Zephyr made a soft rumbling noise, lowering his head again. He knew what Yami was saying was indeed true and he believed most of it, except the part wher she said that they were evil. He wasn't, was he...?
"I kill to survive, and because I enjoy eating meat - but all predators do that." He tilted his head. "But that doesn't make me evil, does it? What is your definition of evil?" He grunted. "I don't think you're evil. You are the same as I am - you hunt to survive. But you seem are far less easily angered than I am."
He sat on his hinds again, idly itching at his side. "I'm not sure if I understand..."

"Hmm...." Yami muttered, thinking about what she had said. "Perhaps, evil is too strong a word. But we do enjoy what many predators do enjoy, which is beyond what many kitsu prefer to do these days."
She stretched out on the ground, her claws in front of her, one over the other leisurely. "In any case, some may consider us evil. But as you say, we are as we are and that is all. I just... live. Anger does not much felt by me, I do not know why. I'm just rather calm."

"Evil is too strong of a word I think." Zephyr sighed, laying down nearby her with a loud thumping noise as he slumped against the ground. "But being a predator is genuinely fun. To drain the aura out of things for eating purposes is necessary, but it's also fun to do. I don't think that makes us bad though."
"I think..." He began. "I think I'm beginning to take the stance that there is no good or bad, only the way one perceives things." He flicked a tail, seeming to be pondering for a moment. "Says the mouse of the cat, you are evil and you slay my family. To the cat, he's just surviving."
"We are as we are...." He repeated her words aloud slowly. "Never a truer word was spoken, Yami. I really do wonder how your ideals came about, and I suppose I will ask you about that right now." He rested his chin on his paws, the closer ear attentively raised towards her. "Mother's came through being shunned, Adjo and Charna's came through their peace-keeping desires and caring family. Mine came through my mother's, but I question half of the things she says."

Yami shrugged. "I do not know why I say the things I say, nor why I feel that way... I did not have a mother. I just came into being, as it were." she explained, sniffing the air briefly. She was growing bored with the talking and not moving much. She was sorely tempted to go on a hunt.
"Care to hunt with me?" she asked Zephyr.

"Hunt?" Zephyrizon's ears perked up at the thought. Hunting was always something he had fun with and genuinely enjoyed doing. In a heartbeat, he was on his feet again, tails wagging. "Of course. What's your hunting style? Taking the head-lead and charging in, or being the one who paces from the sidelines and side-swipes inwards on the prey?"
He tilted his head curiously. "You just... came into being? Maybe that happened to me - I never knew my biological parents. Mother doesn't know who they are, either. She found my egg in the late spring, in the Mountain caves."
He squeaked finally, motioning ahead with his snout. Although, the gesture would have been completely lost on Yami as she was as blind as him.
"Lead the way. I'll be able to follow your aura easily." He grinned. "I'm not that brilliant at hunting, but I'll try my best."

"Perhaps....." Yami pondered, but then raised her nose again and sniffed, trying to find the source of something yummy for them to hunt and devour. It was getting late and she for one, was getting hungry.
"This way...." she said, finding a good hunting ground by the scent. She lead the way and headed toward a meadow that was near a forest, so if the meadow had little to offer, then at least the forest would be a second option.

Zephy trotted along after Yami, ears raised high, attentive to the area around them. He 'saw' nothing of real food value, but continued to follow, curious to know what the female was up to, exactly.
"That'a way, huh?" He said in a low voice back to her, sniffing the ground by flicking his tongue at the grasses. He could smell no food just now, but Yami's scent was very detectable in the air. It intruiged him.
Soon, at the edges of his sense-distance radius, a glowing blue shape appeared. He made a low squeak and licked his lips - it certainly seemed big enough to make a good meal.
"Is that what you're hunting?" He asked finally, still speaking low, his voice barely a whisper. "About 40 to 60 paw steps ahead, off to the left?"

