CavDirshel Yahiko_Meoshine Ya' like those Heavy Bolter and the dual twin-linked Lascannons? Nah, I'm talking about the twin Assault Cannons, Hurricane Bolters and the Multimelta... now that's infantry doom right there... especially when you have a Terminator Assault Squad or an assault equipped HQ in it. yeah, and just shred them to bits!!

You forgot the Frag Assault Launchers... and that's exactly why a lot of people regard the LRC as being downright cheesy- because it can obliterate entire squads without anything being mounted in it- and whatever is in it gets a free set of Frags, even if it wouldn't otherwise get them. Personally, I regard them as needing a close encounter of the meltagun kind...

I finally got me some more scouts. Snipers and one with a missile launcher. y'know, I noticed something. People doing all of these "cheap HQ" to get expensive units of tanks into 500 point matches... They don't do the BEARDIEST thing. To be beardy, 2 5 man standard scout squads, one captain with no wargear. That's the cheapest they can ever get. 190 points spent on the minimum, leaving all the rest for the other nonessential parts. But no, I arm my scouts with sniper rifles. This way they cost a fraction more than a marine, but do a damn better job... and arming ONE with a missile launcher greatly improves their defense against tanks or lightly armored vehicles.

Especially since you play Blood Angels. Scouts joining the Death Company actually get _upgraded_ to power armor and jump packs. Although a DC Chaplain would probably be better than a Captain, wouldn't it?

They lost their edge.

Once I get the money, I'm going to buy two Command Squad box sets- one for use as my evil apothecary's retinue (as well as providing some of his bitz), and one for use on Aspiring Champions.
BTW, take a look at the command squads shown in the latest Black Gobbo- one of them is a Chaos Lord's retinue! blaugh
