Cecelia watched with trepidation at Ratchet. She hadn't know him for that long, but it was still weird to see him like that. This couldn't be good. What was happening? They see saw it as she looked up. Clouds. Real ones and the stirring waters. The wasn't right. Wasn't natural It sent tingles across her scales. She swam toward the two on the shore, but Silvia was already dragging the scientist to meet her. Without a word, Cecelia took Ratchet other arm to help Silvia hold him up. Then she grabbed him and kissed him. She waited for the transformation to set in. Once he was safe from drowning, they dived to the safety of her home. "It seemed you'll be staying the night." she observed seriously.

Lady Aryana of the Seelie Once Ratchet had become a merman, both Cecelia and I hightailed it back to her little place. I settled him down in a separate room, on a bed. There was still the tug of the crashing waves, but hopefully it wouldn't get too bad in here. The most that was happening was our hair swishing back and forth.
Yeah, until this storm calms. I said, peering through a hole that let in light. It was now dark in the room, and I settled down onto the table like platform. I wonder what's causing it...?
Before all this happened... What were you going to say?

Cecelia was looking up through her small skylights. She wondered if she shoved rocks in there, would it help protect them from currents better? It was an idea, but she didn't want to put any scraps or gouges in her ceiling. "What?" she asked, turning her attention back to Silvia. "Oh yea. I was wondering if you had a chance to read anything more out of the book? More information about us?" she asked, swimming back and forth in an underwater version of pacing.

This dream felt so vivid. It was like she was really there. The sounds of the rainforest echoed in her ears, the moist heat and the smell of tropical decaying leaf litter mixed with that of greenery and flowers. She could feel the sleek stone against her bare skin and scaled hide. She could see everything in startlingly sharp detail and colour. Helena suspected that it wasn't an ordinary dream but a vision. No dream was this real and tangible.
When her son appeared in the temple's grand entrance, she had begun to smile in greeting until she saw what he was dragging into the throne room and she uttered a soft gasp, scenting something odd; magic mixed with traces of canine.
Her serpents rose and scrutinized the scene before her, their tongues brushing the air as they tipped their heads this way and that, getting a good look at the unearthly red vulpine with its multiple tails. Helena looked at the creature's body language, its gentle gaze. Without looking away from it, she spoke "My sson, it iss good that you bring thiss creature to me. However, it iss not wisse to judge on appearancess only. The jungle iss not jusst for our kind, but for the animalss asss well. They are a** much a part of it as we. Thiss creature that wasss found, hass it caussed harm, given any reassson for consssern? Hass it ssspoken of itss intent in our landsss? It may come with peaceful intentionss or ssimply have sstrayed into our landss by misstake," she advised. Helena, no...she sensed that this was not her name in this vision. The queen...whose name eluded her at present, studied the fox with a searching gaze while she spoke, prodding for answers from their intruder. Though she and her kind possessed the fearsome stone gaze, she always encouraged it to be used as a last resort - a defense only.
"Thiss one, after all, iss not a human, like thosse who have been pesstering us as of late. Perhapss it offerss uss aid?" she queried, and her serpentine tongue slithered over her lips, slowly tasting the scent of the captive. "Sssuch a remarkable colour," she murmured. 'It would be sshame to lose sssomething ssso pretty" Ah, yes, the queen did have a weakness for pretty things.

Lady Aryana of the Seelie Well, no more then the memories of the sirens The Traveler encountered... or are you talking about everyone in general? I said, swirling my tail about. Would you like to hear about various things I remembered the Traveler doing, that the book's memories describe to me? I asked. The fox looked up at the queen, with a confirming look, before it's eyes squeezed shut for a moment. For a long moment, the creature was engulfed in bright violet flame, vanishing from sight in the shimmer of heat.
Re Sthart hissed, but did nothing as the flames did not seem to attack anyone.
When the flames died, the fox was replaced by what appears to be a young human woman, with long straight crimson hair, wearing dark armor, with a pair of bright blood red fox ears and nine tails tipped with black. Her features were gently round with almond shaped peridot colored eyes.
Are you the Queen of the gorgons, Cobra-Denka? She asked, bowing forward with her hands together. She spoke quietly with mush respect in her voice as her tails settled behind her. As she had not been introduced to the queens name, she simply refereed to her as Cobra...

Cecelia nodded. And settled herself on the floor by the rock table. She ran her hand over it. "Yes. I would love to hear. If you aren't too tired." she replied.