"hmm hm...." Yami hummed softly, nodding a bit, more or less to herself. She could smell it ahead, and it was good. A boar, maybe. Her personal favorite, it being large and quite filling. Normally for one, but she would share if Zephyr helped to bring it down.
"Stay sharp... If it's what I think, then it will move quickly when frightened. But fear not, it's clumsy." she advised, pausing to explain.

Zephyr crouched low in the grass behind Yami, nodding back in response. He kept his attention on her, tongue flicking out of his mouth as he tried to best assess the situation. Yami seemed intent to take the head-lead in the hunt, so that had already determined his postion - the backup.
"It seems unintelligent," He responded quietly. "We're making a lot of racket and it hasn't noticed us. Although that might have something to do with us being upwind from it."
He wagged his tails, rising onto his the balls of his feet as if ready to pounce.
"I've got your back." He said finally, broadly grinning, teeth bared. This was going to be fun.

Yami nodded and smirked, crouching down and preparing for the sprint across the meadow to where the boar was. It was a large male, so it would have lots of muscle. Quite the target, and hard to resist.
Suddenly she sprinted off through the semi tall grasses, keeping her senses alert even though she couldn't see her target. She just knew where it was. She could hear Zephyr moving silently behind her, which as good. Just in case the large boar did pick up her scent or see her, he would have another line to deal with.

Zeph kept his ears high, bounding off after Yami a moment after she took off herself. He trailed her lead, following alongside her at first. Then he suddenly broke away, widening the gap between them to form a running arc, eagerly watching the boar's aura shape. It seemed big to feed both of them, and well worth persuing for a meal.
If Yami would charge straight at it, he could sideswipe it and that was just what he intended to do. He made a loud 'yaff-yaff'ing nasaly sound in an attempt to draw the bull's attention his way.
"Charge it!" Zeph called out to Yami, gleefully, before moving in himself for the kill.

Yami nodded, she understood what he was trying to tell her to do. And it was a good lively plan. She quickly ran at the boar now that it was between them, be it that they were quite some distance apart, she knew he could do what he intended.
"go!" she shouted, making her way away from the boar to allow Zephyr his opportunity to sideswipe the creature.

"Right!" He nodded.
Zephyr charged in for the kill, powerful long legs propelling the blind predator forwards with immense speed. He figured that this was an opportune time to impress the female, and he fully intended to try.
The boar didn't have a chance. At the last moment of his run, the ashen-grey Nightmare Kitsusagi sprung into the air with his hinds, pouncing hard on the boar's back. He was swift to bite his bony maw right into the spinal column of the beast, teeth ripping through flesh and ribcage, jaws crunching bone, rendering the boar paralyzed from the waist down. Zephyrizon flexed his claws out, getting a better grip on the animal.
He continued to hold on for all he was worth, despite the animal's struggling.
"We are going to eat well today..." He mumbled through his teeth, finally wagging his tail.

Yami chuckled as she stalked closer, the blood drawing her to their location. "You should not eat with your mouth full...." she said softly, but she snapped the spine of the boar at the neck, making sure it was a merciful death for the creature.
She waited for Zephyr to back away from the still creature before taking one leg in her mouth and proceeded to eat the warm meal.

Zephyrizon held onto the creature until the life-aura of the beast had completely drained out, and drifted away into the wind like smoke from a fire that had just been put out.
He moved off the dead animal, shaking himself off again.
"You did very well," Zephyrizon loudly purred out to Yami. "Not even my mother could properly hunt down a large prey animal such as that. We make a good team, don't you think?"
He smirked as he could hear Yami eating into one of the creature's legs. The sound of teeth chewing into flesh and bone was making him hungry, and his stomach growled in protest. The ashen-grey Nightmare flexed his paw claws for a moment, then began to hack into the ribcage of the kill, spilling the innards onto the grass.
"Would you like the liver?" He said, wagging his tails. It was actually his favourite part of the prey animals he took down, but he would let her have it if she wanted.
