Trapped. Cook glared at Kuro. "Alright, that's it! You are both in my kitchen, and in here I believe in True Love winning out. So, you will both enjoy your drinks and, if you wish, share the happy memories or reasons why you, Mr. Butler, love Akito and you, Miss Princess, love your guard. But you will NOT discourage each other, is that clear?"
She sipped her drink, looking at Kuro. "Yes, you might be doomed since you're in love with a younger man. Yes, Helena might find it difficult to deal with our people if she appears to be cheating, HOWEVER, her young man should be showing her his feelings, somehow. Discreetly, perhaps. How do YOU show Akito you love him, hmm? Think about that and, unless you intend to answer me, keep quiet. I'm happy to be there for everyone, but no-one other than me commands my kitchen!"
Martha finished her whiskey and stood, starting to make cookies in the silence.Helena stared at Cook, flabbergasted. Who knew Martha had that in her? So she sipped her drink and kept quiet, trying to think happy thoughts.
"His smile..." The Princess beamed as she murmured it, picturing Troy's secret smiles from whenever they trained and he thought she wasn't looking.

Kuro gave a heavy sigh as he allowed Cook to scold him for being heartless, but it was the truth. At the Princess' mention of what he loved about her lover Kuro gulped the rest of his drink and grabbed the bottle, pouring the brown liquid into the glass for one last drink. Once he began to sip his second glass he could feel all eyes on him as if they were pressing him to share something about Akito. "I don't want to talk about it." he grumbled before standing up and making his way out of the kitchen. He wouldn't admit his feelings for Akito for fear of turning out just like Alaric.

Trapped. Cook rose, patted Helena on the shoulder, then headed for Kuro. "You don't have to talk about it. But here's the thing: if you mess up like Troy seems to be, then you'll still be here. And I am not living in a house with that s**t - excuse the profanity - so either you talk to someone or sort it out with Akito, 'cause he definitely likes you."

Kuro hated it when Cook stopped him, but sometimes what she had to say was helpful. "I can't.....I can't like him...that way. I'm afraid...." he said softly, cursing his every word as they left his lips. He had never admitted his fright before, or any other emotion for that matter. "What if I scare him away? Or hurt him? I can't take the look in his eyes when he sees I'm doing the same thing Alaric tried to do to him."

Trapped. Cook rolled her eyes and slapped the back of Kuro's head. "Stupid man! You are nothing like that- that- him! You need to really look at him the next time you see him. Does he want you to hold him? If he does, it won't be the same thing by any means. You will have to give him time, but when he knows it's YOU, he might be happy about it. You just have to ask him, take notice of his reactions. If he's terrified.... Kuro, he trusts you to hold him, to take care of him. It might make him skittish for a while, but those are memories, NOT your fault."

Kuro flinched and rubbed the back of his head. "You didn't have to hit so hard." he grumbled, though he probably deserved it. "But perhaps your right...." he said softly, maybe all it would take was some time, but he knew if he just placed Akito at arm's length again he would only hurt the boy. That was the last thing he wanted. "Please appologize to Helena for my sudden departure. I'm going to bed now." he said softly before continuing into his room to rest for the night.

Meme woke up the next morning with Rufus still by his side and fast asleep. He must have been exhausted to still be sleeping in this late. Getting up and stretching, Meme straightened his clothes so they weren't so wrinkly when he made his way downstairs for breakfast. Even for nine in the morning Meme was still tired.

Kuro woke up later than he usually did for his job but with the alcohol last night he didn't think he would be able to wake up at the normal time. He quickly dressed in uniform and put together a little tray of breakfast foods for Akito, giving directions to various servants as he made his way from the kitchen to the guest bedroom where Akito was still sleeping. He knocked on the door gently in case the boy was dressing but he heard no reply. Kuro came into the room quietly and set the tray on the little desk inside the room before pulling Akito's blankets back to see his scars. They were healing very nicely and he wondered if Akito would suffer long term scars.

Rufus opened one eye as the door shut behind Meme, gave a groan, and closed it again. He was old enough to look after himself, but if he could get away with it he'd sleep longer.

Akito blinked his eyes open, feeling cold as the blanket was in Kuro's hands. He looked worried for a second, then he smiled widely as he saw it was Kuro. "Morning..." he mumbled, yawning. Then he realised just how naked he was and blushed. "U-uhm, not that I mind you checking the scars, b-but I should probably... find some underwear?"

Meme didn't stay in the kitchen for very long. He grabbed a couple of crescent rolls and headed back up to Rufus' bedroom. Meme entered quietly and set the crescent roll, along with a napkin, on Rufus' night stand.

Kuro shook his head gently at Akito's words. "Don't worry, I didn't see below your belt line." he said softly, placing the blanket over his chest again. "How are you feeling?" he asked, placing the underside of his arm against Akito's forehead. "You feel a little warm, but not feverish..." he mumbled to himself.

Meme smiled at the soft sound of Rufus' voice. "Good morning." he said softly as he sat on Rufus' bed next to him. "How are you feeling? I barely saw you last night, Kuro said you fell asleep rather suddenly." he said, rubbing Rufus' shoulder gently.

"Don't mind the circles. I slept, just not very well." he said softly as he extended one of Akito's arms to investigate the scars closer. They appeared as though they were starting to fester just a little. "I'll bring the salve Sarah made for your scars." he said as he sat next to the boy. "Don't worry so much about me. I'm not the one on bed rest."

Meme couldn't help but laugh a little. "If you need to rest some more you can. You exhausted yourself quite a bit." he said softly as he watched Rufus sit up. "I got you a little breakfast, I didn't know how hungry you'd be so I just got you something small to start off with."

Kuro jumped as the boy tried to leap out of bed. He caught Akito by the waist, not paying his lower half any mind out of respect. "You're not going anywhere. Helena escorted a couple of your siblings here last night but you were sleeping. I had her stay the night with them so they wouldn't be alone." he said softly, placing Akito back in bed. "You shouldn't rush."

Rufus smiled at his laughter before pecking his cheek. "Thank you for the food." The sheet fell away as he reached for the roll, exposing a black-and-blue stomach. It was slightly better than it'd been when Alaric originally punched him, but the bruise was being stubborn.

Akito tried slow his breathing as he blurted out his questions. "Were they alright? Did they eat? Has that man come for the rent? Did they tell you anything?" He closed his eyes. How could I have left them alone?
