[Matthew :-: Atlantica :-: Battlegrounds]

Matt had been taking his assignment to heart since the beginning of the battle. He focused his efforts on the Geists, trying to keep them at the very least driven away from his allies. He had used Ice Spirit to imbue his scimitar, but was more commonly using Aqua Breath to keep his distance. If a Geist started gaining an edge on him, he would use Shadow Stalker to disappear in a cloud of ink, then reappear behind his enemy and assault them.

As his allies' buffs stacked onto him, he began to get bolder and bolder with his actions. When the Geists were a little more thinned out, he began swimming through the ranks of the Heartless. He would use Flight of Blades to send swords flying forwards to impale multiple Heartless at a time. Occasionally he would entangle smaller Heartless he passed in his tentacles and destroy them with Live Wire. He could only do so for so long before he started feeling his energy run out, so would resort to using Osmose on Kinetics and Grimms to quickly replenish his energy.

After another sweep through Heartless and Geists, he disengaged from them and scanned the battlefield to see if anyone needed direct assistance. As his eyes passed over Joe, he saw the Aquatank coming up from behind him. "Hey Joe, behind you!" he shouted to his friend as he barreled towards the Aquatank. When in a close enough distance he used Sonic Blade, closing in even faster as he struck the Aquatank with his scimitar.

[Dani / Ashley:: Atlantica :: Dark Army]

"What do you mean I am going to be your playthi-" Dani shouted before some of Ashley's water came over her mouth with the intent on keeping her quiet. Dani trying to think ahead decided to mentally send what she was looking at through the charms to everyone that was fighting in the underwater war.

"Now now," Ashley shushed before giving her original a smirk " We don't want you running away just yet. All will be revealed in time." Ashley took out her chakrams and spun them around to make sure that they were sharp. "Perfect," Ashley chuckled before swimming over to Dani and coming within inches of her face.

"I have a message for you." Ashley breathed onto Dani's face before making her right chakram dissapear. Ashley moved her hand down slowly to draw out the suspense before gripping onto Dani's right hand and fingers. "Now don't worry," Ashley spoke as she started to sound more demonic "This will only hurt a lot."

Suddenly, Dani was enveloped in a immense amount of pain as she felt like something was being put onto her fingers and part of her hand. Dani tried to call out or scream but the water around her mouth blocked off most of the noise. Her concentration sending what she saw through the charms broke off at that moment for a minute before she reestablished the connection through the charms. When Ashley pulled her hand away after a few seconds there were tattoo markings from where she touched.

"And this is only the begining," Ashley looked at the tattoo proud before resummoning the right chakram. "To think, none of your friends are going to come and save you. It is kind of sad isn't?" Ashley brought up her chakrams as if to strike Dani's arms but decided against it to tease her.

"You have been alone for pretty much your whole life if you look closely." Ashley said as she began to move to Dani's back. "Even after you were given this 'second chance' in this universe you spent 6 days of it alone with only characters and not real earthlings that you know and love." Ashley playfully gripped Dani's back but not enough to draw blood.

"You are pretty much just an abandoned puppy that no one wants because you're a drama queen. It is a wonder how you managed to be picked to survive the world ending after you abandoned your friends." Ashley laughed as she dragged her circular blade across Dani's cheek and watched some of the blood fall.

Suddenly as if the pain and suffering weren't enough for Dani, Ashley made the water around her mouth disappear. Before Dani had even a chance to question why, Ashley had moved some of her water to Dani's right arm and smirked. "Pressure clamp," was all Ashley said before the water around Dani's arm compressed enough to break her arm.

Dani immediately howled in pain as tears fell from her eyes. She ,however, tried her best to keep mentally sending what happened through the charms. "You son of a *****" Dani cursed at Ashley who in turned just turned her head to the side.

"Who better then someone who knows you to give you your first broken bone." Ashley shrugged at Dani before looking at the army around them. "Besides, who is going to stop me? Your little ragtag group of Earthlings won't because of your antics. I bet they are already tired of you and are waiting for you to die."

Ashley quickly scanned the area around the dark army before returning her focus to her hostage. "It looks like my time is up. Have fun with that broken arm drama queen." Ashley then swam as fast as she could out of the army and out of the warzone.

When Ashley was out of sight, the water holding Dani was released leaving her hanging limply in the middle of the army. "I wonder if I should just give up now?" Dani thought as she tried to fight with one hand in the direction that she originally was.

