Cadaver shrugged, getting into bed. "Who knows?" With that, he fell asleep, oblivious to the note being put on the outside of the door that a man named Brown wanted to see them in the lobby in the morning.
The next morning, all three Trainers coincidentally happened to wake up at the same time. Koras blinked and glanced down, only to realize his mouth was duct-taped shut. He tried to pull it off but couldn't, and immediately started glaring at Cadaver, somehow just KNOWING it was the Ghost user's fault.
Cadaver just gave a sheepish little grin and a chuckle. "What? We sure as hell weren't going to let you keep using your powers after your little revelation yesterday, and this was the only solution we could think of." When Koras kept glaring, he started looking nervous. "Look, you can't speak anyway, you can breathe through your nose, and we both know that you wouldn't agree to not using your abilities."
At that last reason, Koras's expression shifted to a deadpan look that was practically screaming 'Did you try actually asking if I'd agree not to use my abilities BEFORE duct-taping my mouth shut, dumb-a**?' ...In fact, he was thinking it so strongly that Lilian could literally hear said thought, despite the mental barriers.
Cue awkward silence, during which Cadaver's face was more sheepish than a Mareep's and Koras looked about ready to strangle someone out of sheer exasperation.
Meanwhile, down in the lobby, Brown heard a snicker in his mind, causing him to quirk an eyebrow and discreetly turn his attention toward a specially made purple Poké Ball on his waist. 'Something funny, Deus?'
"Just something someone thought," was the mental reply. Brown just shrugged, going back to waiting for the trio to come down; he'd long ago gotten used to his only Psychic-type's odd sense of humor.

(...On a completely unrelated side note, I recently came up with an awesome curveball for the Hoenn portion of the adventure. You will never see it coming... NEVER, I SAY! twisted )

(Nope! All I'm going to say is that you aren't going to find out what it is until the Hoenn Pokemon league.)

Koras calmed down and nodded, though he was still a little annoyed at Cadaver.
"Apparently Koras here has agreed not to use his powers if we remove the duct tape... and is rather pissed at me for said duct tape..." Cadaver answered, chuckling nervously before blinking and glaring back at the boy. "Wait, Lilian's the one who made it unremovable, why the heck aren't you mad at her?!?"
Koras just gave him a look that was obviously questioning the Ghost user's intelligence, getting a snicker from Hellion and an understanding, sage-looking nod from Kitsune, before turning to Lilian and giving her a pleading look, obviously asking her to take the tape off.
Cadaver just sighed and got up, heading to the door and blinking once he saw the note on it. "Huh... apparently Brown wants to see us downstairs once we're up and at 'em." Then he did a double-take and gawked as he re-read the note to make sure he wasn't seeing things. "Wait... what the hell does the strongest trainer in Kanto want with us?"

Koras nodded before gesturing that 1. he honestly couldn't find it in him to get mad at her for real and 2. he wasn't stupid enough to try and get angry at the woman who could kick his a**.
Kitsune nodded in agreement with his trainer again, this time adding a little "Zoru" and nuzzling affectionately into his mate.
Hellion, on the other hand, had gone back to cuddling the Shinies and the Precious while nibbling on the giant fish poffin for breakfast - he knew Lilian could make more of said giant poffin, but since this was the first, he wanted to savor it.
Cadaver shrugged in reply to Lilian. "Dunno, maybe... wait, I could so kick your a**!" He glared at Koras, only for Koras to give him a smug little smirk. "Oh, wait... Meloetta's Normal-type, and you can use Snarl, or could if we let you... crap." He sighed. "Well, anyway, come on - get dressed, get downstairs, meet the guy whose weakest Pokemon could probably beat all three of our teams plus us in ten seconds or less. Chop-chop."

"It's publicly known that he once beat a real Mew once, I highly doubt a mostly-human version or a guy who can't even scratch Normal-types without Curse would be much of a challenge. As for you kicking my a**, from what I can tell you can only use the weaker Ghost-type and Dark-type moves, whereas I have access to Shadow Force AND type-advantage, plus I have more experience on you... meaning you'd be down for the count in seconds." Cadaver pointed out bluntly before turning and heading downstairs, the others following.
Brown smiled when he saw the trio, standing up to greet them. "So, you three are the ones who made that racket yesterday, huh?" He chuckled at Koras's blush. "Yeah, just about everyone in the building heard 'one of your Pokemon' fire off a Sonicboom and blow the wall down." The way he said it made it pretty clear (if only to the trio) that he knew that it sure as hell wasn't a Pokemon that did it, but that he wasn't going to pry. "Don't worry, I paid for the damages for you, and no charges will be pressed, since the incident with the Grunts made it pretty clear Team Rocket was involved somehow." He then grinned. "But enough about that. Now, before we get to the real reason I'm here, how about a Pokemon battle, my single weakest Pokemon versus all of Miss Nonbeliever's here?" He gestured to Lilian, his eye having an amused, somewhat playful gleam to it.
Koras was currently gawking at the amount of info Brown had on them... well, at least they knew the man wasn't a Rocket member, otherwise he would've attacked by now.

