I think Paladins are like warriors who use light or healing magic. Like a dual class or a specialization or something. I don't know though.... I guess they can use spears though. Whoosh. Omega will know!

I forget how Paladins are in some games, but I know that in most they're a mixture of a fighting class and mostly clerics, knowing healing magic basically. They're normally tanks, damn good ones, with heavy armor specialization and with two handed weapons specializations and shield and sword specializations.

Paladins are Lawful good warriors. They usually wear heavy armor and have a sword and shield. They get minor healing abilities, and the ability to SMITE EVIL!!!
unless of course you choose to be a blackguard. Who are the polar opposite. Damage abilities and SMITE GOOD!
I mean, they could use a spear, they are holy warriors. But for the most part they are a tank.... and if they change and stop being good then they loose all their powers.....
Spear would be good for barbarian. Barbarians are the kind who don't wear armor, but have a lot of hitpoints, and jump in in a rage, which lowers their defense but raises their attack and damage. So the bigger the weapon for them the better.
So no paladins are not really similar to dragoons..... dragoons are a little too badass....
