Amelia swallowed.

"I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help," she breathed. "But, now that I suppose since I already let it slip, I suppose I should tell you the entire story." She drew in a shaky breath. "Sangre... many, many a time... begged us for her to take her life." She gazed at the ground and shook her head. "She... was desperate. She wanted us to take her life. But I don't think - even if we complied - anything we gave her would do any good. She was completely immune. To everything."

"I know you can do it."

Amelia blinked and shook her head violently.

"No, I can't," she replied, taking hold of the other girl's hand. "I can't do that to you, Sangre! I wouldn't be able to live with myself!"

Sangre took Amelia's hand in both of hers.

"Amelia, please..." she begged softly, staring up at the other girl from where she sat on the hospital bed, her arms bandaged heavily along with her throat. "I know you can. You HAVE to. I..." she closed her eyes and bowed her head. Her fingers trembled against Amelia's skin. "I'm afraid... I'm afraid of what's happening to me. I'm afraid... that I'll let people down - that I'll hurt the people I care about, the people I love. I'm afraid I'll hurt them, tear them apart. I'm afraid I'll become a coward, and fail them utterly, in all senses. I'm afraid I'll be weak, that I'll destroy everything they look up to. That I'll destroy them. That terrifies me. I can't live knowing that might happen. You have to do this. Please." Her hands tightened around Amelia's. "Please, Amelia. Help me. Save me."

Raising her head, she stared up into Amelia's eyes.

Her eyes were still dry.

"Kill me."

Tears leaked from Amelia's eyes, and she hastily lifted up her glasses to brush them away.

"I couldn't bring myself to even try," she managed to get out. "Seeing such a strong girl break down, and at the same time not cry... It utterly broke me. That was when..." Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself. Her voice softened. "That was when I vowed that I would do anything to help Sangre. Even if it cost me my job."

My life.

"So please... Help Sangre." She swallowed, interlacing her fingers and wringing her hands nervously. "I'm... sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm not much of a fighter."

That's when the light caught her mouth - her teeth.

They were sharp. As - upon closer inspection - her nails.

She was a lycanthrope.

Kyle had his hand x-rayed and was waiting for the results. His hand was being wrapped in bandages.



Maxwell was teaching his class as usual.

Hanabi began to walk in the direction the nurse had been going.


(( I really have no idea how she's supposed to find them in the basement. ))

Sometimes, when I'm sitting in my bedroom...

All ALONE... in the DARK...

I sometimes look up at the stars and wish I was them.

All ALONE... but in plain SIGHT...

But then I think of something...

Amelia swallowed.

"Sangre's father... had visited her many times while she was in the hospital," she replied. "Because of a request from Sangre's - we never told him that she was seeking to end her own life, but by the looks of things, her father never seemed to care that she was constantly in the hospital." She swallowed again, looking away down at the ground. "While he was here he did very... cruel things to Sangre." She shook her head. "I... it takes a lot... for me to even minimally dislike someone. It's not in my nature to dislike or detest but..." Her eyes flashed with the first form of danger since she had introduced herself to them. "That man... he is the only person in the world that I absolutely hate. With every fiber of my being." Sighing, she shook her head. "But I'm too weak to go against him. I'm only a nurse, working to make the world better through little things. I can't hope to fight him. So I try to help the people who can." Raising her head, she gazed at them, tears brimming in her ocean-blue eyes. "You'll find some way to help Sangre. I know you will."

((Oh, btw, I heard about DoF. Apparently she's having family problems, and she apologizes for the long absence.
See? TOLD you she had a reason! >: D))

It's really strange, I think...

When they're up there...

They're all ALONE. In the DARK. But everyone can SEE them...

It's strange when I look up at them...

Because they kinda remind me of YOU.

"Look at the stars. Look at how they shine for you."

"I pray we can help her," Clara said a bit sadly. She wasn't sure how they were supposed to though.

Yuzuki nodded, feeling sick to her stomach with dread for the oncoming fight she knew they would have. "Thank you." She headed to the exit door and went to Travis' room to speak with Hanabi.

Amelia swallowed, turning back to the file she had retrieved before they had departed.

Opening it, she gazed at Sangre's picture.

"Sangre..." she breathed, gazing at it. Sighing, she closed the folder and held it to her chest. "I hope I did the right thing..."