Brown sighed before suddenly all three of them were immobilized near the exit, incapable of moving. "Not a nonbeliever, huh? Then did you or did you not disbelieve your friend's statement a few minutes ago that my Pokemon could beat all three of you back to back?" he asked, the cheerful tone in his voice suddenly gone, replaced by pure seriousness. "At any rate, if I came off the wrong way, I apologize - I wasn't trying to be an a*****e nor was I trying to be arrogant. Still, if you want to leave, I won't stop you; however, I'd appreciate it if you took the Pikachu outside with you - I found the poor little guy in an abandoned facility not far from here. Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to, but I highly doubt it has anywhere else to go." Then the three of them were suddenly free to move once more, and Brown had a smile on his face again, though it seemed oddly disappointed and hollow for some reason and lacked the cheerful note it had to it before. "Goodbye... have fun on your wild goose chase." With that, Brown vanished.
Sure enough, there was a Shiny Pikachu outside, staring hopefully at the trio of trainers as they walked by, obviously hoping one of them would take it in, though the droopy ears indicated it was honestly expecting them to ignore it and not bother to give it even a little help.

The Pikachu seemed to perk up when it saw the three of them specifically approach it, watching them hopefully.
Cadaver leaned down and examined the Pikachu with curiosity. "...You know, I'm getting the impression that you are a very strange Pikachu." The Pikachu just blinked and tilted its head, obviously not quite understanding, and the two kept staring at each other. After a few more moments of that unbearably cute, adorable gaze, Cadaver finally sighed in resignation and wordlessly held out a Pokeball toward him. "Just get in the ball..." The Pikachu smiled cheerfully before pressing the button, being captured without a fuss.
Koras, meanwhile, had checked his Pokedex and blinked at what he found, wordlessly showing his two friends.
Gold - Lvl 30 Shiny Genderless Pikachu(?)
Ability: Lightningrod
Nature: Naive(?)
Moves: Extremespeed, Surf, Fly, Electro Ball, Volt Tackle

This Pikachu's DNA shows signs that it was modified on a genetic level. Results include:
- Peak abilities for its level
- Levels of speed that match a same-level Deoxys in Speed Forme
- Abnormal moveset, including moves that a normal Pikachu would not be able to learn and one extra move
- Genderlessness
- Inability to learn any new moves
- Inability to evolve, even when presented with a Thunderstone
- Will not respond to stat-raising items, whether they are temporary stat-raisers such as an X attack, a vitamin such as Carbos, or a hold item like the Light Ball

It was at that point that the newly named Gold came out of its Pokeball, jumping up on its new trainer's shoulder and nuzzling him. "Pika!"

Koras nodded happily, suppressing the instinctive jealousy at seeing his beloved kiss Cadaver's Pikachu.
Cadaver was about to nod in agreement, but suddenly paused, a faint puzzled look appearing on his face as he glanced in a seemingly random direction. "...You guys go on ahead, I just want to check something out..." With that, his skin and clothes disintegrated, revealing his ghostly form once more, and he vanished.
Gold blinked in surprise when it saw Cadaver change like that, but shrugged and followed its trainer in a golden blur. Koras looked a little puzzled at his friend's actions, but didn't pry.
Cadaver soon reappeared outside what seemed to be a wrecked facility of some kind, just outside the city limits, a couple miles away from his friends. Noting how nervous Gold looked as the Pikachu caught up, he used his phasing abilities to take a peek inside the locked-down factory-like building... and paled drastically, coming back out of the building and starting to puke ectoplasm on the ground. "Okay... so whoever did what was in there knows enough about my abilities to know how to get my attention, and obviously hates Team Rocket with a burning passion the likes of which cannot be expressed in mere words," he muttered, somehow managing to look a little green despite being made of a spectral energy.
