The giant returned the mug to the kitchen, and returned himself to his own quarters for some quiet meditation. It was good for clearing his mind, but he could only do so much when thoughts of a miserable little organization member intruded upon his emptiness.

After some time Lexaeus returned to the musician's room to check up on him. It never hurt to check on little things, just in case they needed anything. He avoided the creaky floor board and strode to Demyx's bedside, noticing at first glance that the small angelic didn't look very well at all. With one giant paw he carefully brushed the bangs out of Demyx's face, and checked his forehead for a fever.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The little one was shivering even underneath his covers, the result of a rather nasty fever. The paw on his forehead woke him from his slumber, and with a sad little whine Demyx's green eyes fell open.

"...L-lexy?"

The only indication that Lex may have noticed something was wrong was a slight, almost imperceivable furrowing of his brows. He pulled his paw back when Demyx woke up, but he didn't try to smile to reassure the little one, it might have just plain scared him.

"Lie still."

He knew some things about fevers, mainly from listening to Vexen's rantings about test subjects, but he would probably be a better choice for taking care of Demyx than the scientist would. No, it was definitely better for him to take care of the second in command on his own.

"K-k-kay..."

Still shivering, Demyx snuggled a bit more into his pillow before lying still. He was perfectly content having the huking Organization member care for him. In fact, despite Lex usually being rather...silent..., his mere presence made Demyx feel safer.

Although he knew Demyx wouldn't like it, Lexaeus had to leave the room again. This time his goal was a bowl of lukewarm water, a soft cloth, and a glass of water to keep the little angelic from getting dehydrated. Hopefully Demyx would follow his instructions and actually stay put until he returned.

Once Lexaeus had acquired all the necessary items, he returned to the musician's room and set them on the nightstand.

The giant pulled a chair up next to Demyx's bed, a chair that looked marginally smaller in his presence than it had standing by itself off to one side. The cloth he dampened in the lukewarm water, and then gently dabbed it against the little one's forehead. It would help lower his temperature without aggravating his shivering.

Demyx gave a few confused blinks at the cloth suddenly being dabbed against his head.

"L-lexy?...Whatcha doin?..."

"You have a fever."

Lexaeus didn't explain further, unlike some other organization members he believed the second in command was fully capable of reasoning out things on his own. Maybe he needed a hint every now and again, but he was not a complete idiot.

He paused once the fur on Demyx's forehead was slightly damp, and just for good measure, he wiped the damp cloth across the little one's muzzle.

The sitarist gave a small giggle as the cloth was wiped across his muzzle. It was a hint towards his usual self, but it wasn't too long before he went back to looking miserable.

"S-sorry you have to sit here with me..."

Lexaeus just stayed silent. Although he had no idea if he was following the proper fever-lowering procedures, Demyx seemed to like it, so he was inclined to do it again. The giant was careful as he wiped one cheek, and a black furred ear.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Well, Lexaeus didn't seem too distraught by the idea of sitting with him for a while, so Demyx stopped worrying about it. As the cloth wiped across his ear, the sitarist gave it a twitch.

"That feels kinda good..."
PostPosted: Fri Jul 06, 2007 8:37 pm

Lexaeus probably didn't need to be told, since he could see it from the little one's reactions. He wiped the cloth over Demyx's muzzle again, trying to keep his strokes following the same direction as the fur.

"Try to sleep." He said simply. Rest would be good for the angelic.

Demyx whined at the suggestion, but soon calmed back down from the cloth strokes.

"I don't think I can sleep anymore Lexy..."