Ratchet had no idea what was going on, or even the fact that he had become a merman. Nothing but darkness was all he saw. Within the darkness stood a shadowy figure.
Wake up...It's time for you... the figure called out.
"Wake up? What are you talking about?" Ratchet asked the dark figure.
It's almost time...if you dally anymore...let's just say it's not good to dally. You need to wake up...
Confusion and anger swelled in him. "No! Go away I have no clue what you want from me!! If you're the cause of my odd emotions I want you to leave!" he demanded.
Stubborn boy! How blind you are! You need to wake up and accept what's going all around you. Ratchet, the chosen ones need you...wake up...waaake uuuup...
The voice and darkness faded. Ratchet suddenly sat up in a jolt. His head pounding he placed a webbed hand to his...face? Wait a minute since when did he have webbed hands!? Looking around he found that he was in some kind of dense substance.
He had to get out of where he was, moving he found that his legs felt stuck together, that's when he noticed his emerald green tail and stared at it with shock. "W-What's going on!?" he stated in a more manlier voice. Eeeping he clasped his hands to his mouth.
His ears looked pointed and even though he was still wearing his vest, Ratchet suddenly looked more muscular than before. What freaked him out the most was that he could breathe. He was underwater and could breathe!?
This was all some funny dream right? Ratchet hadn't performed any rituals himself so why was he suddenly aquatic?

Lady Aryana of the Seelie I smiled and settled on the table. Now that I thought about it... I wonder if I could do a trick the sirens had taught the Traveler?
I looked around, and I saw her hard. I floated over to it, my fingers hovering over the slightly embellished harp. May I? What better way to tell a tale of sirens then to do it the siren way?As Ratchet got more and more confused, his mind felt more and more fatigued... like it was filled by television static... He was very hungry now and very tired. He did hear voices in another room, however... It sounded like Cecelia, and a voice that sounded very much like Silvia's, talking.
Up above, the waves and storm thrashed the room harder...

With a reassuring look towards Re Sthart, she subtly moved her banded coils away from the violet heat as the flames danced to life. When they had cleared, she smiled benevolently upon seeing the young woman. The gorgon was pleased with her tone and her show of respect. Not to mention that she was quite the lovely item to behold. The snakes that were in her hair looked at the woman this way and that, craning towards her curiously.
"I am ssso" she replied humbly, with a slight nod of her head and a chuckle at the title she was given.
"I believe there may be much trouble if I were sssitting upon thisss throne and thingsss were otherwisse. You may refer to me asss Ssarakssshi" she told the woman graciously.
"I musst assk you to forgive my ssson if he hass done anything to causse an offensse to you. Pleasse, sspeak freely. For what reasson do you grace uss with your company?" she questioned, gently petting her snakes as they hissed and whispered to her.

Cecelia followed the woman's gaze to the harp she had placed on one of many shelves. At first she was instantly averse to letting her play it. It was her treasure. One of her only possessions. Then she took a deep breath, she wasn't going to be rude and it was only this once. "Very well. Can you play?" she asked with half smile.

Lady Aryana of the Seelie I can try. I said. I reached out and gingerly took it off the shelf.
I felt it pulse and glow with power under my hands. It was like my little ball, but tied to Cecelia. It held part of her power... I must be gentle with it.
I cradled it to myself gently.
Cecelia, meanwhile, saw my eyes alight with flame. But not the flame of the Kistune, which was a bright violet... nor regular fire, which was gold, orange, and red... but a very pale blue, so pale it was almost grey... She somehow knew this wasn't a siren trait...
I started to pluck the strings of the harp, nimbly and without pause. I closed my eyes and swam to settle onto the stable the way I had been before, my fingers moving as if possessed...
As she listened to the music flowing from the harp, she found the world fading out from her vision...
She found herself swimming free among the waves of the Mediterranean. She was with a group of other siren girls, with pretty colored tails and long glorious hair. She held her harp, which was made from bone and studded with swirling patterns of pearls, close to her as she swam.
They were looking for something. The waters were oddly chilly this day, and they had swam around the Isle of Minos at least three times, singing songs to attract the large bull people which they loved to tease with their songs... However, no one emerged from the labyrinth island to listen today... Very well, Sarakshi-Denka. I come to warn you of disaster and doom. She said, looking down. I have visited many places, and various peoples. Every people I have encountered has died of disaster, followed strongly by the scents of magic... Including my own. I believe we, the supernatural creatures of this world, are being hunted. But by who, I do not know.
And how do we know that you are not the one trying to bring ssuch desstruction? Hissed Re Sthart. How do we know you not are ssimply lying to gain favor and sshelter?
You will have to trust me... Please.

