MrToad Mat The Chaos "Gods" are not gods. Just insanely powerful Daemons. The Emporer is not a god just an Insanely powerful pysker. The C'Tan probabley arent gods. Just insanely powerful life forms that over time have consumed enough power to seem as gods Exactly. Only I think the C'tan are the souls of stars or are to the Materium what Daemons are to the Warp - an natural part of the universe. If they were life forms they'd be older than the Old Ones, judging by how much they'd've evolved (not impossible, but... confused ) Actually, I just finished rereading the Necron Codex looking at the C'tan. xd The C'tan are described as being the children of the stars, so they're basically sentient stars (dispite feeding off of the energy of stars, inevitably destroying the star itself). And yes, they were around long before the Old Ones, it's just that their immense consciousness kinda left them ignoring anything smaller than a star. Because of their immense size and the fact that they basically have all the power of a star, when they were put into their physical bodies they were capable of using powers equal to that of the actual gods. It also seemed to say that the Old Ones accidentally created the Daemons. Nothing the Old Ones threw at the C'tan worked very well due to their mastery over technology and the physical world. So it sounds like the Old Ones created an entire race of psykers to counter the technology. It worked quite well until the massive use of psyker energy kinda threw everything in The Warp out of wack, causing the Daemons (who, from the sounds of it, were peaceful beings beforehand) to become aggressive and start going after the psykers. Yeah, that kinda screwed up the Old One's plans. xd @x.Shino.x: Yeah. But only if you could either: A) Deep Strike it anywhere on the table or if B) it had an infinite range on it's Particle Whip.

Mat http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/warhammer40000dawnofwarexp2/news.html?sid=6148650 Dark Crusade Necrons have..... The Nightbringer.... Shudder.... Read the reveiw and watch the video there you will see the malice that is nightbringer. Also note in the Video it shows the Tau which notable I noticed Kroot, Battlesuits, Hammerheads and well im not up on Tau weapons unless i blow them up That is just ******** sweet. The Tau have a character not too much unlike Shadowsun. But ******** ********, it's going to be great. Dang, oh well, here's something else. Quote: THQ spills details on second WH40K expansion Tuesday 2-May-2006 10:50 AM Dark Crusade expanding RTS with two new races, a new single-player campaign and multiplayer enhancements THQ and Relic Entertainment have revealed that the Tau Empire and the Necrons are two new playable races that'll feature in forthcoming Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War expansion Dark Crusade. Dark Crusade, which is the second expansion for the WH40K RTS title, additionally boasts a brand new single-player campaign which focuses on the conquest of a 'meta-map' - each territory captured giving tangible rewards to the occupying force, apparently - and a "greatly expanded multiplayer component and a completely unique economy model for the Necrons". All of which present gamers with the most compelling Dawn of War game to date, it says here. "With Dark Crusade we have taken a very different and exciting route with the single-player game, allowing the player to conquer the globe as any of the seven unique playable races," Ron Moravek, vice president THQ, general manager Relic Entertainment, has added. "The Dawn of War franchise has become synonymous with innovation and attention to detail and we have drawn on the extensive knowledge base that Games Workshop's exhaustive universe provides us with to bring classic Tau and Necron combatants to the battlefield on Kronos." Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade is due this autumn. Makes me wonder if this unique resource system will involve dead bodies and scarabs. EDIT. We have a winner! http://img.gamespot.com/gamespot/images/2006/120/reviews/931664_20060501_screen003.jpg

@ Everlasting Chaos: I was thinking of keeping it as a display model, not for using it, im really good at painting (crons anyway) and I want to get my hands on this model xd . Maybe ill get a Tyranid Bio-Titan just for the heck of it.
OMG I CANT STOP WATCHING THE VIDEO, ITS SO F*****G AWESOME, I CANT WAIT xd . Although it worries me that I didnt see any additional units in the vid or the pics, all I saw where the cron lord, cron warriors, monolith, scarabs, flayers and the nightbringer. What about destroyers, immortals, wraiths and pariahs?

What about destroyers, immortals, wraiths and pariahs? It says in the news article that Wraiths make an appearance, but I've heard nothing about the others. And I think I have an idea about what the unique resource system will be. I think it might be kinda like the Ork WAAAGH, only with souls instead. The more stuff you kill the bigger the units you can make. Also, from what I can get out of that article, I REALLY like what the Monolith does. Assuming my assumptions are right, the main base is what becomes the Monolith. And I'm guessing the main base is also where you build warriors. So yeah, mobile base with massive weapons systems and the ability to pump out warriors wherever you are. Sounds pretty good. xd

I think that would be kinda overpowered, maybe the crons dont get turrets and instead they are intigrated into the base, although maybe it is a moving base. But then that means the crons only get 2 vehicles, the destroyer and the super destroyer stare

And technically they aren't vehicles anyway. xd Come to think of it, that may actually be the new resource system. Necrons really don't have much that would be considered vehicles aside from the Monolith, and if my suspicions are right then the Monolith is just the main base. And secondly, how would they handle the infantry resource? If the Necrons just keep getting back up again do they still count as taking up the infantry slots while they're down? If so how can you build new units? And if not wouldn't that mean you can have an infinite number of soldiers?

the way it works in dow is that if a cron dies and you reinforce them and the dead one gets up it doesnt take squad cap but it joins a nearby squad and you get 11 crons instead of 10 in one squad 3nodding . And about resources, there where some menacing floating black obelisks in the vid, they look like buildings and not background crap

Wait a minute, I'm not so sure just what the super weapon (Squiggoth, Baneblade, etc) for the Necrons will be. The Nightbringer's likely to be the second HQ choice, and it sounds as if the Monolith will just be the final version of the main base. The Pylon may make an appearance after all...

no im thinking that Nightbringer will probley both be the super unit as well as a second HQ choice the pylon seems very unrealistic. Thats like say they are gonna give the Tau the Manta just because their super weapon isnt clear yet. From the way they describe the necrons they are uber but slow

Do you have any idea how ******** big a Mantha is? I guess not. It's simply too big for a game like DoW. A remake of Epic for the pc, okay. The Nightbringer will most likely be the Relic unit for the Necrons, it falls in with the other armies, seeing as the Eldar have an avatar of their butt-faced god and Chaos has a greater daemon of their blood god. Space Marines have their Land Raider (their driving shrine of sorts) these days and the Imperial Guard the Baneblade (The symbol of Imperial might). Orks their Squiggoth, which can be seen as an avatar of Gork. Or Mork. Damn, how did it go again? One hits you while you aren't looking, and one hits you while you are. One is mean, and the other is meaner. Which one of the two gods is the first and the second is unknown. Actually, I wouldn't be suprised if Relic tinkered on something special with some of the GW designers such as Adcock or Jes. Ooh, that would be neat.