[Kyla: Atlantica Battlegrounds : Above Battlefield w Kyle : ]

Kyla felt the release of the seals like a thread being cut from somewhere inside her, felt it's lingering essence disintegrate into nothing more then an afterthought and now leaving her free to use her mana unhampered.

Now her untapped energy was free to work on the second issue. Her allies!
Kyla wasn’t liking the fact that she couldn’t’ see all her allies as the enemies began to swarm them all on sides. Some the creatures were completely obscuring her friends from view! Not good! Not Good! She needed to see them!
User Image
That’s when the most awful sound came over the channels of the charms, the piercing cry of Dani’s agonized scream! Where?! Where was she?!
Until she could verify a proper location Kyla began targeting where she believed her allies were, and began to whittle down the numbers of those assailing them by unleashing barrage after barrage of heavy fire infused with Bobbi’s Ice spirit.

‘It’s working like a charm Bobbi- here it comes!’ Came Kyla’s delayed reply.

The hail of burning bird shaped missiles fell upon their numerous targets, exploding on impact mercilessly. Hopefully those who felt overwhelmed would find their assailants less overpowering. Kyla targeted large clustered, trying to scatter them and hopefully free up her friends, revealing her allies to her long ranged sights again.

============================

All around Dani the Burn Strikes struck the giests and shattered them like they were made of glass. In their wake was an open space to which Dani could get free or retreat, but at the very least she could see above her the distant speck that was the artist who looked down at her with a sigh of relief too far away to see.
“ There you are…” Kyla breathed.

[Dawn : The Black Pearl : Deck]

Dawn remained silent. Her mind reeling not knowing what to do. Was James free or not. Her heart want to believe he was free. But the nagging voice inside her telling her to not to trust this. This was just another one of Ajora's tricks. She knew from experience that the seal that Ajora was not something to be played with. It wasn't easy to be broken. She had yet to figure out what happened when Louis freed her.

~'You can debate this all day but do something! There is a fight here. Not some sort of film.'~

At that moment Kuro had James on the ground with 'Alex' nearby. In a rush of emotion she threw her tessen, infused with wind at Kuro's head, hoping that the bladed fan would cut his head open.

She looked in the direction at James with a mixed expression that was unreadable. Dawn was not about to be toyed with again. Not by Ajora. Not by anyone.

[Anthony/Lucian ~.~ Black Pearl]

Lucian reached out and grabbed Dawn's tessen before it got a chance to reach Kuro Oni. He smirked at the girl with a smug expression. He lifted the tessen to his face and, with a flick of his wrist, launched the now lightning imbued fan back at the Dancer. After a provocative gesture simulating masturbation and ejaculation, the Replica turned to face Kuro and Alex as they towered over James who was flat on his back.

"Crisis averted," the Fallen Knight said. He paused for a moment, as if expecting some sort of gratitude. "You're welcome, by the way. No big deal. I just potentially saved your life and all..."

In the meantime, Anthony hadn't moved since his encounter with Lucian. Fortunately, he actually had time to lay around and not get attacked by an enemy so quick after getting the crapped kicked out of him. He rolled onto his side as he attempted to get back onto his feet. The pain at his side was too great and all he managed to do was pull his body to a mast and take cover in between some barrels.

Just as he managed to sit up and lean his back against the mast, a strange coolness rushed up the young man's spine, sending shivers all over and causing the hairs on his body to stand. He quickly realized it wasn't him, but the temperature aboard the deck was unnaturally cold as he noticed everyone's, including his own, exhaled breath had become condensed and foggy. The Knight glanced around from where he sat, hoping to find an explanation, but saw nothing outside of the chaos on deck.

[Noelle ~ Atlantica ~ Battlefield]

It didn't seem like the incessant distractions were going to let up. Noelle kept her cool, just trying to take one thing at a time. Her arms began to tremble while pushing against the Grimm's scythe, but she couldn't quit now or she'd be screwed. Prote took to attacking the Grimm's back, also fighting to absorb the heat in the area faster than the enemy to leave it drained. Noelle could see little ice particles beginning to form in the water around her, leaving her chilled. Suddenly, however, Prote stopped attacking.

"Hey man, now's not the time for a break!" She hissed through clenched teeth, locking her arms as they tired.