Ratchet felt like someone had stuffed his head full of cotton. This wasn't normal, of course suddenly waking up as a merman wasn't normal either and while he heard the voices he began to try and move. Just as Silvia began to play the harp he swam up and with the power of his tail rammed the top of his head onto the ceiling.
Wincing he rubbed his sore noggin as he began to try and move, only to crash right into a wall. How the heck did Cecelia learn how to swim so fast? How could anyone really move like this? Having your legs forced together was kind of annoying. At least for him anyway.
Taking a deep breath he floated there and began to slowly leave the small room he was in. Ratchet wasn't moving his tail that fast to he crashed right onto the floor near the girls while Silvia was playing. He was now annoyed, strangely craving something very meaty, tired, and fatigued. Laying there he looked up at them with an expression that held a sort of "I give up." look.
Pushing himself up Ratchet was able to at least sit on his tail. He felt like such an idiot. He was about to speak but the women both seemed lost. Wait there were two sirens!? Realizing the one playing was Silvia he stared at her with shock. He didn't want to interrupt them so he waited and instead tried to ignore the pretty, yet haunting, song she was playing while looking at his scales.

Hearing someone nearby, I turned my head as I played to look at Ratchet. He was laying on the floor, unused to the powerful tail he had gotten upon Cecelia's kiss.
Welcome back to the land of the living... you were comatose there for a while. We heard you shouting and then found you out on the beach. And, strangely enough, we also saw massive waves forming and a storm brewing near the ceiling too... We had to get you to safety or you would have been bettered to death. I said. What happened? Why were you shouting? What's wrong?
I did not stop playing as I scooted closer to him with my tail.
~~~
Ratchet noticed as Silvia inched closer to him that her eyes were alight with pale blue fire that looked almost grey.... something told him it was not a Kitsune trait... Nor was it a siren trait either. It was something completely different... Every time she blinked they would flare with it, go out, then alight again the moment she reopened them. It seems cause her no pain, infact she doesn't even seem to be aware of it...
He blushed. So Cecelia had kissed him? " Well it looks like what you said about Sirens were true Silvia, thank you. I'll thank her once she snaps out of whatever she's going through." sudden concern filled his heart as he watched the Siren. So there had been waves and powerful storms? Strange...very strange. Looking at Silvia he noticed the flames and bit his lip. He could feel it, something inside of her was awakening as well. Ratchet didn't want to look but he couldn't pull his eyes away. " I..don't know. It's going to sound really odd but..I was uhh making a sand castle that somehow had become a tower. I then looked around me and noticed I was some place else. Before me were two large kitsune. One was red and one was gold. Before me were a couple fox kits tumbling around. I was happily petting them and chuckling. Deep concern and careing filled my heart then...overwhelming grief as I was suddenly back in Cecelia's room." he explained sounding pained. Looking away he placed a hand on his chest and sighed. " My emotions have been everywhere lately. It honestly all started after Finita had performed the first ritual upon herself. There was always this odd nagging tug and it grew more annoying with every ritual and explanation you read. I don't know if I'm just really tired or stressed or what! But, I hate it. Normally I'm calm and collective but I can't even focus. S-Silvia..you know what's wrong with me..don't you?" he looked up into her eyes again. They sparkled with an all knowing gleam. " Tell me what's wrong with me honey! This pain in my heart is driving me mad!" Ratchet pleaded.
((Don't worry, I remember how this goes! Disaster does come upon them, evidently cat_sweatdrop )) The queen gorgon listened to the tidings of disaster with a twisting feeling in the pit of her stomach, concern for her people filling her heart. She was saddened by this news of other races being wiped out and also frightened by it. Magic and an unknown enemy were grim tidings indeed. The gorgons were such a reclusive and peaceful people, preferring to mind their own business. There was no provocation for such violent actions. And yet, they had been suffering attacks from humans lately.
Yet she was careful not to show her fear. Sarakshi kept a straight face. After all, she didn't know whether to believe this stranger or not. If she believed every doomsayer and fortune teller, that would be to her detriment and that of her tribe.
Her gaze shifted to her son as she considered what he had to say.
"I wissh to trusst but pleasse, undersstand that I cannot do so blindly. Thisss iss a good quesstion, my Re Ssthart. If she doess lie, what harm shall come to uss? There iss but one of her and many of our people. What reasson would she have to lie?" her final words were slow and deliberate, her eyes searching as she turned her golden orbs back to the red haired female, to meet her soft green ones.
"Pleasse, tell uss, if you sspeak in truth, how may we avoid thiss danger and how may we defend ourssselvess? My people are sstrong and clever, they will be ready to fight to the deathhh should I assk it of them. But firssst, I musst have a reasson to trusst in you and your word. A misstake could cosst everything that iss dear to me". The end of her tail slithered over her son's; a caress much the same way a mother would stroke her child's hair or pat their shoulder.
