Ambushed because the best course of action doesn't necessarily involve assuming the fetal position and hoping it doesn't kill you.
Which would you prefer? Getting a really bad sunburn or really bad frostbite?

Oh dear lord... Witness a murder? People have to go through therapy for that stuff. I'd suck up and babysit. I babysit my baby brothers 24/7 anyways.

Murderer, because the other side of that coin can still be "self defense", especially with a lawyer like OJ had...(and there was no specification of premeditation or malice, just a nasty term implying it)

be sent back in time to the 16th century (remember, since its a different time period, you will have to make adjustments. You also won't be able to see your family again, because going back to the 21st century is not an option.)
or
live without any money and a severe disability which stops you from getting a job so you can make money.
