"Pad Thai." Mrs Duncan asked Jamie. There were tons of different things. It was clear the woman had been cooking all day because she was excited to see the girl. Espen's sister chatted about the next con they planned on. "So Jamie are you excited for the wedding? Do you need any help?" The woman asked.

The young woman smiled. "Yes, please." She grinned as the food piled on her plate. "This all smells so good." She began to eat. Jamie choked a bit when Mrs. Duncan mentioned the wedding. She smiled sheepishly, blushing. "Actually... I haven't really been thinking about it..."

Espen looked away. He thought it was something that they would plan together. He would just do as they said. "But you have half a year to go before Espen is done with his degree." The woman commented with a frown. "Why don't we plan some things out. We'll need to see about a venue right away." The woman commented.

Jamie glanced at Espen, biting her lip. The only reason she had avoided thinking about her impending marriage was to avoid the stress that came with the planning and such. And now, Mrs. Duncan wouldn't let her avoid it.

Mrs Duncan was a bit noses and Espen came to his fiance rescue. "We want to wait till I get a job and a house." He told his mom. The woman frowned. "Well we can get something like a wedding dress for her. You pretty much have jobs lined up once you're done with school. It's okay to do a little planing."

Jamie bit her lip, smiling a small thanks to her fiance. She stuffed food in her mouth so she couldn't speak.

The woman stopped. She could tell that even her son didn't want to talk about it until he was done with school. "Fine, but come spring break we will be talking about it. No son of mine will be getting hitched. There will be a wedding." The warmed the young couple. Andy was clearly staying out of this one.

Once the family was done eating the girls and their mother cleaned the table to come back with black rice pudding for desert. Espen's eyes went wide. "It's his favorite." The woman commented with a wink.

Jamie giggled a bit at Espen's reaction. She would have to get the recipe so she could make it for him sometime... She smiled at her fiance.

The lady of the family place the dessert down in front of her son before he started to wolf it down. Within a few bites the food was gone and Espen was a happy man. "Thanks mom." He told the woman with a grin.

"Have you guys gone to see a marriage counselor?" Andy asked. "If you haven't I can ask a buddy for a favor. It's a great way to know what both of you expect of each other." The man commented.