"But where have you gone? You have disappeared." He replied, glancing around the water where she should have been. There was clearly still a force being exerted against the Grimm's scythe, but nothing there.

Noelle gave him a look (that he couldn't see) like he was crazy. She could see herself just fine. Little did she know, Jenny had cast Vanish on her, rendering her invisible. "What the hell are you talking about?! Kick this Geist's a** before it kicks mine--WHOA!"

About that time, Kyle's attack landed, tossing the Grimm away from Noelle, granting her a brief moment's respite. The agromancer worked to regain her composure, panting and shaking out her arms. What was Prote talking about? She could still see herself just fine.

'Human, a spell has been cast on you, I could feel it. You may very well be invisible.
'Oh, what? Sweet, that would be why Mr. Nasty over there is looking around like a dork. This is a life saver.

Noelle stayed quiet, using the Vanish spell to her advantage and moving around enemies, trying to come up with a strategy against the Grimm. Kyle's page over the charms came in, making her jump a bit.

"Yeah, they're composed of the memories they are given and absorb, no darkness . . . Kyle, you lovely man, you've just given me a killer idea. MUAH!"

"Prote!" Noelle called, giving up her placement. The Grimm responded to the call and moved toward her. "Can you absorb the Grimm? You copied the memories and functions of all the Geist types before battle, but can you absorb their memories to weaken them?"

The Grimm approached, but didn't strike. It wasn't quite sure where to swing. But, as Prote was intelligent and problem solving, so was this powerful Geist. It suddenly pushed it's scythe into the sand. Noelle kept on guard, not knowing what it was doing. It moved the scythe up, scooping the sand and throwing it up into the water. Noelle could feel the sand go over her head and begin settling on her as it drifted down.

'. . . oh wait, he's--s**t.'

The Geist swung at the sand-covered form in the water. Noelle blocked and moved, pressing the sand out of the water and back down with her terramancy. It was a good thing she had earth magic. The Grimm was persistent, though, and continued to shovel sand up into the water as Noelle pushed it down.

"I have only ever been able to absorb lesser Geists," Prote said, catching on to what Noelle and the Grimm were doing and striking where he could, "It would take too long to defeat this Geist by absorption. I could take its most recent memories, though. It would forget it's fighting you and you could destroy it while invisible."

"Yes! Brilliant! I'll take it, gogogo!"

Noelle continued to dodge and weave, giving Prote his chance to get in and steal the Grimm's memories. That's when she started getting images and sounds over the charms from Dani. The small blonde sighed in irritation. She didn't hold a very high opinion of Dani because of yesterday's incident. Noelle blocked the transmissions she was receiving, muttering a small "Figures," as she dodged the Grimm's scythe once more. She needed to make sure she could save her own a** before she could get to helping Dani.

{Kuro Oni ; Alex ; James : Black Pearl : Deck}

The Nightmare Dreadnought's focus had remained on his original. Until Lucian called out claiming that he might have just saved his life. Kuro smirked at that and couldn't help but chuckle. He watched as the fan went flying right back at Dawn.

"Yeah right, a fan from the clumsy dancer? I doubt it would have even cut me," he stated turning his attention to Lucian and then to Dawn. "Seems you have a habit of throwing things at people when their backs are turned."

James had managed to roll over onto his side instead of on his back and continued to try to force himself himself back up to keep on fighting. His mind was still numb to the pain and fatigue. However, his body still responded to it, he was pushing his body to it's very limits and he wasn't even aware of it. As he heard Kuro's words directed at Dawn he let loose what could only be identified as a growl, low and guttural as he finally managed to get back to his feet.

"You leave her alone!" the corsair yelled, a growl still in his voice as he dashed yet again, plowing right into Kuro Oni.

The corsair's dash ended with him driving Kuro Oni into the outside wall of the states room. Tapping into his aggression he then began to unleash a fury of thirteen fast-paced clawing strikes at the replica. If all of the slashes of the Ferocious Arcanum hit he hoped it would finish the replica off.

The Lunar Berserker turned around just in time as James came crashing into him, driving his back into the wall, causing the boards behind him to crack. He had enough sense to put his arms up once again in an attempt to block the furious strikes of his original. Even with his enhanced reflexes though it was difficult. He couldn't believe the ferocity at which his original was fighting. He had never seen it before, he had not expected his original to tap into the same power he had through his black-washing.

