"I agree. but after I harvest the gems, I am able to leave this mine... Then the Horde shall face my wrath." Hashmal said, turning towards the tunnel behind her. "Follow me if you don't want to get lost in here..."
Clem gulped, "what could possibly have driven her from the other levels?" Still, he lowered his goggles, relying on the lightstone in them to see.
---
King Malakai wasn't on his throne. He was in a tent that had been decorated in accordance to his royal status, not too far from the front.
Standing over a map, he coordinated the attack on the country of Favraes. He looked up at a royal guardsman.
"Where is my adviser? I've not seen him since the storm broke out, which I'm sure is another Magi attack..."
---
Irwin looked anxiously around the town, "We're probably attracting rumors... we should buy something or rent a room and leave as soon as we can... better tourists than refugees..."
---
Aria, Vinn and Dakon entered a large room, the throne room to be exact. Marble pillars led across a shined, polished floor. the ceiling above arched overhead, with tinted glass to let the light in and keep the sun out. and compared to the desert, this room was much cooler. The throne was rather unimpressive. It was simply a stair with a carved high-back chair, with red cushioning. Seated in this chair was Valthere Sandglider-Ores.
"What do you want to tell me?" Valthere's voice echoed, he wasn't even looking at them and seemed rather bored.

Tanessa just laughed. "They can't do anything to us, Irwin dear. But... I'm more concerned about the international situation. A war... that's bad," the Magus admitted. "What do you think, Cedric? ...Cedric?"
Cedric had wandered off, without the notice of Tanessa. She began frantically searching for him, shoving anyone foolish enough to not move quickly enough out of the way.
"CEDRIC!"
"Indeed it is, Your Highness."
Orrin stepped through the flap, wearing full battle armor. The camp, as it were, was positioned directly outside of the only city in their way to the Favraen capital.
"The city of Dela stands in our way, my Lord, and we need to decide how to siege it. As for the Storm..."
Orrin knelt, thrusting one arm roughly across his chest in sign of allegiance and fealty, before standing again and walking over to the nearest map.
"It was one of the Magi we were chasing. He called down thunder and lightning, and ignited the Storm upon our homelands. He had the help of a scientist, with the technology to block the Magus' mind from our own. And there were Ganzi," he added, showing his own frustration in his voice and posture.
The city of Dela, as the king was already informed, was a fortress surrounding by a river on two sides, both of which were protecting them from Baelta's armies.
On the far side, opposite the Baeltian encampment, were moats, tar pits, death pits, and a mighty drawbridge. Also, on that side, were most of the castle's civilian structures. There was no way in, and the nearest river fording area was many miles in either direction.
"They have Magi as well," Orrin told Malakai, referring to the city of Dela. "They've also called for reinforcements from Dejavaru, to the west, and from the capital, to the south. We shouldn't expect an army from Dejavaru, however, as it is held by a rebel force at the moment. Favraes is still in the midst of civil war."
It was decided. Helenne would marshal a small force of trusted men, and ride east. They would send no army; they couldn't afford to, but the outpost of Dejavaru had to help their countrymen however possible, regardless of the feud. It would take some time for even a small company of riders to reach the capital, however.

"I see." Malakai said, looking at the strategic counters on the map.
"Trebuchets. That's how we'll deal with the defenses... for the Magi... We'll need our mindbreakers with the greatest range to take them from a distance... After that, we move the catapults to these locations and hit key buildings in the city. we want this city as out base of operations, so we'll need a hole for us to go through that we can repair easily. The fact they're in a civil war makes this the perfect opportunity to take the most territory. They may have soldiers, but we have every man able to hold a sword from Baelta. We outnumber them at least a hundred to one... We'll take the siege tunnelers and dig under the wall, while we use our weapons we've had in development..." Malakai was referring to the steam tanks, massive metal monsters with cannons built into their bodies, they were unlike anything ever made. The metal behemoths needed only water and coal to work, and they would no doubt spread fear with their near-invincible hides.
"The builder's guild will be constructing a bridge at this location to make a straight land path for our forces. Longbowmen will take up the river edge and shoot at enemy troops. The cannon brigade will then smash apart any opposition... The cavalry will go around, they're much faster, and they will attack in close combat. The guardsmen will use a ferry, which we will construct with the wood from the forests behind us. A full scale assault like this will be far more than they can handle, since no country has ever fought with it's entire population before... Women and children will stay in this area, designated as our field hospital. Now, is there any flaws in this plan?"
(All medieval weapons are used for this assault... The steam tanks are possible, due to Malakai's pressed research into science.)

Irwin ran after her, "Does he do this often?!"

((Muskets and steam cannons? This is not steam punk (see K-JAG's RP for more information on that). No muskets. Archers and crossbowmen are the ranged soldiers here.
Have you ever played Stronghold, Crusader Stronghold, or Stronghold 2? The first is a great game, getting progressively worse from left to right. Full of all things medieval, an RTS game and it (Stronghold) is great. I know much (relatively speaking) about medieval warfare.
As for the steam cannon... I'm a little iffy about that. Is it like the ones in Avatar?))

In the 1500s, there were firearms, however, they were rifles that were unwieldy and less efficent than swords. The musket was in the 17th century, around the time where jousting was more of a sport. I have a book on this that I break out whenever I have to argue on this stuff... Guns were around at that time... they were just more popular in China. (Which was using guns in the 800's!) )

((No! xd you used a one-liner! Bad things happen to those who use one-liners in my RPs! rofl ))
Suddenly, a huge boulder dislodged itself from the rocky ceiling of the cavern, far above, heading quickly, straight down towards Farfarello's tiny (by comparison) head.

((...)) ((Aah, well, what can I do? You're the GM!))
Farfarello latched himself onto the wall and climbed with inhuman speed to avoid the rock. He was beginning to think along the lines of Perrault; I hate this place!
