*Rune rested back his haunches and smirked around the haft of his spear*
Well, looks like you were right. She seems VERY hungry....
Better pray thats enough to bring her to her senses enough not to jump us again. Where's the child?
*Yin darted away to check on Sadia as the two men continued to watch Nairika, Rune with a certain resignation, Yoh with an almost horrified fascination. Yang sat on Yoh's shoulder with his usual arrogant smirk, tiny tail flicking maliciously.*

Outside of the lush forestry, within the dessert and over a dune from even being able to see the oasis, Kenki dragged his toes in the sand warily.
This just isn't just. Who pays so much, for an exotic trophey halfbreed, comprised of two different vermin. Whats even the point of a trophey, if your not the one to have brought it down. Good thing their paying me a small fortune for this.
His long silver locks flood with a harsh sandy breeze, weighing down his yukata as it collected the loose sand. He was walking bare chested, with his yukata, vest and sandles all hung by his shoulders, an old fashioned kitsune mask covering the right side of his face.
The look in his dull passive ruby eye emphasised the lack of fun he was having, so did the trail his tail left, being dragged in the sand.
Finaly he reached the top of the dune, and his left eye became more lively for a moment as he spotted the green canopy ahead.
"heavens be praised."
He then cringed slightly for a moment, narrowing his eye and lowering his head with some tooth exposed.
"Yes yes, and I beleived you, did I not? Otherwise we would still be wondering aimlessly."
Cringing once again, though less this time, he then took a moment and wafted the sandy air.
"Your right. We're close..but that cant just be one. Can it?"
Such a potent smell....
Shrugging it off, Kenki put his lightly armoured vest back on, and tied his yukata off around his waist, hanging the sandles from his belt, beside his katana and wakazashi.
He then lightly gripped the sheathe of his katana, thumb resting on the guard, and raised his tail. Starting to gingerly hop from bare foot to foot, he tested the sands give, unhappy with its softness, however it would do.
"Now, bring me that horizone."
His feet and fore-legs then blurred, and but a moment after that, his whole body vanished. All that could be seen, was a series of small explosions in the sand in pattern, heading at high speed t'ward the forest.

The time that the mist had gathered around the three, Sadia, bieng childish like she was, felt nervous and afraid of the sight of the mist around all of them. She could smell blood somewhere near her, and the sound of horrifying hunger filled and frightened her with many thoughts of what kind of creature that could cause this kind of destruction. She would have at first thought it was like her mother, but mother was so much cleaner with her blood, unlike this creature. She quickly climbed up the safety of a tree trying to evade any contact from the creature that attacked them all.

nai gulped down the blood and cleaned the brim of the glass before pulling it away. whatever that was left of her sanity was slowly returning to her now that some of her hunger had be suppresed. she looked around at the creatures around her, her tail whipping slowly behind her
"....wh....why.....d...did you....h..help me?....i....a...at..acked....y..ou"

*Yin found Sadia after a short search and chirped enquiringly at her, hovering at her eye level. Down below, Yoh relaxed a little*
Hunger is a terrible thing - but it can bring people together. An hour ago, I was one man alone. Now there are four of us. Why shouldnt we have helped you?
The elf is right. Its not unkown for your species to 'ask' for food in a less quiet manner on occasion. You're ok now, though I warn you there's little enough to eat for the most omnivourous creature here, let alone one of you, ah, tastes. We should all look at getting out of here. REAL soon.

She looked down at the little dragon, and she climbed down the tree and looked at the creature for a little bit of time, like she was just marveled by the looks of the creature.

she nods slightly, looking down at the broken bottle in her hands. wincing slightly, she reaches into her mouth and pulls out a small glass shard that had broken in her mouth. she looks up at then slightly
"...thank you....and yes....there are creatures around......but none just yet to pose too much of a problem....."
she sees her staff laying aside and she holds out her hand. the staff rises up off the ground and zips into nai's hand

*Yin chirped at Sadia again, spinning in circles in the air, indicating the child should follow her back to the others.
Meanwhile, Yoh crouched down and looked up at his companions*
Yet is the operative word. Where should we go? I only came to this forest tonight and I do not know the area.
*Rune crouched beside him and used the point of his spear to sketch in the dirt*
We're about a third of the way into the forest here. It coveres this much of the valley. Desert to the east, grassplains to the north. Civilisation about a days travel south. If we head west, we'll be going through the demon settlement. I have never been out the other side so I dont know what lies beyond the forests western borders.
*Yoh nodded and looked at Nairika*
Any thoughts?

she watched silently, thinking to herself. she didnt want to be around anyone...but they had been kind to her even while she was trying to kill them...the least she could do is stay with them and offer what little help she could give
"...any way suits me fine....but i wont go near town......no civilisation....."
frowning slightly she looks down at the dirt, not really wishing to talk about her reasons
"but if you need someone to scout ahead.....i can help......."
she closed her eyes for a moment, sencing something nearby. she removes one of the daggers that lined her gloves then threw it at some nearby branches. a creature fell from the tree and to the ground.
"....but whatever we do.....we should do it soon...."