Alex was quick to intervene, James had only gotten through about six of his attacks before the unversed closed the distance between them and managed to grab onto the corsair's arm in the middle of a strike and pull him away from Kuro Oni. He took a few of James' slashes as well before he delivered a solid punch right to the corsair's cheek. The move enough to stun James and send him reeling. Before he could get away though the older "brother" grabbed James by the neck and with ease picked him up off the deck and slammed him back down in a deck splintering choke-slam.

"Just stay down already dammit," Kuro Oni cursed approaching James to stand above him once again as he wiped blood from a busted lip off his mouth. "You can't beat us, you never could."

{Bobbi .:. Atlantica .:. Above Battlefield}

Bobbi fired off one last arrow right when Kyle's message came over the charms. She cast a wide-area Blizzard spell in front of and below her to ward off anything heading her way, and swam as fast as she could upwards to get further from the battlefield. She heard Dani's screams from the charms, but was too far away from the kid to do anything. She wavered for a moment, biting her lip, but she made her decision quickly.

Sorry, kiddo, I've got other duties. Good luck.

:I'll try to stay out of harm's way for ya, Kyle. Whatcha need?: she sent back as soon as she'd gotten to a comfortable altitude. Hopefully from up here she wouldn't have too many interruptions.

{Demyx .:. Black Pearl .:. Crow's Nest}

Demyx let the last of the water clones be killed off as he observed what was happening on deck. The most interesting bits seemed to be focused on about-face guy (James) and Tall Dark And Ugly (Kuro Oni). Seemed the one guy was running out of fight, what with getting thrown around like a rag doll. Demyx waited for an opportune moment, then summoned three Geysers around James, one aimed for Kuro, one for Alex, and the other simply trying to open an escape route. If the dude was sensible, he'd take it and am-scray. Assuming, of course, that the Geysers did what they were intended to do, and freed up some breathing room for the Corsair.

[ Riku ; Kuja : Caribbean : Deck ]

Kuja once more remained off to the side, watching, charging magic in wait. The possessed one was getting crushed, but just then Demyx unleashed a number of geysers.

Smirking, Kuja unleashed his spell simultaneously.

"Thundaga."

A barrage of magical electricity bombarded the entire area surrounding Kuro Oni and his wordless minion. Combined with Demyx's geysers (as well as the torrential rain already drenching them), the spell would not only deal greater-than-usual damage, but would have a good chance to Stun them.

[[Thundaga = MS 13 (+1 if geysers miss, +3 if geysers hit), chance of Stun.]]

Riku's eyes narrowed as he watched the Crow's Nest, and the replica inside not get thrown out by the blast--he must have caught it, because it didn't miss. He looked for any trace of movement, and noticed that whoever it was threw his arm over at an angle. Riku couldn't see whatever it was due to the rain (and the fact that it was hyper-condensed air), but knew better than to stay still.

He began to rush up the net, climbing higher (and closer to the Pearl's Nest), but the attack still struck his leg, practically knocking it out from underneath him and forcing him to fall. Whatever had hit him erupted with a small barrage of razor-like attacks, and he ground his teeth through the pain. It wasn't terrible pain--the person wasn't too powerful a mage, whoever it was.

Let's find out.

Remembering the angle, Riku threw his keyblade at the Dutchman's nest, hoping to at least distract the Replica. Without even waiting to see if it caught his attention, he began to scurry up the net again, getting closer to the point where the masts met--

And before the Keyblade would have struck (or passed/been deflected), Riku forcefully jumped off the mast toward the Dutchman's Nest, recalling his Keyblade and striking out at the foe he now saw--Azrael, Joe's Replica.

[ Kyle : Atlantica : Battlegrounds ]

Good, good... let's see how this works, then.

"Bobbi, if you can, make your way over to me. Did you grab ethers before you came down?"

Kyle inhaled deeply before reaching out with his left arm, his palm facing toward the battlefield; his right hand came and gripped his left elbow as he did so.

The massive amount of golden dust above the battlefield began to swirl, looking almost like a spiral galaxy as it began to condense. By the time Bobbi arrived, all of the dust would have condensed into a single speck of blinding light--which immediately (and harmlessly) erupted into a downward-pointing beam of white light. The light struck nothing, harmed no one, and simply disappeared into the ground.

