I love rap. I'll definitely check that out. Rap's a beautifully complex lyrical art and I'd love to see how that translates into atheistic principles. The first song, "Papa Noah," is by a Dancehall group that largely does trilingual rap. Too bad I only understand the English and very little of the German.

Theophrastus Or for that matter, an openly homosexual gangsta rapper. That'd just make my day. It doesn't count, but a girl I knew in reform school's best friend gangsta rapped about being openly gay. He wasn't really a rapper in the famous record-making sense but damned if his songs weren't awesome. He had one called "Big Daddy" and--this was five years ago and I was fourteen so I don't remember the intricacies of the song--it went something like: "You're a big fine man, now back that a**. Won't you call me big daddy while you back that a**?" I don't remember anything else about it, haha.

Bad Religion; just went out and bought one of their albums. I was so scared that my dad would have heard of them and would bite my head off, but he didn't.
What I find hilarious is that Simple Plan does a cover of American Jesus.
I think I like their version of it better sweatdrop
here is one I think is rather Atheistic or something...
I constantly thank god for esteban Panic! at the disco
Give us this day our daily dose of faux affliction Forgive our sins Forged at the pulpit with forked tongues selling faux sermons. 'Cause I am a new wave gospel sharp, and you'll be thy witness So gentlemen, if you're gonna preach, for God sakes preach with conviction!
Strike up the band! Whoa-oh, the conductor is beckoning Come congregation, let's sing it like you mean it No. Don't you get it, don't you get it? Now don't you move. Strike up the band! Whoa-oh, the conductor is beckoning Come congregation, let's sing it like you mean it No. Don't you get it, don't you get it? Now don't you move.
Just stay where I can see you. Douse the lights! We sure are in for a show tonight
In this little number we're graced by two displays of character, We've got: the gunslinger extraordinaire walking contradictions And I for one can see no blood from the hearts and the wrists you allegedly slit And I for one wont stand for this if this scene were a parish you'd all be condemned.
Now don't you, don't you move.
Just stay where I can see you Douse the lights! We sure are in for a show tonight Just stay where I can see you Douse the lights! We sure are in for a show tonight
Stay where I can see you Douse the lights!

Funny I should find a topic like this... I was reading through the lyric booklet from Found in the Flood by The Bled earlier and I found this. This song is so vehemently anti-faith and contemptuous of religious oppression that I would feel sort of bad keeping it to myself.
I DON'T KEEP WITH LIARS ANYMORE The Bled
I see right through you when you sing it back to me I read that fine print and I saw you staggering Regurgitate the s**t you find In the dirty dreams of a rapist's mind Congratulate the corpse you drag Put the money in a body bag Right in front of us
The stop and start machine You've been singing with the liar's tongue With every crippled word you said to me With every fractured breath and broken glare You were pawning off your babies' debt With a cold paycheck
Abandon what you built Repair your hope with guilt There's nothing left here to suffocate With razor wire arms You reach and miss the throat There's nothing left to love about this city anymore The politics and the hired whore
Now save your breath Now into your mouth Did this to yourself You can't repair the punctured lung Secrets seep through the stress cracks Shut your mouth I read the fine print Now shut your mouth You did this to yourself Now shut your mouth and pay the rent
You say it Like your life depends On believing in your own lie I see right through you when you sing it Sing it back to me
Now say it like your life depends on Believing in your own lie

For the ultimate in in atheistic music: Fireaxe. Philosophy combined with years of research into religion and psychology, in the format of three albums..the culmination of which is the third album, a three disc epic.

Seeing as I should probably post lyrics but it's a three disc album...:
www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=35484
There's a link to a site containing all the lyrics to the album. Mind you, it deals with historical themes too and moves in cycles.
