ok, i finally get it working, and what do they do??? detect a trojan on my system that isnt even there and cut me off again!
this is why im looking forward to moving out of uni accomodation

im part of the University network, and they have a few 1 or 2 Gbps connections dotted around campus.
i didn't get cut off the internet, but they disconnected my computer from the network, and said that id have to format my HDD before they would let me re-connect, the problem being that my network connection is my internet connection too
yay for transfer rates more that a megabyte per second, good for downloading, oh yes