"Place your hand on the large Command Seal on my back," he told Bobbi through the charms, despite her being directly adjacent to him. "If you're even slightly low on mana, now would be a good time to drink an ether, because I'm going to see if I can channel your ice magic via contact, though an Ice Spirit wouldn't hurt our chances."

.:Kyle, even if this works, you've used a substantial amount of mana, you won't be able to hit everything without draining your friends dry.:.

No. This is why I saved him for last.

.:Kyle, no! The risk isn't worth it, the end result--:.

Justifies the means. Atlantis is under siege, Ultima, we have to hurry. Don't worry, I'll be careful.

{Bobbi .:. Atlantica .:. Above Battlefield}

I dunno, did I? Bobbi thought as she sped off to the back lines.

~:Yes, you did. You stored them in the pouch on your quiver,:~ Shiva said. Bobbi reached behind her to bring the storage pouch around front and fish (hehe, puns) an Ether out of it. She downed the gelatinous blue cube as quickly as she could, and the cool minty flavor made her shiver. Spearmint was one thing, but cool mint was just a bit too strong sometimes.

She drew up alongside Kyle and turned to face the battlefield right as his next set of orders came through. She didn't bother wondering why he didn't just talk out loud; thoughts traveled faster than speech, and anyway, he was concentrating on whatever he was planning and probably didn't have much attention to spare to form those thoughts into words.

She did as she was told, placing her right hand on the Seal on his back. She tried to leave herself "open," but she wasn't quite sure how to do that. Something about lowering mental barriers to allow some form of channel or link to forge between Kyle and herself to allow him to use her magic as needed.

:Need me to do anything special? Song and dance, Latin chant, contort my fingers into some weird symbols?: she asked, and though her words were joking, she was entirely serious. Whatever he needed her to do, no matter how ridiculous, no matter how dangerous, she'd do it.

[[??? : Atlantica : Above The Battlefield]]

{{Cue: Dark Ages by Two Steps From Hell}}

Somewhere among the murky underwater expanse saturated with darkness, floated a lone black mass. The object moved without form, shifting and swirling around its unstable core as it moved about. It made no action, simply floated around aimlessly. At last it floated above a group of lone individuals, separated from the rest of the fighting.

Unnoticeable amidst the chaotic battle below, it sank down closer, observing with apparent interest. One glowed with power, his body pouring energy out of his magic veins. The other moved to his side... now was its chance. It's form broke up further, dissipating at last into little more than threads or strands of darkness that moved in quickly.

Like a ghost, it passed through the three individuals, unnoticeable except by the mild chill as though a cold current had suddenly passed through the water. As fast as it had come, the chill was gone. The darkness however was not.

Behind the two, a presence formed, the black shapeless existence appearing again and collecting together into a solid ball that swiftly expanded outward. The growing sphere contorted and bent until the living silhouette of a person with a mer-like tail shaped like a lion fish floated in their presence.

Without a sound it extended a hand outward in their direction. The spines on its tail stretched out as its hand broke apart while each finger became a separate elongated tendril until all shot forward into Bobbi's back.

There was a bite of pain as the darkness forcefully invaded her system before a second later a surge of unpleasant but rejuvenating energy ran through her body starting from her chest expanding outward. The tendrils moved through her, visible through her skin as black veins spreading from her untapped magical circuits.

Before a third second was up, the darkness had already made its way to Kyle's back and his seal, flowing through and into the holy dragoon. The effect on him more apparent as the darkness flooded into his magical circuits, bleeding shadow onto the golden color like ink injected into a tube of flowing water.

The body of the figure behind them glowed dark purple for a moment as its vine-esk circuits lit up, revealing a more defined armored form that quickly spread into the others. This surge was far greater than the last, different in that it was less magical and more a surge of pure, unbridled, emotion given to raw power. The effect would be different for both individuals involved. Shiva, the purest summon of ice, would feel herself self unshackled and driven by the spirit of wild winter, the heartless unfeeling season of cold, void of life, as her ice magic was suddenly driven to her maximum beyond the normal capabilities of her summoner.

On the other hand, Kyle's mind became clouded, while contrarily focused at the same time. Tunnel vision being the best word overcame him, his mind driven to its extremes, logic and emotion, needs and desires, love and hate, all one and the same and directed at his goal and his goal alone.

