jealous. They’re trusted more, he can hear their voices, he reaches out to them tighter, they can peer into his heart and you’re left on the outside looking in on a bond you long for. The problem is Aibou, you’re not willing to reveal yourself to anyone for risk of what they’d find. Bonds like this must be met halfway. Remember what Joe said?‘

Kyla had reached the towering spire which jutted from the ocean floor, whose empty chambers led down into the depths straight to the entrance of Atlantis. There she halted for a moment and glanced over her shoulder one last time towards the distance between her and the others.

’ Is that it? I’m I jealous? Why would I be jealous? Why should I care what Kyle thinks- or any one of them for that matter? ‘

You’re jealous because you care. You want everyone to trust you, to lean on you, to know you’d do anything for them. You’ll lay down your life for them even now- truth is Kyla, you love them all very much. It's not been very long and yet they've inflicted this emotion inside you already. Such an emotion is helpless to what it does and feels. Above all- their feelings can hurt you the most now. Seeing that your affection for them is not received from their end is why your'e feeling hurt. Its kinda like a one-sided love; you can only reach out but you don’t think anyone is going to grab your hand as it extends.

One sides love? A bit dramatic.
Kyla didn’t respond right away, and entered the spires entrance. Pushing her hand upon the bubble like surface that capped the opening she felt her hand slip through like being sucked gently into a vacuum.

So you’ll keep your hand tightly clutched over your own chest.

Are you finished?

….. for now.

… Tyue. Let's say you're right. Then I'm despicable. I'm not the one who's in trouble right now. People are in danger, my colleagues are all messed up, some worse then others. AND on top of that my own personal mistakes are eventually going to come back and bite everyone straight in the a**. I have no right to be jealous of anyone. What it Kyle never recovers? what if Joe gets worse too? What if Noelle relapses? what if Bobbi gets her memories taken again? What if someone else is killed- like Dani? What about James, will he ever come back?..what about Axel and Demyx. I promised I'd help them. I'm being so freaking selfish right now.

I never said humans were perfect. Still- I think you shouldn't depart from this path you've begun. What about Maggie? Jenny? Bobbi? Joe? James?

What about them? Her mental tonality to resemble indifference wasn't going to fool Tyue one bit and Kyle groaned as the creature tapped a metaphysical foot in the backdrop of her minds eye.

"...aaaaggghh- fine. I admit it... I l- like them..

" liiike? Pfff- and it's not just them is it? One by one they're worming their way inside you and you can't stand it can you? Well that's a start.

Hey- I thought you said you were done!!!

Eventually she fell through and upon entry her body or- dressphere changed back to her regular clothes. Inside the spire Kyla would see it was like crystal, or a geode with hundreds of quart jutting out of the walls in a stair like fashion leading down. It didn’t take her long to realize she was not alone inside it either.
“I’m not waiting for you to dance with me.” She muttered as the creatures (( tell me if I need to clarify better)) closed in on her and just stepped over the side and dropped straight down through the middle.
SCREW using the stairs!

Kyle said time was running out. Still she had to keep her more close combat powers at the ready.

With Carbuncle slowing her descent Kyla cast another Flight of Blades around her form and kept Meta Slash at the ready for those which got a little too close and perhaps through her spinning defenses.
Still it was a long plummet down. Long enough for her mind to return back to her fr- colleagues, and hope they managed to save Kyle from himself.

...that a girl.