Sadia tilted her head at the creature as it spun around as it did. She did what it seemed to tell her and she started to follow the little dragon until she saw three large figures ahead of her, all taller than she was.

As the series of dust-ups continued closer to the east side of the forestry, they seemed to slow up. Finaly Kenki's figure became visible again just within the tree line.
Once just a small way in, he found himself a small source of water easily, and settled there. He had his fill for the mean time, then set down a medium sized satchel that had been hanging from his belt over his a**.
I should take some with me, just in case. But too much would just be a bother if I ran into trouble.
Glancing upward, he narrowed his left eye before crouching low. He then sprung skyward demonstrating staggering leg strength. Reaching a branch he then made succesion of leaping from branch to branch heading for the canopy.
Before breaking the canopy, he prepared for another high jump, then went off. He managed a good height with his leap, able to see a fair distance, yet not the end of the green maze.
He then fell all the way back to the forest floor, landing without strain on his body and sat with a sigh.
"This isn't good, theres far too many variables for an effective hunt."
As he contimplated his next move, he filled the water satchel half way, before tieing it back onto his belt.
"Next order of business. Food."
Kenki crossed his legs, folded his arms, closed his eyes and lowered his head as if entering a medative state. He sat that way for a good few minutes, before once again opening his eyes.
"West."
He then got up from his position and began the leg work he had started atop the dune earlier. surely enough he vanished once more, though this time there was only the sparce sound of dead leaves covering the ground cracking, although by the time one would notice such a sound, his feet were far from there.
Just a short distance away, he stopped stealthfully with his back to a large tree trunk. Just on the other side, near 20ft away was a large boar, sniffy about for a feed itself.
Four legged creatures are so difficult.
He rested his hand on the sheathe of his katana, and turned around the trunk of the tree to stare across at the boar. As the boar noticed him, it raised its tail high and snorted, stomping a foot to the ground.
"Here piggy piggy."
The boar then charged him, though Kenki stood firm, watching the beast's feet.
17...16...15
As the boar grew closer and he counted the strides, he lowered his stance to that of a battoujutsu stance.
13...12...11...10ft
His exposed left eye suddenly changed. From the dull passive red, to a fierce vibrant ruby, the look of a killer in his eye. As the boar had reached what he was certain to be ten feet away from him, he vanished, re-appearing behind the beast by the same distance immediatly, sword drawn and raised out by his right shoulder.
The pig however fell to the floor, not a scratch visible on it. Kenki sheathed his sword, and then dragged the prize away, in search of a cave, or any other manner of shelter, that would conceal smoke.

I suggest we go north. We've been sensed already by the locals. Its time we got out of here.
*Rune stood up to his full height, wrapping his spear close to his back with his long tail. He then casually cut some meat from the boar with his claws, retracting them when he was done to wrap the meat in cases of green leaves. After filling his pockets, he indicated the others should do the same*
We're being surrounded slowly. There's still time to go north if we hurry. Sadia, come and stand close to me child.

nai slowly rose to her feet with the aid of her staff. she whiped the blood from her lips and licked it off before looking at them
"i will cover us from above"
for some reason nai didnt even seem concerned about the situation around them. she pushed off the ground and hovered up near the treetops. her eyes were closed as she used her aura sence to watch over the area. she didnt want to tell them that her eyes were useless at the moment due to the flames.

*Yoh blinked a little as Nai leapt into the air, then shrugged and eyed Rune a little. Unsure of his companions, he stroked Yang's head then began gathering his own food supplies, murmuring under his breath to Yin, who vanished into the trees, a small silver dart in the darkness. When she suddenly returned to his shoulder as he approached Rune, Yang took off and did likewise*

Sadia scampered over towerd Rune while she stayed very close with him, just like he told her to do. She wasn't close enough to touch skin, but close enough to bump into him if she didn't pay attention.