"Destroy them all"

And just like that, the figure came and went, its body burning up and vanishing into oblivion leaving the two to deal with their new found power and consequential vices.

[ Kyle : Atlantica : Battlegrounds ]

"Just try to channel energy into your hand--"

Kyle gasped for breath as though he'd been holding his own for too long. Whatever had struck Bobbi had made its way into his back, and for a split second, his body and heart resisted, held the darkness at bay.

.:Something must have channeled Darkness through Bobbi, it's surging, I can't restrain it--:.

Don't. It's just what I needed.

The corrupted circuits, which had stopped from the briefest of seconds, converted themselves from ink-black to blood-crimson and once more began to spread through him. It progressed quickly, spreading from his back's Seal around his body, up his shoulders, down his fin and arms, covering his face. Only his eyes remained unaffected, retaining their piercing violet glow.

Instead of appearing as a beacon of sunlight, his body seemed now more like a bloody moon, an omen of ill tides.

.:Hume, you are playing dangerously close to a precipice the likes of which I cannot save you from.:.

What is one heart when weighed against hundreds?

He maintained his position, left arm reaching out with his right hand on his elbow, and began molding his new-found energy into what was necessary. Whatever had caused Darkness to surge through Bobbi into him had also helped establish the connection between the two; Kyle was channeling her Ice magic just as much as he was molding his own. She would feel her mana quickly slipping into him, and if she watched the battlefield, she'd know why.

From the center of the battlefield, where the beam of light had struck and vanished, intricate patterns began to appear, spreading outward. They were ethereal, an eerie shade of indigo-blue, and gave off an odd chill that could be felt by everyone. Those on the battlefield itself would not be able to distinguish the patterns or picture, as they were too close. Those higher up, or farther away, would slowly see the mystic seal coming into focus.

Still, even with the additional mana granted by their ominous patron, it was not enough; the seal could not be finished, and its outer rims looked frayed, waiting, not quite covering the entire battlefield.

Seymour, I'll be calling on your end of the deal now.

.:Kyle, you've got most of it, and it's taking everything you've got just to keep your magic stable. The risk is unnecessary--:.

Do not waste my time, Ultima, we have none to spare!

His mental bark seemed to silence the esper, which was enough for him. His face contorted into an angered grimace as he drained energy from the last source he'd wanted--Seymour Guado.

The glowing scarlet circuits that ran the length of his left hand slowly vanished, disappearing from the tip of his fingers back to the seal on his upper arm. Then, from underneath the cloth wrappings on his hand and wrist, black veins slowly began to appear, spreading through his fingers and slowly up his hand, not quite passing the arm's Command Seal. They weren't like his magical circuits--they looked identical to his blood vessels. The pulsed, they seemed to have a current; the only difference was that they were truly pitch black.

His violet eyes darkened for the briefest of seconds, only to reignite as a familiar, dull yellow.

The massive seal upon the sea floor came to its finish. As a result, the chill that everybody felt would have grown colder. A thin wall of ice began to creep up from the perimeter, translucent and unnoticeable unless you were looking directly at it. It rose slowly, only a foot every few seconds; considering the height of the battle, it would take a few minutes to finish the formation.

.:Kyle, you'll trap them--:.

And finally end this battle so that we can progress to Atlantis.

She said nothing else.

---

"Help."

Joe, Matthew, and Noelle would have heard the faint, unfamiliar whisper in the back of their heads about the same time that they would have felt a slight pinching sensation on the hands that had Kyle's seal still on them. Considering they were in the middle of the fray, it was unlikely that they would see the glass walls slowly encasing the battlefield.

[Joe: Atlantica: Battlegrounds]

The male turned at Mathy's yell. "...Ah." Yeah, that wasn't bright of him, letting an enemy sneak up on him like that. But at least him and Matt could do something about it.

Mathy was using a sonic blade attack, and Joe ended up dashing through the enemy as well in a spiral of wind/current. Once. Twice. Three times they crossed the enemy in an 'X' pattern, the enemy fading into a black smoke...which didn't seem normal. Of course, when the smoke touched Joe, and he felt a familiar coldness, he screamed.

His wind shot out around him, whipping out and striking at the cloud that tried to smother him. He had, on instinct, buffed up his natural wind barrier to make it bigger and with razor wind, the cloud getting severed with ease. Of course, Joe, not feeling the cold weight of what happened to him in the past anymore, calmed down...but his breathing was ragged from the screaming.

He didn't look at Mathy, just...slightly out of embarrassment, not wanting to show his freaking out to him, but...

There was the faintest cry for...something. He couldn't really hear it, but it was there...yes, he could focus on that. Focus on...that's right, Dani. Dani needed help. So he nodded to Mathy, said a quiet "Thanks." and swam off to go help the girl with the chakrams.

[Azrael: Dutchmann: Crow's Nest]

Feh...b*****d didn't get too hurt from that, apparently.

Azrael's staff was in his hand, the keyblade flying at him before going to the left of the replica. Az had struck at the keyblade, sending it off course. It wasn't too hard, with his strength, it just didn't help that Riku was now in his face.

Azrael grimanced as the keyblade and his staff connected in a parry. Apparently, the Keyblader wasn't something to mess with, but...Azrael was wind, and a member of the dark. What was Riku but darkness with a little light? Twilight, Dawn, regardless, they were practically the same in the Replica's eyes.

The fighter smiled at Riku, and then started a dance. Not a combo attack, persay, but he was going to make Riku move, striking at the keyblader and attempting to parry attacks made against him.

[Noelle ~ Atlantica ~ Battlefield]

"Prote, how's it coming?" Noelle called, trying to keep away long enough for Prote to do his work and the Grimm to forget her. She kept her eyes on the two, remarking at how fast they were. She struggled to keep up with the Grimm in her battle, but Prote wasn't having any issue. He was just that much stronger and that much faster.

"Just keep down, I'm nearly through." He replied, his voice forever calm. The Grimm swung its scythe and Prote phased through it, then dashed, pressed into, and passed through the Grimm, stealing more memories along the way.

Noelle tracked their movements, killing Heartless and lesser Geists along the way. Being invisible was spectacular--she was doing all of the attacking and didn't have to defend. Something suddenly felt off, however. There was a change in something, a weird fluctuation that she couldn't put her finger on. She was too distracted to pay enough attention to figure out what it was. Prote was quickly finishing with the Grimm. She could tell as soon as it had forgotten about her because it stopped looking for her. That’s when she made her move. The small agromancer kept her distance, choosing to attack with the sand instead. Discs of sand and stone began to blast the Grimm, flying from random locations and intervals to achieve maximum hit percentage. It was fast and clever enough to block some of them, but when she hit it with multiple at a time it began to miss and grow weaker. Noelle was trying to take it easy on her magic. The battle had the potential to last quite a bit longer, so she needed to keep her energy levels in mind.

Then things started to change a bit. The water was growing cold, and some strange, rather large lines were forming on the sand. Noelle refocused, continuing her barrage on the Grimm. She could see it’s solidity of form begin to falter. With one last push, she intensified her attacks, and finally blasted it into oblivion.

“Yes! Prote, we did it!” Noelle said in triumph, but found that Prote was no longer looking to her battle.

The Geist pointed to the far reaches of the battlefield where the ice was beginning to form. “I have located the source of the dropping temperatures.” He stated matter-of-factly.

“Wait, what the hell? Is that . . . ice? What is that?”

It was indeed ice. But how, and why? Something was still off. What was it? It was something slightly familiar, but still very new to her, like a déjà vu feeling—a sixth sense.

Wait, sixth sense, that’s it--Darkness! Where’d that Darkness fluctuation come from?

Noelle started scanning around, given protection by the Vanish spell she was still under. It didn’t take her long to figure it out. She could see it as clear as day. Kyle’s Darkness levels were running amok, and even Bobbi’s, who was with him. Just what was going on? They were obviously casting the ice spell, but where did that spike in Darkness come from?

“Prote, now would be a good time to clear the area. If you’re caught in a friendly fire ice spell you could be—Ow! What the hell?”

The pinch on her seal-marked hand accompanied by the faint cry for help sent a pulse of panic and fear through Noelle. Something was amiss, and she didn’t like it one bit. She needed to get to Kyle and see what kind of crazy ish was going on. Prote took her advice and quickly moved past the growing wall of ice as Noelle swam for Kyle. The closer she got the more fearful she felt. He looked nothing like before.

’Kyle, what the hell is going on?!’ She demanded over the charms, knowing he wouldn’t be able to see her until the Vanish spell wore off, ’What’s with the screwy Darkness levels, what have you been doing?’
